I too have just reached maintenance but I'm not done. My body fat ratio is still high and I'm looking for 7% . So for me this is just the next phase. I plan to increase muscle mass staying at maintenance weight until my metabolism increase will consume more calories. Then I will be finished.

As a retired nurse I have some experience with insurance companies covering things. It's all about the documentation. You and your family Dr need to work together on documenting skin care. What the insurance company will not do is cosmetic surgery. So if you have any problems like a rash, irritation, sores anything go to…

The beef and pork have to be pureed then they will digest well enough. Randy

Hi Frances, you can do this. Try back to basics protein needs are your current weight times 0.3 each day. Water 36 to 64 oz each day. Eat 3 meals and 2 protein shakes as snakes. Skip counting carbs you won't have room for them. No sweeteners or sugars. Exercise the best solution would be swimming or water aerobic exercise.…

Here you go the calculation for protein is weight times 0.3 = protein in milligrams Randy

There is an other person on this list that had surgery in Mexico she lives in Washington state. It's normal to be nervous also, you are having surgery out of the country, reason to be nervous. You won't be having a full team like I have NUT, psychologist, physical therapy, and Dr follow up. What you have found is a great…

I'm also from the clean your plate generation. I hit my trigger and see just a bite or two left, I don't always choose the right answer. This is still a work in progress for me.
-
I'm the same way and didn't even tell family. Now at 7 months out a few of my friends have asked what I did and wanted to do what ever it was, know. I have just made it to maintenance, now I'm not so interested in keeping the information private.
-
Well I haven't been buying anything but I did start collecting recipes. That has subsided now I was concerned about it. At my last appointment with the psychologist, we talked about this. My psychologist said that I was making a lot of changes in my life right now, and to wait and see. Sure enough that obsession has faded…

Are you taking a ant-acid? If not ask your Dr about antacids. Randy RN
-
I don't know how or why this happens but I have the same problem. I just try to ignore it and say to myself just get busy and then I won't think about it. I'm seeing my psychologist soon and I can bring this issue up then, if I get a magic answer I'll pass it on to you.

I think at 2 weeks out everything makes a difference. I know I was still struggling to get the fluids down. In the beginning things will be changing fast. I didn't have any problems with my wife eating, I've been just following orders until I loose the weight. I continue to think about what I have gone through to this…

If you aren't taking an ant-acid ask your Dr for one. Also ask about taking something for your gall bladder. Randy RN

This is a major life event it's normal for us to have emotional swings and depression. The change is forever making it a big deal.
-
Success already your doing it, congratulations
-
You look great wow what a good change, I'm excited for you.
-
I'm 7 months out down 98 pounds and most of the time I still feel like I was before surgery. Everyone else can see the difference but I still struggle with how I see myself.
-
Good job we are excited for you

IMHO too many of us have scale syndrome we weight every day, and then have unrealistic expectations. My strongest advice is to only weight once a month. I'm just 2 pounds away from loosening 100. Weighed today if I hover over the scale it's like watching a pot boil. Randy

That's inspiring thank you for posting

The endoscopy should be no big deal, you will sleep through almost all of it. Randy RN

My surgery team has me at 1000 per day. When I have swimming and strength training I still struggle with being hungry.
-
Good deal, I'm happy for you. You deserve it keep up the good work.
-
Well I'm telling myself that the exercise will build muscle mass and muscles are heavier than fat. So staying at the same weight might be that I'm trading one for the other. Still making progress just not measured on the scale. Randy

I'm happy everything has gone well for you, it was the same for me.
-
That's great I'm happy for you

You sound like me, I've been working on losing my weight since surgery back in July. Now I've got about 20 pounds left to go. The pounds seem to be coming off harder, I've been exercising a lot too and hoping that that makes a difference. Although, I know adding muscle adds weight. so maybe I'm trading fat for muscle. I…
