You know what, depending on who you are talking too, just about everything is bad for you now days.

Wanted to point out, there are actually people that make a living with that selfie stick. I don't understand how, but YouTube, Instagram and Twitter are making some people rich. Those selfie sticks made it much easier for them.

@DeeJayShank WRONG!! You are reading into "IIFYM crowd" statements something that is not there. If they truly follow IIFYM or flexible dieting, they will say "all calories are created equal". I do not see the word MACRO anywhere in that statement. I dare you to go and find a knowledgeable follower of IIFYM that has said…

This is what I do. Or, you can pay for the premium version.

OMG, I have been reading his Facebook page. This guy is really pissing me off. Although, I can see I am not the only one. From what I can see he is getting a majority of negative posts right now and not positive responses. I mean, what is wrong with a Blood Mary with a meat Slim Jim and bacon? Yummy!!! As long as you plan…

Interesting, I read about this yesterday but I never went to his Facebook page. It was awful what he did and her response was awesome as well. What I find interesting is the name Shark Fitness. He might have a rights issue with that name. Take a look at the link below. Yes there is a difference. GymShark versus Shark…

If it is your job and you do it on a daily basis it is not exercise. Edit to Clarify: It is exercise, just not extra exercise you can add to earn more calories.

^^^^^ This ^^^^^^^^^ I hope this works for you, but what your mother does not realize is it ultimately comes down to calories in versus calories out. I know some people that didn't "cut the cord" and their mom is still meddling in their lives into their 40's. Even after they have married and had kids of their own.

I also like the larger meals approach. This is why I choose to follow Intermittent Fasting Lean Gains. This basically is a program that shortens your eating window to only 8 hours a day. You choose the 8 hour window that fits your needs. It seems that most people that do it eat between 12 pm and 8 pm. Or something close to…

Foam Roller. I think these have saved me a lot of pain since I learned how to use them. I swear by those things and I find it really interesting how many gyms do not have them on hand or give you a blank stare when you ask about them.

Muscle size is not directly proportional to strength. Bigger muscles generally mean we are stronger but if we have not been using our existing muscle it has potential to lift more weight than it has been. This is where most "noob" gains come from. Also, obese people in some cases are able to increase muscle size, but it is…

You cannot lose weight when you are working to gain muscle. I am thinking you mean losing fat while working on gaining muscle, but again, it does not work that way. In most cases you actually gain fat to while working on gaining muscle. Usually a 50/50 split. That is what Bulk and Cut cycles are about. There is a…

As @MrM27 said in another post, what is it with these people make this out of whack comments that have no profile and a very small post count.
-
So you didn't know this when you married him? :o

I would recommend a program called New Rules of Lifting for Women (NRoLFW). There are lots of great programs, but if you do not have access to Barbells, NRoLFW, has lots of alternative exercises, yet keeps a focus on lifting progressively heavier to gain muscle and strength.

Based on what I have read so far, especially since you are more focused on fitness, you need to re-evaluate why you are eating so low and believe you need to lose. What are you doing for exercise? At your height and weight, that is where fitness comes into play, not a low calorie diet.
-
That's OK, believe what you want. Please go ahead and just ignore the people with the most success on MFP and do what you want.

100% agree. I will sometimes just have it in almond milk, but if I have a bunch of extra calories left over towards evening, and the biggest shortage is protein, I will mix protein powder, almond milk, greek yogurt and strawberries and/or bananas together. Stick in freezer and stir every 30 to 45 minutes. By 7:30 my eating…

Probably not going to happen, but good luck ;)

OMG, this has been debunked so much it is almost a "dead horse". Also, where is the common sense. If I eat 1800 calories split up over 24 hours, or eat it all at once, why would it be less work on my metabolism to burn the 1800 all at once? It wouldn't. If all foods are the equal, it takes the same amount of energy to burn…

Nope, but if I did, it is none of your business.

I have kids and I agree with @draznyth. He summed up everything wrong with this thread in one nice tidy sentence.

You are not being attacked!! If you want to see what is like to be attacked, start a post on the "evils of sugar" or "should I eat back my 1500 exercise calories I earned doing 3 classes of Insanity when I have already eaten 800 calories today? I am stuffed" /sarcasm You need to understand, there is a lot of garbage advice…

I really wish we could "LIKE" an individual post in the thread :-) This one should end the thread.

You're only cheating yourself if you do.

Whatever works best for you. Anyone that says it matters for the average person is not up on current science. Google Brad Schoenfeld and Alan Aragon. The bottom line is unless you are at the extreme end of the spectrum of athlete, meal timing is irrelevant. So, just eat when you are hungry. I for one hardly ever eat before…
-
Basically what you said. I add all the ingredients together and then when it is done cooking I weigh out the total weight of the food, minus the dish and figure out what the calories per 100g is.
-
Two words, over complication.
-
It is all about personal preference. What works for you? Food timing and number of meals is irrelevant to weight loss.
