  • Yeah it's the sweeteners (aspartame etc) that some people have a problem with. Apparently they've been linked to developing cancer, MS and other things. But hasn't everything? I'm sure if you just have a can of it occasionally it won't harm you.
  • Me! My legs get a battering from running/HIIT/circuit training so it really helps to iron out the knots! Soooo painful sometimes though!
  • I won't give up anything. Just keep the things that I know make me fat to a minimum
  • Meat/poultry Fish Eggs Nuts Yogurt (greek/natural) Quark Whey protein powder Pulses Soya/tofu I like mixing it up a bit :)
  • I've never tried it but I heard that you can eat as many Muller Light yogurts as you like which I find a bit weird because they are full of sugar and although one of them doesn't have many calories if you literally did eat as many as you like on top of your normal meals surely you'd be consuming loads of calories? Could be…
  • I find that a whole cheat day is not a good idea as you can potentially ruin your hard work not even realising how much extra you're taking in. One cheat meal works better I think :) My exclusions to this are holidays (I'm going for an all inclusive week in Greece next week - uh-oh), birthday, Christmas and Easter lol.…
  • I'd be interested to know as well, I've seen it work for a lot of people but others have slated it! Personally I'm trying to shift the last half a stone and wondering if it would work for me!
  • I used to have a cup of coffee (caffeinated) with breakfast every morning. I gave up coffee for a month and replaced that breakfast coffee with green tea. Now I only occasionally have a coffee with breakfast and don't miss it at all. Still love my coffee but realise I didn't need it every morning like I thought I did.
  • Frozen are MUCH better value! A big bag is like £2-£3 and take over a week to get through instead of like 2 days for the fresh ones! Fresh are nice every so often though
  • Berries and nuts/celery and houmous are 2 favourites of mine. Also if you check the recipe section you could make protein bars in bulk which taste good and are easy to carry around
  • I've got a vegan one at the moment by a company called Sativa Shakes - it's quite expensive but might be worth it if it works for you :)
  • Lindt chocolate truffles, and walkers sensations crisps!
  • I normally rest on a Sunday. I ache most of the week from my training so I figure a rest day is necessary by that point.
  • I normally do after work (starting somewhere between 5 and 6 pm) because it means I don't have to get up at 5am to go before work. On occasion though I have done spin class/a run/a swim or a gym session before work but that is not a regular thing!
  • I think any of the full fat ones are fine as long as you don't overeat them. The "reduced fat" ones are full of crap - I got a Sainsburys reduced fat one and it tasted like peanut butter flavour icing sugar - yuck. I have the whole earth crunchy variety in my drawer at work, perfect spread on Ryvita for a pre workout snack…
  • Healthy food for me are nuts and nut butter! They just taste so amazing. Unhealthy gorging foods are normally carbs - things like crisps and those "breakfast" biscuits all the brands are releasing, can munch through those so easily
  • Weekends are the worst for me! I just suddenly want to eat everything after being good all week lol
  • Mine is fat free quark/fromage frais, handful of mixed berries, handful of mixed nuts, tsp of honey and tsp of nut butter.
  • Banana and coffee works for me as well! Not that I am a "runner" but I have a 10k coming up , followed by a 6k obstacle course/cross country run so I've been practising
  • Yes loads of times it's happened to me however a trainer at my gym made me laugh. He said he went to Pizza Express and was being very smug about having a goat's cheese salad. When I was preparing a trip to Pizza Express myself I was looking at the nutritional information on their website as I do when going out for dinner,…
  • In my opinion, eggs are great. Tasty, nutritious, protein rich. What's not to love?

  • I have to agree, I can't understand all these sugary products that are marketed as being "healthy". Would prefer a Cadbury Freddo any day!
  • High protein content, particularly in the fat free varieties. As others have said , a lot of your regular yogurts have loads of sugar and additives, a greek yogurt like Total (fage) has nothing added in. So damn expensive though!
  • Google "nics nutrition" - she is a registered dietician, some awesome healthy recipes on there including healthy versions of desserts
  • I'm also in 2 minds about this. My PT told me that fruits such as bananas inhibit weight loss due to the sugar content and should only be consumed before training. However, other professionals argue that fruits are so nutrient dense and that the sugar comes from natural sources and is unrefined therefore fine to consume.…
  • I have PCOS. Don't worry, your life is not ruined. Basically, you just need to be sensible and controlled about what you eat. To be fair I'm fortunate that I do not suffer the extreme symptoms but I know I can't get away with overindulging regularly. However - I can still enjoy treats within moderation. For me, I eat a…
  • It certainly worked for me. If it's fat loss you're after, by no means do you need to cut them out. Just eat the right amount that you need for fuel. I think people are very used to having a large portion of carbs with every meals (aka eggs on toast, fish and potatoes, chicken and rice etc). I would be inclined to have a…
  • It's very bland but it's very good at absorbing other flavours - so if you like spice, make a spicy sauce and leave the tofu to marinade in it for a while! Then you could bake or stir fry it
  • Not like any binge I've ever been on. No chocolate or doughnuts or anything. Looks like a pretty healthy but substantial meal, I wouldn't beat yourself up over that one (though yeah you might be visiting the bog a few times lol).
  • I agree with banana. When I am doing early morning workouts I'll have a banana beforehand which provides me with lots of energy and then a proper breakfast after :) I know everybody is different but works for me so maybe worth a try
