I don't. But there are some really fun quickbreads (mainly corn bread variations) that I enjoy. I don't get this reaction from all recipes, but it seems like this one called for a LOT of chemical leaveners.

It's really sweet of you to share your story. Thanks!

126 looks fantastic on plenty of women who are 5' 3" Check my pics out... I'm at 130 right now. Dont be depressed! And congrats on your progress!!!

Social support will be HUGE. Maybe consider doing small group training. You can meet some cool people that way. It's hard to make friends in this age range, unless youre close with people at work or have a lot of nearby college friends.

I'm not really sure. A psychiatrist will help with medication. A therapist will provide talk therapy or other assistance. Maybe a combination of the two will help for you? I find talk therapy counterproductive for me, since it allows me to relive past trauma. But at this point you should definitely see someone, keeping in…

Honestly, I think the mental health is the top priority for someone like you. I struggled with depression for years and came out of it with a combination of medication, lots of learning, and lifestyle / behavioral changes. One thing that helps me stay healthy is finding comfort in ritual and routine. You could conceivably…

A good reason to use the sauna is to warm up quickly before your workout. Especially if it's cold outside. You won't burn any calories. People who cut weight for events (wrestlers, etc) like to work out in a sweatsuit in the sauna...to lose water weight. You don't actually burn any calories just sitting in there, and you…

What about this new app, Lean Machine nutrition? Anyone tried it? http://www.leanmachinenutrition.com/

How could you effectively evaluate any other side of the story, when you only have access to half of the people involved? I will not spend one additional moment defending myself to you.

My loyalty and integrity is beyond reproach. Why you feel the need to insinuate otherwise is a mystery to me. I'm sorry if you've had negative experience that led you to feel this way about people in general.

Having nothing to hide doesn't make it okay to violate your privacy consistently. If you feel the need to snoop something is wrong with you, the relationship, or both. It absolutely, completely and totally unacceptable to snoop through your loved one's phones, emails, etc.

Lol. Really? Never did. Kid was a psychopath and guilt is a mirror. Good riddance.

Very true.

I feel like, for someone who is a significantly overweight non-athlete... c25k is basically their version of HIIT. You think that's fair?

So this is key, actually. If you have a higher bf percentage, you may be able to go lower than 120. I cannot, because at 120, my bf% was down around 15-16 and that's really threshold for me. You *could* go lower but there's no real reason to dip below 15% on purpose. If you feel skinny fat, now is the time to get a…

While not very precise, this is true! OP, since you don't have ready access to gym equipment, I've added some bodyweight exercise links. Should give you some fun stuff to try and it will be challenging enough until you've progressed considerably. http://darebee.com/workouts.html…

Wow, that's awesome progress. Congrats. I'm 5'3" and my body type looks pretty bad with anything less than 120. But I have a lot of muscle, so 120 and below starts looking skeletal on me. Pay attention to how you feel, how much you enjoy the lifestyle required to maintain that, and what your body composition is like.

This morning, I was talking it the Sig O about the overall tone and utility of these forums. His thesis is that facebook killed the forum. He mentioned that he gets way better advice from real athletes and experts on a few key pages he follows. Apparently they are carefully curated and moderated by the owners to eliminate…

Update: I've found that man! <3 It's been a couple of years, and I found it funny to see this thread sitting there in the distant past.

I dont think thats controversial at all. I think there's a lot to doing fun things over just functional drudgery. I play in two soccer leagues year round and it's a huge benefit for me. Then again, I'm an athlete who does speedwork weekly (HIIT) and likes things that are beneficial AND make me feel good.. so maybe I'll…

Ok. Be helpful. And don't be presumptuous and dismissive of helpful advice when you assume there's some fad science in it. It's like you're just itching to condescend to someone.

How many do you have time for ;)

It tastes great in a vinaigrette and can make a lower cal option for salad dressing.

There's not really any way to "jump start" or "speed up" your metabolism, so why NOT recommend things that are *actually helpful* for someone trying to lose weight...
-
I didnt recommend fasted cardio. I just recommend doing it in the morning. It improves your energy and focus throughout the day, is correlated with better workout adherence in general (long work days dont get in the way if you do it first thing), and you will typically sleep better (as opposed to doing it in the evenings).…

OP, you're right to focus on what you can do for neural adaptation versus muscular adaptation. You can't obviously do all of one or the other, since they work together. But unfortunately, I don't have a lot of guidance for you. This isn't something I've spent much time with and I am much more successful at fine tuning my…

I should also add that low carb will help with water weight too. So, if you are dealing with some inflammation from training (which I know I experience about once a week), low carb will reduce that. One gram of glycogen will retain 3-4 grams of water, so if you reduce carb intake enough hit your glycogen stores, you can…

I hear you, girl. I'm the same way. People are hysterically quick to condescend to you. I noticed that I dont put on as much mass when I'm just slightly carb depleted. So I will go low carb leading up to a race, and cut weight. And then when I add enough carbs for race performance, I only do that for as many weeks as…

How do you work out? If you are looking for better results than what you're currently seeing, maybe try HIIT. It's not magic or anything, but I feel like it helps people really increase their workout intensity without burning out or getting injured.

16 oz of water as soon as you wake up. Cardio in the am before work.
