It's been awhile since I've gotten to rant. Long overdue!

Yes yes and hell yes. I've lost about 60 lbs by simply eating within my calorie budget (even with cheat meals. I hate that name ) and just going on walks. Why would I limit what I eat? Like I'm going to act like a freaking cow and eat grass all day and hope the weight coming off alone will make me happy? No way. I still…

I try to keep it in the 5-6,000 calorie range on those days where I just let go. That way my daily calorie burn of 3,000 calories plus my daily 1000 calorie deficit means I should only be set back maybe 3 days or so

It sounds like you eye balled your portions in the beginning and got lucky. Now that you weigh less you need to be stricter in your calorie counting. Saying "well this looks like x amount of calories" ain't gonna cut it when you're trying to get down to your goal weight

Coffeencardio: as an actual introvert, I appreciate you pointing this out. Most misused word out there besides "literally"

Nothing wrong with being a bro, bro

It's just water. Whatever "bad ingredients" they might have aren't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. Don't worry too much about it
-
It's pretty much a sure thing that you've been miscounting and eating too much. Unless you have some killer fluid retention

I put on a shirt yesterday that my girlfriend was going to throw away awhile back because she said "you're had this forever! You're never going to fit in it!" Yeah? Now it fits and is actually a little loose! Eat that!

This is exactly why I haven't given up. I've wasted so many years of my life. Blew through my 20's without really accomplishing anything and never did anything to remember. Now that I'm in my 30's, it's time to start going out there and being one bad mofo

@amynb524 yep! This was quite awhile ago, but it's been a good learning experience. I know how my body reacts to different foods and exercise a bit better now. If I get a ton of exercise, I might fluctuate a pound or two for a day. If I eat a lot of sodium, might be all over the place for a few days. If I have a ginormous…

Change is hard. Now the trend seems to be to rather than change and put in the hard work to be healthy, to deny being fat is even a problem in the first place. The "fat acceptance" movement is in full force and gaining traction and if people don't speak up, the obesity epidemic is only going to get worse. Me personally…

I feel naked without my apple watch. The fact that it syncs perfectly with fitness pal is a huge motivator
-
I'm sorry but how do people logically think that they way more because they didn't eat anything? Wtf? You didn't eat anything. If you ate more, you're putting more into your body and--never mind. It just makes my head hurt

Spices and some sauces like sriracha or pace
-
It's true. I only ate 800 calories yesterday and gained 10 lbs. Good thing i don't do that everyday
-
...I know math adds up and the weight is coming off, i was just asking a couple things about the effects on the body of water retention. You know. For science reasons
-
Well it does in a way, but i don't change my behavior based around what it says anymore. It annoys me when it doesn't reflect the work i put in, but i just put the scale away and weigh again a couple days later. No biggie. It's always just a waiting game anyway. I'll see a number that makes no sense and then wait a couple…

I was in the same place as you recently. I discovered fitness pal back in 2013 and thought "hey. This is awesome. This makes weight loss so freaking easy i should be skinny in no time!" then i would do it for a bit...then revert back to comfort eating. It went against logic alot of times...like why the hell would i…

So what's the difference between neat and tdee? Same thing right?

That there are "good" and "bad" foods and that if you eat the bad, you instantly plump up and gain 20 lbs after eating that 1 cookie! It's funny now that I look back on it, while right now I eat whatever I want and lose it
-
I have the apple watch and love it for its fitness aspects, but I understand it might be out of some peoples price range. Especially if all they want is a fitness band first and foremost. I've had a couple fitbits and just loved them. They were hugely motivational and the new ones are even better with heart rate sensors…

The responses on this thread remind me why I love you guys so much.

I find that quite often people come here for validation of their own choices, not actual advice. "Tell me I'm right!" "NO" "You're bullying me"
-
I guess that's the best way to go about it. Maybe I'm just a little peeved because I remember having my own eating disorder and nobody corrected me. Nobody said anything. My own girlfriend let me put my health at risk and I wish SOMEONE would've said something to stop me from damaging my body so much. I just want to be of…

My entire post wasn't a call to arms of "let's mobilize and hit reddit hard! That'll show em" my post was simply asking whether it's acceptable when someone puts themselves out there, to comment on the low low calories they're eating. I see most people don't say much of anything and quite a few actually encourage them to…

I have before and gotten down voted to hell for it

As long as your pee is either lightly colored or clear, your good man. Don't worry so much about it. Just drink when you're thirsty!
-
I didn't get mine until day 5, so be prepared for the worst

I miss the old Fitbit app. Do you remember how awesome it was? It would show what you've burned vs your projected burn for the entire day. So if you say your projected burn go down, then you know "hey I need to get up and be active or else!" One of the cases where they changed it for the worse
