I would not run to HR. While she is certainly acting like a jerk, her conduct does not seem tho fit the legal definition of harassment. (based on race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or other protected category.) Tell her to stop, if she doesn't ask your supervisor to talk to…

Lol. I do the same thing. I'll bust my butt doing circuit training with my trainer so I can have pizza and beer that night.
-
I use one. Honestly, I don't know how anyone can truly know how many calories they're consuming if they don't use one.

If you do decide to hire one, you might want to spend some time in the gym watching them before you choose one. The trainers at my gym run the gamut from awesome to total suck. I picked one who was always very focused on his clients and appeared to really love what he does - and I've been very happy with my choice. Good…

I second this. Hiring a trainer has been money well spent for me. I'm consistently losing 2.5 pound per week, I'm learning a lot and I feel wonderful. Give working with a trainer a try - they're not as expensive as you might think.

I don't care how many steps I've taken, I care about the accuracy of calories burned. I ordered a Bodymedia core after reading this. http://www.getgrok.com/2013/01/a-comparative-review-28-days-with-the-fitbit-one-jawbone-up-nike-fuelband-and-bodymedia-link/

Your google must work differently than mine. I got completely different results from you, when I just did a search in google. And a search in Google Scholar provided links to several different scientific studies.

I love this! I'm going to start tracking mine.

Google protein pancakes. There are a ton of good recipes for them out there. Edit: Here's a helpful thread. They taste great with a little low sugar jam on them. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/961244-protein-pancake-recipe

This is an interesting comparison between devices. http://www.getgrok.com/2013/01/a-comparative-review-28-days-with-the-fitbit-one-jawbone-up-nike-fuelband-and-bodymedia-link/

Buy one that also displays your body water percentage. (Weight Watchers has one made by Conair) If you keep your hydration level consistent, the numbers are more accurate. Edit: By the way, the above mentioned scale carries the Good Housekeeping seal of approval.

Leg press. It makes my lower back feel great.

I had the same problem. I started off with an old scale at home, and when I weighed myself at the gym, I found that it was off by several pounds. I bought a new body analysis scale but hadn't updated my info. I'm updated now - Thanks for the link!

I bought a pair of Nike gloves at Target for $12. They were the only ones I could find locally that came in extra small. They're comfortable and they do the job.

Shirataki noodles instead of pasta. It satisfies my pasta cravings for a lot less calories and carbs.
-
I second squats and dead lifts - you'll see some great results.
-
I love their Cinnamon Raisin bread! Ezekiel tortillas and English muffins are really good, too.

Ditto

Thanks for taking the time to share your review - I'm going to buy one.

I make my own because I like to keep it low fat. If you cook the chick peas in a small crock pot over night, you can use the liquid left in the crock pot to thicken your hummus, instead of oil. I make mine with Chick peas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, salt and cayenne pepper. It's delicious.

Give Shirataki noodles a try in place of pasta and see if you like them. (Low carbs, high fiber.) You can find them at Whole Foods. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/products/p/shiratakinoodle.htm

I lost my first 25 in 9 weeks (I'm at 30 lbs lost now, but 20 since I joined MFP, hence the reading on my ticker) I use 1200 calories as my base (I eat more when I work out) I do 30 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes of cardio, three times a week.
-
Good source of fiber and essential fatty acids. I add them to my protein shakes because the fiber helps me stay full.
-
$27 per month for the gym and $136 per month for 8 sessions with my trainer. Money well spent.
-
If you aren't weighing your food, adding your own recipes, and logging everything you eat, then you really don't know if you are eating 1200 calories or not. I'd suggest buying a digital food scale if you don't have one already. I use one now and it has really helped me to stay on track with my calories. Good luck!

Their Cinnamon Graham Cracker flavor is delicious. Especially with a tablespoon of PB2 or the sugar free, fat free, Cheesecake flavor instant Jello mix added in.
-
One pound of muscle is equal in weight to one pound of fat.
-
Why would you think it would ruin one's metabolism?
-
1200 calories is working fine for me, and I'm close in height/weight to the OP. I'm losing 2 pounds a week, just like MFP said I would. I'm lifting weights 3 times a week, and I feel great! Everyone is different.

Maybe add oatmeal? It offers a good nutritional bang for your buck and you can change it up by adding a little fruit or cinnamon or what have you. If money is an issue, you might want to look at buying frozen vegetables. They're a really good deal when you get them on sale.
