Good news and bad news. Good news is I don't and won't need surgery because I'm going to a good job of taking care of myself and my ankle. However, I still have to wear the boot and I can't exercise fully yet. I'll be using the stationary bike and such in the meantime but no lunges or squats. Anyway, I'm taking care of…

@niota56 I would definitely bump it up, per what it says on page 76. After three weeks, see what progress you've made. If you haven't lost weight and/or inches, drop back down to where you should be. Page 76 addresses both maintenance and what to do if you are doing extra workouts. It's not just a both/and but an…

Doctor's orders. I have to stay off my foot. No squats or lunges or anything where I'm standing. Not even a downward dog push-up. So Jillian Michaels et. al. shall be returned to the shelf. I'll give the program a try someday in the future. For now, I have to redirect my fitness plans to avoid injuring myself. Darn darn…

So I guess I won't be finishing out Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution and/or PiYo this time around. Seems my sore ankle, which has been hurting since April, is due to tendon deterioration. Nothing I can do about it. Just getting old. But I have to stay off it for a few weeks and then we'll see where things stand, so to…

@mscote12 Sounds like a reboot on Monday would be a good idea. That said, by all means eat well from now through the end of the week and then enjoy your weekend, knowing Monday you'll be back to giving it, and yourself, your all!

I admit, this thread in the group had me scared: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10211123/workouts-7-8#Item_4 I started 7 & 8 this week and I honestly don't feel like it's significantly more difficult than the others. I mean, weeks 3 & 4 are absolutely harder than 1 & 2 but then 5 & 6 are harder than 3 & 4.…

*So Far So Sore* I'm officially halfway through Jillian Michaels Body Revolution and I'm staying sore. Just when I stop feeling as sore as I do on day one, new and harder workouts are introduced. There's no adjusting to what you're doing because, by the time you reach the second week and start thinking maybe you can…

Curious about whether or not BOD is available outside the US. Specifically Amsterdam and London. I'm going on a trip and debating if I want to invest in BOD so I don't miss out on my workouts. That said, I know that some streaming services don't work in other countries.

So far, so good. I was having my doubts about my ability to progress but, at this point, I am seeing the pattern of progression. Just when I think I have a handle on the workout and maybe can even increase my weights on some of the moves (which I actually did today, using 5 lbs instead of 3 lbs sometimes), it's going to…

When you say you like spinach are you saying you like it raw? If so, I'd just substitute all fresh, raw greens with what you like. And remember, it's only 7 days, not a lifelong commitment. For me, I'd have to do something about the Salmon Lox and avacado. Not a fan of either one (although I love salmon just not a fan of…

This week ends Phase 2 part 1 and on Monday I'll be swapping out this past two weeks' workouts for two new ones. I hear that the next two are pretty much the hardest of the program and I'm already feeling a wee bit intimidated. That said, I'm proud of myself for keeping up, even if I am having to modify so much that I…

@haleymiller0707 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As I always tell people, taking care of yourself and being healthy doesn't begin and end with diet and exercise. It includes getting enough rest, letting your body heal when it needs a little TLC. @jpkrueger If you know anything about the hotels where you'll be staying,…

PS: I think it's a brilliant idea to make it into a soup. So long as there's no salt added, I can't think why that wouldn't work.

I seriously wanted to do 3DQF this week before my daughter's birthday but life has been weird lately and food shopping wasn't as organized as it usually is. So today I'm being really strict leading up to tonight's pizza, cake, and ice cream. And wine. A bottle of red for me and my baby girl who turns 33 today.

My husband and I have found a good Shakeology substitute that has fewer carbs (necessary for him) and more protein. Sprouts Farmers Market has a "store brand" meal replacement shake which is pretty much on par with Shakeology. And it tastes GREAT! The strawberry is, in our opinion, super sweet but I think that could be…

I have an impossible time with Stork and the Statue of Liberty moves. I use the couch to help with the former (standing leg braced against the arm of the couch) and a wall for the latter (extended arm grazing fingertips on the wall). I haven't fallen and that's all that matters. Can't do any jumping ever because of my…

@muppetfan13 No. I have cervical vertigo. Incurable and probably progressive. The doctors at Emory weren't sure but they helped me by giving me exercises to do that made it possible for me to put my walker in the attic. I'm hoping I never need to use it again but I know that's not realistic. I have a hard time with the…

@muppetfan13 I don't know a lot about Hashimoto's but I do know a lot about being frustrated with a new body situation. In 2006, I woke up with vertigo and it took me over a year to learn it is incurable and I'll be living with it forever. Then last year I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis. I mean, I couldn't get…

Phase 2/Week 1/Workouts 5 & 6 and Cardio 2 For Workout 5, I had to bring in some 3 lbs weights because I simply couldn't do the Supermans with a Present with anything higher than 3 lbs. I also decided to anchor my resistance cords in the door, rather than with my foot, which resolved the issue I was having with them during…

Hello Everyone! The x-ray results came back normal which means I probably have a torn ligament or something. Glad I don't have even a hairline fracture but frustrated that I keep tearing things in my legs. My ankle is still hurting and now I will be seeing an orthopedist who will probably tell me to stop doing whatever it…

@codycsweet I should clarify one minor point. I follow Kat more then 5% of the time because there are some things I cannot do because of doctor's orders. I have to keep everything low impact. So I have to step everything out. But there are things she modifies that are not explosive moves which I now can do without…

When I bumped up to the higher food bracket, I gained weight so I have dropped back down to the lower food bracket again.

I know I've seen a lot of delicious looking recipes from different people but so far I haven't been tempted to buy the book. I don't even know why.

I've done both and I would say it depends on where you are with 21DF. Did you do more than one round of 21DF? Did you increase the weights you were using in one of the later rounds? Are you able to do all of the exercises without missing a rep? Are you only following Kat about 5% of the time (or not at all)? If you can…

@Jenni_MFP Thank you for the reminder! I had forgotten to tell my mother to hit pause. I told her to not use weights, to skip reps, to alternate in her lifts if she wanted to, but I never once told her to pause the workout! Thank you!
-
@sari_endipity08 I didn't use weights at all the first week I did 21 Day Fix and have encouraged my mother and my friend to do the same. I still made progress and was able to eventually add weights and then eventually was able to do all of the reps with weights. And yes, I also lost weight in spite of my careful approach…

@JessUK98 I can't say for sure because I've never taken a class. It also really depends on the instructor. Even on DVDs, some people are better at giving cues about what is coming next and others are terrible about it. But my honest feeling is that it doesn't really matter. People don't take fitness classes to judge what…

Wow. I didn't even check in yesterday. Goes to show you how much I'm enjoying being alone. No Rob around and I seem to lose all focus on my routine. It's looooovely. Yesterday's Workout Rest Day for JMBR sooooo . . . PiYo W4/D7/Sweat My ankle is not happy with me so I didn't try to do everything but I kept up with almost…

Started Phase 2 today and I had to modify quite a few things. I can't do any high impact so I did the squat-jumps low impact, rising only to my toes, but held my weights to add some resistance. I had a very difficult time with the cable punches. My hips kept getting in the way. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep your…

So glad I won't be doing Cardio 1 again. I watched Workout 5 and I am feeling a bit intimidated about what I'll have to do on Monday. Definitely going to have to make some accommodations because I have to keep things low impact and such. Onwards and upwards!!!
