  • I think you're doing great, encouraging him to do it the right way!! Too many 13 year olds are choosing to be a kid, by gaming and being on their phones 24/7.
  • Wow! Amazing transformation! And I agree with the others when I say that I'm so impressed with the dedication and time you have put into this. So many times we are so into instant gratification that if we don't make our goals quickly, we give up before we get to where we need to be. Very inspiring! You are the poster child…
  • That's so cool! How brave and generous of her to take the time to do that! Congrats on your progress, too. It must be obvious to others how much work you have done!
  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing how you got there, too. It's kind of what I'm doing for food, so that makes me feel like I can do it!! I still have a ways to go and you have given me inspiration! Congrats on your success!
  • I have the same issue. I usually only take off one day a week, but I also feel like I can't eat anything. I know a day of rest is important, but it really messes with my appetite!
  • Well done! This is the answer. OP, you say you want it to be a "part" of your life and not your whole life. I get that, I work, I have kids, husband, animals, etc. But I also think you need to ask yourself how much of your life is spent hating the way you look, the way you feel? How much of your life is spent making…
  • Someone at work called me skinny. (Not even close, but appreciate the compliment.) And then someone else at work said that my hard work is really paying off. Made it back to workout this morning after taking a rest day yesterday due to leg soreness. I cannot believe how out of sorts I was yesterday because of not working…
  • Let me just say that Jim's response shows he is way smarter than I am. This is so timely. I've been adding some running to my workouts and last night my legs were just so tight and sore! So, this morning, still feeling sore, I decided not to do my normal workout. I have been feeling so bad all day. I'm totally off my game.…
  • I like these responses. You're acknowledging that coworker said something, but you're not about to launch into a debate. Well done!
  • That is inspiring! You really upped your time in a big hurry! Maybe it won't take the rest of my life to be able to run more than a couple of minutes at a time!!!
  • Awesome! And I so very much understand the extra part of being able to walk the 8 miles now! It's just a great thing! Now, if you go pick up a couple of 50 pound weights and walk, you'll know why it was so hard before!!
  • Started running last week, finally. I'm not great, but working on it.
  • Thank you so much for sharing this!! What a great accomplishment for you! It is helpful to me, too, because I just started working on running last week. I am trying to build up the running time vs walking time, but I'm not up to where you are yet. You've given me hope that it will get better. Congrats!!!!
  • Just have to comment... this made me chuckle. THEORETICALLY is the key word. I have an 18 and 20 year old, so I understand!
  • I just started back to it last week. (By the way, I'm 50, too!) I think it is a great workout. I plan to do it once a week for now, right after a spin class that I do on Saturdays. I'm needing lots of help with flexibility and balance. I did it about 5 years ago for quite a while, and it did get better over time. I was…
  • Yeah, yesterday's post was a little more fun. Not a single gif yet......
  • I can now fit in the smallest size pants that I own. And, they're definitely not tight. In fact they are a little loose. I'm putting off buying new ones for a while, but this was a nice surprise!
  • I agree with this!!! My kids are 20 and 18 now and we still eat at the table. Do it! And make sure that even when they are teenagers that there are no cellphones or other devices with them. I think it is a good thing to pay attention to the meal!
  • Love this! Almost made me snort!
  • Very nice!!! You look great! Great inspiration for me and I'm sure, many others. I am 6 1/2 months in, and I am excited about what I will be at 365 days, too.
  • Love this thread! Mine - I need to do some laundry.... I was out of sports bras, so I decided to try an old one that was way too small a few months ago. It fits so well now! I realized that my other ones are WAY too big.
  • So, I totally opened this post because of the title. Love it! Made me laugh. I also like the responses you've received. Some good thoughts here, so I'll just add my support!
  • Oh...my...gosh!!!!! Almost skipped past this video without watching. I am so glad I watched it! Thank you for sharing this!! That is the most amazing transformation ever. Wow.
  • I have lots! - Motivation only gets you as far as the start, Dedication is what takes you to your goal. - You can feel sore tomorrow or you can feel sorry tomorrow. You choose. - Do not reward yourself with food. You're not a dog. - You don't have to be great to start. You have to start to be great. - Don't dig your grave…
  • These ideas are so awesome! I'm so glad I stumbled on this post!!!!!

  • I'm 50. I get up at 4:20 to make it to the gym before work. Is it easy? No. But, motivation only gets you started, dedication takes you to goal. You have to commit to it! You CAN do this, so don't allow anything to give you the excuse to stop.
  • Thanks for all of the support everyone! I know, one day won't hurt to miss Body Pump. I just like my routine. :) And thank you for the reminder that this is good that I could wait until now to have the procedure. I'm not too worried about it, just glad that it will be done and my doctor can find something else to…
  • Great thread! I turned 50 in December. That wasn't the turning point, though. Around the same time, I found out that my cousin who is slightly older than I am was fired from her job because she couldn't do it anymore because of her weight. She's now on disability at age 58. My other cousin, slightly younger, had 2 knee…
  • Thanks for the replies. Probably not a good idea to lift weights..... Sooooo looking forward to this. More humiliation from turning 50.
