maybe use another method of measuring yourself - if as people are saying BMI isn't effective or accurate for all people. I agree with them as if someone ways a lot but is very muscular and lean then their BMI would class them as overweight. if concerned that you're underweight see your GP - and check other measurements…

other side to it is less strenuous aerobice exercise will burn more fat from the calories your using - where the runningis working your heart - cardio - just adding to what KPnuts said really...

If you're entering your weight, age etc. correctly on both then I can't see why it wouldn't be right.... I'm the same - running machine is much more hard work! Only difference might be that the running machine is a higher intensity workout and therefore after the exercise your metabolism might be higher than when you…

i thought that too...interesting to see what ppl say... as my goal is 0 aswell

if you're snacking - maybe its cos ur hungry? eat 5 small meals at regular intervals throughout the day - i.e. - split your daily calorie intake into 5 example daily calories = 1500 each meal = 300 calories eat one meal every 3 hours if poss... something I just realised aswell is try to make your meals well balanced - not…

up it to 2lb a week instead of 1lb - and therefore increase your calories. Weigh yourself in the morning at the same time everyday to get a controlled measurement....weighing at random times will create anomylous results (for example if you ate before you weighed - your weighing the food in your stomach aswell as your body…

I thought sitting put increased pressure on your spine? as all of the weight of your upper body is now focused directly onto the spine without being distributed through the legs? might be way off tho? :ohwell:

I'm the same - I eat a lot of meat. I'm also doing resistance training - aiming for 3-5 sessions a week. I'm trying to build lean muscle and burn fat. A lot of sites amd resources say this is impossible. Not looking to become a massive body builder - want a lean physique - althetic. be interested to what people have to…

 Go to settings - fill out the diet/fitness section accurately and truthfully and eat the amount of calories it tells you. Go for the recommended weight loss per week aswell (mine was 2lb a week) and stick to it. Will be much easier to maintain the lifestyle change and you will be more likely to succeed. Also the…

sorry - you beat me to the post... agree with the corona! :drinker:

agree with this statement above. The sugary taste makes your body think your gettin sugar (i.e. energy) but never gets it from the coke. Then your body craves the sugar from other sources - making you go for that nice desert! :P again - look it up... see what credible research is out there... and enjoy the mexican! one day…

not looking to restrict the amount - its the whether to eat them at different times of day...probably not that significant really - I count them in my calories and try to eat 5 fruit n veg. a day. Think I'm gunna try n spread them out through the day - makes more sense to I think... Cheers guys..

do some exercise to counteract it? go to the gym - if you do already - do extra... that's my theory - though puttin it into practice is difficult sometimes haha i love mexican food! nachos! jalapenos!

Look at pregnancy skin products...similar thing innit? stretch marks n all that? saying that - I'm a bloke - what do i know...

as long as you eat small meals at regular intervals I think you should be ok. Or, try upping your portion sizes slightly - as its good to stick to your calorie goal i think. I was way under yesterday for the first time. How much under are we talkin about?

samseed101 - top answer mate! thanks very much. I work in an office - long periods sitting down. I've heard of stomahc vacuums before - will be doing them regularly from now on. Guess I need to work some cardio into my routine and keep up the core and ab exercises as the other suggestions didn't really relate to my…

get 'em off!! :P naked - it works 70% of the time...every time!

yeah - same here - I'm not a morning person - I'm nocturnal if anything! love stayin up late and hate getting up early! don't always get up - yesterday I had a lie in... but get up - hit the gym at 6 or6.30am for an hour - kick starts your metabolism for the rest of the day. Also if you don't eat before you go it burns…

look up your BMR on the tools tab at the tab. your Basal Metabolic Rate. THis will give you a rough idea of how many calories you would need to maintain your current weight on a normal day - not factoring in exercise. you could use this as your absolute maximum if you want to lose weight. Or, use it as your goal calorific…

caffiene probably speeds up your metabolism rather than slows it as it increases your heart rate. I also know of products containing caffeine and other stimulants that claim to boost your fat burning capabilities and Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). I have heard numerous times that you shouldn't drink coffee past…

steady on people... haha sparkle - know where you're coming from - not wanting things slated n I delibereately held back on my first comment... but have to agree with stella_star - there are two sides and these posting forums are for people to put their 2 pence/cents in and give each other advice/encouragement and…

the 'stairmaster' in most gyms burns loads of calories. why not walk up and down ur stairs a few times a day when u have 5 mins spare - every little counts - eat less... move more :drinker:

since I've been using this haven't tracked once on the weekend! easy to get into the routine when you're working... but random weekends make it hard! Saying that - I blow it every weekend anyway - so it would probably make me feel worse seeing the calories... or maybe it would give a a kick up the backside and make me do…

Yep...I just had no idea about the amount of calories that are in things.... this site just takes away the uncertainty and makes me aware of what I'm consuming... should get the beach bod ready for summer! :glasses:

Diet drinks aren't any better though I've heard and read. Can be very bad for teeth and cause hunger: The theory goes that when you drink a diet drink your body gets the sweet taste of the drink but not the satisfaction from sugar - therefore can trigger your mind to crave sugar or energy from another source... If I…

I take this site as a guesstimator just to make me more aware of what I'm eating and to have a rough idea of what my daily intake is. A taste here or there and eating out at a restaurant where the calorific content isn't available once in a while is fine - infact its probably advisable... to give your mind and body a…

Haven't heard of that before - must be a weak beer? As for the Gin and soda - I don't mind a Gin n Tonic sometimes like - but when I'm out...don't think I could pull it off on a session with the boys! haha
