I *kitten* you not I was watching TV the other night and in the background was some shelves with general bric-a-brac on them and I mentally scanned over the items EXPECTING A TEXT DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEMS

Awesome job mate. You have been a constant inspiration and motivation for me from my early days on here. Well done and THANK YOU!

As somebody already said, YOU need to be ready. I tried to motivate myself when I got married, didn't work. Tried again when my son was born, didn't work and kept gaining. One morning out of nowhere I just woke up motivated and have lost over 50lbs so far. Not really helpful to you I realise, but unless you are 100%…

Its not necessarily bad advice, but it IS very generic and it worked for YOU. If you want to keep people informed of YOUR progress maybe put it in a blog and not on the General help board. Hopefully this truthful post won't get deleted like the last time I posted on one of your threads.... :drinker:

Hi Everyone, I'm in Perth, I joined up a while back but only started logging properly lately. I log every day and my diary is open to friends. I've lost about 15kgs so far and have about another 40ish to shift... Add me if you want!
-
LOL!! Perfect explanation!

I'm 40 in a couple of months and have lost about 15kg so far and I've definitely noticed more wrinkles on my face lately. I figured its because the fat isn't stretching my skin to hide them!

I'm new to stationary biking too doing about an hour a night. I play fifa14 on my ps3 while doing it and I don't even know I'm exercising! A decent heart rate monitor is REALLY handy to have also... good luck!

I have, and I can see results already (10kgs down but just started logging) hopefully I'll put them up soon in the 'success stories' section!

I really need this tattooed on my forehead! Now that I'm educated and motivated I want results !!

Thanks for the links and ideas, I followed what you suggested by finding my bmi etc and changing my goal settings etc. MFP gave me the exact same calorie goal. When I calculated my ideal weight (75kgs) bmr it came out at 1740.. the daily goal I have now (at 144kgs) is 1870. I'll do what you suggested and set smaller goals…
-
Bump. Anyone have an idea?
-
I do have a lot to lose (100lbs +) and I've used the MFP, scooby, body n soul, bmr.net, myDr.com calculators etc etc. Each one gave me a different answer within a similar range so I took the average. I believe MFP was the lowest though with their different method. My settings were 144kgs, 180cm, 39 years old and sedentary.…

Yes, you can set your upper and lower limits and it beeps when you go out of the range.

Thanks for the info everyone! :drinker:
-
That's what I was hoping to read! Thanks!

The only caveat would be if one day eating "normally" would derail you from your overall plan. Good point, I won't be going crazily over for the day so hopefully by the end of the week I should still be on or near goal. I'll still log for the pub day so I can see just how much damage was done!

Awesome job, you look great! Thank you for posting, very inspirational and motivating.

I'm a 6ft 300lb male, when I first started attempting to lose weight I did very high protein extremely low carbs for a while. I ate 6 times a day easily and was ALWAYS full, however I was struggling to hit even 1300-1500 calories a day. I switched my plan to include more carbs and calorie dense foods and I'm comfortably…

I'm looking at 104lbs to be gone by the end of 2014. Feel free to add me if you want to..

Any help or advice you could pass on would be great. I'll send you a pm and request

Thank you SO much for posting. I was reading the first part thinking "this is me, this is TOTALLY me...." You've really added to my motivation, Thank You. :drinker:

Speaking purely from personal experience, I stopped eating back my exercise cals thinking I could speed things up and my steady weight loss came to a grinding halt. I've started eating most of them back and I'm back on track and feel better too. Good luck!
-
Excellent! Thanks for the clarification. I'll try and argue with the wife before every workout, seems to burn more cals!!
