  • I am afraid, some people believe this statement. I might even live with one ;)
  • I really wish they had a like button for individual posts!!!
  • Drink some water and let the body do its job!! As Hornsby said, multiple studies have shown detox diets are a hoax and the only purpose of them is to fill someone elses pocket book.

  • 100% agree. This is the internet, not the class room, play ground or the work place. If you don't like how someone is treating you on the internet, you leave. This is another fine example of how the few are trying to make the many conform. I will also add, this is an example of why MFP management is having the forums…
  • Ultimately it is about the calories. Sugar is a carbohydrate and if you are tracking your macro nutrients, that is what you track, not the sugar portion. Unless you have a doctor confirmed medical condition that limits sugar there is no reason to worry about your sugar intake.
  • I don't worry about salt. Usually I am over MFP's recommended amount before supper and I don't add salt to anything. My wife might when she is cooking but I don't. Just drink plenty of fluid and unless you have a risk factor it is a non issue.
  • OMG, that one almost brought me to tears because of the laughter. OP, please disregard this post and her other post as well. That is pure nonsense. I have been skipping breakfast for months. I have also been working out in the early AM while fasted and not eating till noon. I am still making strength gains. Made a huge…
  • Full Fat Cheese!! High in calories, High in protein. /End Thread
  • As Hornsby said sugar is just a carb. Also, do not worry about sugars from fruits. When people talk negative about sugars, it is not the ones related to fruit. It is your processed sugars, but again, sugar is just a carb.
  • Oh yeah. I had an 8oz patty last night stuffed with jalapeno and pepperjack cheese stuffed between some toasted bread. I was in heaven. I had some home made fries too. Oh, I also had a 12oz bag of California Medley Steamed Vegetables as well. AWESOME meal!!!
  • Sorry, gotta disagree!! Listen to those people that have been successful and are where you want to be. This is how it is for everything in life. There are a lot of successful people on MFP that have lost the weight and kept it off. Add to that, there is another segment in that crowd that not only lost the weight and kept…
  • @jazmin220 Take it from someone that has been doing this a LOT longer than your 23 year old self. Faster loss is not better. Slow and steady wins the race. Why suffer with such a low number of calories when you can be more satisfied and still lose weight. Studies show that the faster the loss the more likely it is to…
  • Do what works for you. I personally do IF and I always workout fasted. I usually don't eat for at least 5 hours after my early AM workout. That doesn't work for my wife though. She gets all weak and will even get dizzy later in the morning if she doesn't have some food when she gets home from her early AM workout-. I know…
  • Nope, nothing has changed. I still have the same cravings and to be honest, I can still eat the same quantities of food now that I could when I was 341 lbs. The only thing stopping me is not wanting to be that person again. However, I can say, there are days that I still lose control and the fat me takes over. Right now…
  • OP, as another said, if you really are not ready to lose weight, nothing will work. I am sorry, but 90% of a diet is mental. It does not matter what program you decide to go with, it will not work if you do not have the right frame of mind. I am not saying though to quit trying. One of these times everything might just…
  • It is because you do not understand it. Instead of assuming you need to actually do some research on the subject. I haven't tried the 5:2 diet but I am doing Leangains 16:8 (16 hour fast w/ 8 hour feeding window) and love it. I still get in my recommended calories, just in a shorter window. I have contemplated doing 5:2…
  • Then there is something else going on. Math is math, 4-2 equals 2 not 6. In other word, deficit + exercise = more deficit, not maintenance or surplus. Read the link below and the links enclosed there for explanation. Have a good day!!
  • If you haven't already, go to this thread and soak up the wisdom. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants
  • As others have said, count it. Next time though do not use so much. I use Coconut Oil and don't even use a full tablespoon when cooking eggs. It is all gone when the eggs are done.
  • Thank you all. Because of this thread I got my copy on Kindle now and am having trouble staying away from it. I really like Schuler's writing style. I sure hope Kalikel, and many others, purchase it. Lots of good stuff and I am only 13% into it.
  • @brianpperkins you operate in black and white don't you? There is no gray with you? You are wrong though, the site does allow you to track weekly calories. You enter your calories based on a 24 hour period but you can see where you are sitting on your weekly totals. At least you can on the apps. I can see my caloric intake…
  • ^^^^^^this^^^^^^ Intermittent Fasting is becoming very popular. I am currently doing 16:8 but may also incorporate the 5:2 diet which entails two days of very low intake. No, not in a row but preceded by a day of higher intake. Also, @brianperkins there are a lot of people on MFP that follow the weekly calorie goal. Some…
  • Really?? Who are you to say what it is designed for? There are many different ways to get caloric intake in and MFP is actually pretty flexible. It is just a tool for calculating macros and calories.
  • I know logically why the HRM isn't accurate, but it doesn't matter. I lost over 100lbs by using a Polar FT4 to calculate my caloric burn. Didn't matter whether it was running, walking or lifting. Now, let me clarify, most days I did not eat all my exercise calories. In fact usually only about half, but there were days I…
  • Why, is creatine bad for you? Honest question. Everything I have read says it is beneficial. Although, I do know they periodically test for it at the high school and you are banned if caught taking it. I found that interesting.
  • Good job on the weight loss!!! For me it is all mental. If I have had a decent supper then the late night snack is all mental. I will start thinking about it and they I will start getting cravings which ultimately lead me to think I am hungry. I find if I have calories left over after supper, I try and plan out an evening…
  • I have this book and used the program for a few months. I still use the pre-workout routine that they provided. I however went to Wendler's 5/3/1 since I like the more compound exercises, like back squat, dead lift and presses. 5/3/1 just seems to have a better progression for me. If it has been a long time since your…
  • ^^^^This^^^^ Intermittent Fasting 16:8 has really helped me stick to the intake I have set. I thought I might miss breakfast, but I don't. There may be a twinge if someone else is cooking something that smells good, but otherwise, I am good till noon. Some days I am chomping at the bit by the time noon rolls around but…
