Ah, the natural fallacy... Processing is bad! Unless it's fermentation of alcohol, or the processing involved in making stevia extract, or processing to make tofu or soy milk, or the processing known as cooking, or canning or smoothie-making... SELECTIVE natural fallacy.

Plenty people here seem to swear by "You Are Your Own Gym" by Mark Lauren (book on Amazon, plenty of Youtube videos)

Don't rely on other people to validate your plan for motivation... I started with starting walking to and from work for a couple months. An extra 5km of walking each day made a huge difference. I try to take the stairs when I can, and will even change my path to add stairs in. Then, I started with the treadmill so that I…

If it was water, it's 1mL = 1gm. Mayo is surely a different density than water though. Though, now that I think about it, my peanut butter claimed 1tbsp (15mL) was equivalent of 15gm... I didn't think it looked right when I weighed it.

Hard to start drama if you don't tell the person... :D

You're in for some stimulating discussion on detoxes. You might want to read about what science has to say about the need for and efficacy of detoxes... http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4083

If only you would tell us what you ate to get down that far... :smokin:

I think you might want to watch some people who grew up eating with chopsticks... it's only slow if you learned as an adult. I learned as an adult, and I find it quicker and easier to eat many things with chopsticks.

Gozer: Sub-creatures! Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, the Traveller has come! Choose and perish! Ray Stantz: What do you mean, choose? We don't understand! Gozer: Choose! Choose the form of the Destructor!

True, you can lose weight eating under your BMR, but you're likely going to feel lousy while you do it. You can lose just as well by eating a sane amount, with the added benefit that you should feel less of a need to stab anyone.

Could be frosting eaten out of a jar with your fingers... calories is calories (more or less)

Plus, if all these miracle pills worked, there'd be a lot fewer fat people around.
-
It's horrible that people keep bashing these Dr. Oz miracle products, and instead push people to drink more water. It's like they don't even realize how dangerous water IS! This PDF explains it all: http://www.dhmo.org/msds/MSDS-DHMO-Kemp.pdf

Go with the homeopathic version - it comes right out of your tap...

What's a detox without a good colon cleanse?

If it looks like a duck, and it acts like a duck and it sounds like a duck... it's a quack.

I've been walking for 40 minutes @6-8%incline, between 3 and 3.5mph, max HR about 160, avg about 140. My Digifit with an HRM give me a burn of around 725-750 the last couple days. Digifit's a bit higher number than the treadmill's display, though they use the same HR feed. ETA: Interesting. Plugged in my numbers at…

Clueless that the reason they don't shop there is because he doesn't have anything in their size.

If you're ravenously hungry, maybe you need to eat more? Especially if you've ramped up the exercise but not the caloric intake.

Yes, and you raised it from the dead. Necrothreadmancer.

So... 14lbs x 3500 calories = 49000 calories. Assuming a medium sized banana with 100 calories (for easy mathing)... That's 490 bananas.
-
So long as you aren't diabetic or have some other condition, and you don't eat 30 bananas a day or drink nothing but 'fruit' smoothies from Jugo Juice or gallons of fruit juice, then you should be okay. Just track your calories.

Big bones don't cause your stomach to roll over the top of your pants, or cause your upper arm to wave in the wind...

I'd only recently heard the term, but I think Super Obese should come with a cape.
-
According to the colour charts, my eyes are "blue". I don't consider them blue. The BMI charts are a population guideline... you can consider yourself skinny for all it cares, but the clinical term will remain "obese." It's only an ugly word if you give it power. Same with the BMI charts... they don't have any power, but…

Stop putting it in your face...?
-
Yes, stop your cardio as soon as you notice you might be perspiring, and hit the showers. Wouldn't want to offend. Maybe that'll teach anyone who doesn't leave that "courtesy machine" separation when the gym's not busy.
