  • Thanks for the responses. Since my husband is the one who did the actual grilling, I really have no idea how much he used and how much he dumped; I figure maybe two-thirds was wasted? So I adjusted my recipe to only reflect a third of the marinade per serving, and that cut out quite a bit of the carbs, sugar and sodium,…
  • Been there, done that, and am happy to say I survived to make it through to the other side. Gained about 20 lbs at the start of perimenopause, lost most of it, then gained 10 back that Would Not Budge. Fast forward a couple years, and at three years out I'm now down 22 lbs from 10 gain-back amount. In other words, I'm…
  • When I was actively losing weight, my calorie goal was 1330. Technically I'm at my goal weight, but I still don't feel all that secure in it yet. Also, my main goal is to reduce my body fat percentage, so that throws another monkey wrench into the mix. I'm working with a trainer/nutrition counselor, and he has me taking in…
  • I'm 52, had a single mastectomy with reconstruction on my right side, 3 years out from my initial surgery. Last surgery (had three) was March 2012. I'm actually considering having yet another procedure to switch out the implant for a smaller one, since I've lost quite a bit of weight these last couple months, and the…
  • I'm 5'2.5", and for my entire adult life, I had never successfully been under 120 lbs. In March I started at 130, and now I'm at 114, which is one pound away from goal. But my main goal is to reduce my body fat percentage. I'm 52.
  • People aren't looking at you. They're too busy looking at themselves. A larger, muscular body is the potential for strength. Make something of your potential. And quit worrying about other people!
  • Curious to know at what rate everyone has chosen to lose their weight. I have it set for a half pound per week, which is the most conservative option. I wonder if that makes a difference in how quickly we actually progress.
  • I'm 5'2.5" (and yes that half inch counts!). Started at 130 lbs on March 11, and just hit 114 yesterday, June 3. I'm a runner, but training for marathons made no difference in my weight up until the point I decided I needed to clean up my food. Cut out virtually all the junk, and measured EVERYTHING. I have my macro…
  • I seem to go over on my fiber everyday. My goal is 21 grams, and I'm consistently double that amount. My stomach is used to it, I suppose, but it bothers me to see that negative number in red all the time. I rarely go over my calories (counting my exercise, that is).
  • Well for me, I don't like the idea of processed chemicals and powders, and I don't eat meat. Oh and dairy and soy aren't really good for me either. Which just leaves fish from your list. ;) Good topic, especially since I'm new to MFP and nutrient counting (vs calorie counting). Thanks, will try to have egg whites instead…
