I've set my goal at 1500... But I do often fit in some chocolate or something to keep me sane. But you could replace that with like a banana or something?
-
Anybody got any ideas of veggie recipes which are also high in protein? :)
-
Yeah I agree with this. Trying to get the hang of fitting daily treats into my calories/macros rather than have one massive blow out cheat meal/day/weekend which spoils everything I've done for the rest of the week
-
Me neither. I guess it depends on the individual though.

Kale makes me feel so sick, I think it's because I had so much of it once that I was forcing large quantities of it down at each meal. It got very awful very quickly.

I don't hate them. I don't love them either really tbh (oh, except berries). I'll have berries and bananas regularly as I like those, don't force myself to have anything else though! Prefer veg in all honesty

I have them pre workout as I find them to be a fantastic and delicious energy boost! Also its great if you're working out before breakfast. I do have other pre workout snacks though so I don't get bored but bananas are a favourite of mine :)

HAHAHAH

I agree with protein shakes. Beef jerky is tasty as well

Yeah, my BF monitor scales are awful. This morning I had 4 different readings all within about 3 minutes of each other varying by 3%

I don't care what other people eat. I stopped eating huge portions of junk food because it made me unhealthy and look and feel like crap. However I completely understand why people eat like this because it tastes fantastic. Live and let live - if they're happy let them be.

hahaha i also have been told not to eat carrotts as they are too starchy. Also was told not to go to spin class as it is rubbish for helping to lose weight and will just make my legs fatter. Also got told that an apple by itself is fattening, but an apple with nuts is not. I could go on...

Great advice - thanks!

In my opinion (though some disagree) fruit is a perfectly acceptable thing to snack on. You can eat too much of anything, but I don't think a few grapes are going to cause an issue. I'm over on sugar every day due to my pre workout banana, some berries and a tsp of honey but I never pay any attention and I've still managed…

As far as I know it's only bad for you if you are lactose intolerant. I've never had an issue with dairy even though I have PCOS (a lot of the "PCOS diets" out there say to AVOID!) - have eaten dairy the whole way through my weight loss and had no problems.
-
I have and I haven't. I'm pleased to say that I've never gone back to being the massive fatty that I was a few years ago, but my weight does go up and down, it can differ to as much as a stone throughout a year!

^ Sorry - personal trainer

My belly hurts, like I've done a really intense abs workout (maybe in a messed up way I kind of have lol). I feel sluggish, bloated, sick and not up to doing much. Green tea and unprocessed food normally helps me to get back to normal

My PT recommended something called "branch chain amino acids" must admit I haven't bought any yet!

I'd be inclined to say up your protein a bit if you can. It genuinely does keep you feeling full and satisfied for a lot longer than carbs do. That said, I'm not anti carb and find them an excellent source of energy for my workouts and my day in general - maybe just mix up the sources you get your calories from a bit to…

Thank you! I have today for the first time during the week had a sweet treat after dinner which was 150 calories and I am not hungry and I feel that I have had something different and tasty today (not that the usual protein and veg, occasional porridge etc is not tasty but it's not a "treat" either). My calories came to a…

Thanks Tiffany, it's comforting to know I am not alone. Feel completely helpless sometimes, but really want to beat this so I am going to try what others have suggested and stop building it all up to the weekend which seems to result in all out binges! Fingers crossed.
-
Thanks, yeah its a shame you can't just enjoy what you planned to enjoy and not go overboard. I am going to try upping my calories slightly each day to allow a daily treat, see if that works :) Thanks all
-
Thank you everyone! I will open my diary! I set myself a 1800 calorie target (for maintenance as I got to the BF% I wanted, but now unsurprisingly I've put a couple of percent back on) - but I very rarely eat this. I normally eat 1400 at the most and then exercise on top. I think I am going to try incorporating the smaller…

Thank you very much :)!

I struggle with bingeing too. Can anybody that has successfully broken the "cycle" tell me - do you now abstain completely from "treat" food or have you found a way to enjoy them without going overboard? I worry that if I restrict myself completely, all the time, it will end up resulting in the biggest binge yet...

As above! it isn't fat that you've gained, so don't worry. Just return to normal and you'll be fine and probably not the best to weigh yourself straight after a cheat meal as other posters have said water retention happens and this can be very de motivating.
-
Probably sounds stupid but I always brush my teeth after dinner to stop myself from snacking as a kind of "that's it for tonight" kind of thing - seems to work weirdly enough.
-
Yeah also as above some salad dressings?! Makes them higher in calories than a massive sub!

I once got a cheese board at a set menu dinner I went to thinking "oh no I can't have that chocolate cake, think of all the sugar". I then found out that the cheese board contained 1200 cals - LOL. I probably should've known, its bl00dy chese!
