If it's not a medical issue, then as others have said: slow down and breathe through both your nose and mouth to get as much air as possible. Try to get into a rhythm. When you're starting out in running, often at the beginning of a run you'll feel crappy and out of breath, but push through it and find a nice pace and…

Two reasons: A. They are fat and envious of your weight loss. B. They are used to seeing you at your former weight and that is their reference for "normal" for you, even if you were overweight. Now you lose some weight and look skinny or sickly to them. Given time with the new you, they will get used to it. I got that a…

I love these runs. I've done two Warrior Dashes, Rugged Maniac, and Tough Mudder Arizona. Your best preparation is running. I would agree trail running would be preferable, but that is my preferred running anyway. Some upper body strength and grip strength is helpful also. Tough Mudder is meant for camaraderie, so you are…

Take a hard look at the BlendTec as well. Every bit the quality and power of VitaMix, but a bit less expensive. Also has the benefit of digital control with preset programs for soups, dips, smoothies, etc. Is also a little bit shorter so it will fit on your counter under your upper cabinets with the pitcher on. I…

Yep, actual running is harder than most machines. Keep at it, you'll improve!

It's hard to calculate, but if you want to guesstimate, just enter your strength workouts as "calisthenics" under cardio.

The second one, in the black outfit.

Can barely walk and have salt stains all over my shirt.

The extra protein won't hurt you, in fact more is better, but it can put you over your calories. If you're going to be over in any macronutrient, protein is probably where you want it.

I'm 41 years old. On a recent 2-mile run at an average pace of 7:20, my average heart rate was 161 with a max of 178. On a recent 10.5 mile trail run at an average pace of 10:50, my average heart rate was still 161 with a max of 174. So on the trail run, even though I was running slower, my heart rate was about the same…

The HRMs with just finger touch can work, but only if your intensity is steady state or you are religious about rechecking your heart rate every time you change intensity because it only knows that your heart rate has increased or decreased when you touch the sensors and calculates your calorie burn at that heart rate…

I started doing some stretches and switched to minimalist shoes to keep me from heel striking when running downhill which was what aggravated it the most. Since those changes, no IT band issues whatsoever.

I think Almonds and Walnuts have the most health benefits, but I don't care for them by themselves so I usually put them on salads. For eating plain, I love Cashews and Pistachios. Some of those and a stick of light string cheese is my usual evening snack.

I don't eat a lot of snacky junk like chips and candy and soda, but I still eat plenty of fast food and did when I was losing weight too. Just have to keep it reasonable and stay within your goals. For example, I might have a burger, but I'll have it with a side salad instead of fries and diet soda or iced tea instead of…

Sounds like you can pull it off, but remember you can always walk a portion if you need to. Sounds like the cause is more important to you than your finish time anyway. Good luck!

And a medical test is now state-sanctioned rape just because the test is required before you get to kill your baby? So the same women who have no problem having a fetus ripped out with tongs would somehow feel invaded by getting an ultrasound? Curious.

The medical definition of gestational age is the beginning of the mother's last period, or 14 days prior to fertilization. So the definition in the law is consistent with obstetric practice. Stop believing the spin of the liberal alarmist websites.

Crab legs. Takes an hour of work to get a tablespoon of meat out of the damn things. :)

Garmin 310XT. Goes from my wrist mount to a bike mount in a snap, waterproof, and monitors heart rate. Downloads wirelessly to my computer as soon as I walk in the door. All the features I could want. Love it.

I'm nearly 42. Been on MFP daily for well over a year. I've reached my goal weight, but I still log daily to stay on track with diet and exercise and I'm continuing to improve my fitness as much as I can. I don't go post crazy and comment on every little thing everyone does, but I'll jump in when it's warranted. Friend…

I think crab falls in that category because you have to work for an hour to get like a 1/4 cup of meat. Hahaha

I live pretty much at the base of the San Tan Mountains where I usually trail run, but it's about a 4 mile drive to the trail head from my house.

I totally want one of those right now!

Cut off one of your legs

This seems like fun. I just downloaded your whole playlist to check it out. I too will have to wait for the Android app to be released to give it a try though...

I'll be in the 1pm wave!

I'm in Queen Creek and always open to local friends on here.

The way they use kettlebells on Biggest Loser is goofy. Their kettlebell swings are more of an arm and shoulder exercise than a hip and leg exercise like they should be. Check out books and DVDs from Dragon Door (Pavel Tsatsouline) and Art of Strength. These are people that brought kettlebells into the limelight in the US,…
