  • I have stayed nauseous since I started taking it a month ago. It's supposed to go away. I only realize I'm hungry, is when I get grouchy and irritable. Too bad that doesn't go away too. :)
  • I have BlueCross/BlueShield of AL. I found out today it is up to your company whether weight loss/management is covered under your insurance. I assume the cost of coverage is different. Mine does not over it, so I am not certain what I am going to do. The odd thing is that they will cover bariatric surgery. It's nuts!!!!
  • I made my own sharps container from a plastic container. Sams Club sells Magic Erasers and they come in a box that is the perfect size. I just cut a hole in the top. I tape it up and label it, then send it to the landfill. This is probabaly not the best way, I just don't know of anyone that will dispose of the container…
  • I started Saxenda 2 weeks ago and have lost 8 lbs. I know it won't keep up at that pace, I am also still on the lowest dose because it's working for me. I was extremely hesitant to try because I have had horrible side effects with stimulant diet medications. This is not at all like them. I am almost never hungry, I have a…
  • I found I start flushing when I start exercising. It's weird because my whole body turns red and I haven't started to exert myself.
  • I have been wearing Brooks and Saucony, both are great. I started out with them when I was 287 lbs. For the gym (classes and circuit training), the Saucony Ride or Guide models give me the best support. I don't have to worry about my ankles turning. I use the Brooks for the elliptical. If a stability shoe like the Guide…
  • I have the same issue. However, as I lost weight the MFP calories went down and the calories from the machines went up. I bought a Polar HRM to try and figure where I really am, it was a shock to find the HRM had me at about 200 calories less than either for an hour on the elliptical. Ugh.... I have since read an article…
  • Your post could not have come at a better time!!!! I started going to the gym, much like you did. I knew I needed a change, but wasn't unhealthy so there was no big push. I realize now I was unhealthy. My trainer and I had put a 100 lb loss goal for my 1 year mark. I didn't make it. I did lose 98 lbs, but.. Since I missed…
  • I love my elliptical, but have just started going to Spin classes also. I like anything that gets my endorphins pumping! :)
  • I had a lot of weight to lose so I hired a personal trainer. I keep my calories around 1200 but also keep my carbs around 65 grams. When I start to plateau she tweaks the carb intake some and that always seems to give me the push I need. I know the carb number is way under MFP recommended, but it has made a huge difference…
  • Unfortunately, yes. I had been using the calories burned from the elliptical machines, but when I started using a HR monitor I discovered they were very different. My trainer said I really needed to go by HR, not what the machines told me because the monitors use your fitness level based on heart beats, not just weight and…
  • I'm going to give you the advice which always makes me want to cry, or scream. Be patient! I started at 290 lb and have lost almost 30 pounds, your body will have to shift and adjust to the weight loss before you really start seeing the size difference. I always see a size change when my weight loss stalls and vice versa.…
  • I got a personal trainer to work with 2 days a week. We just added a third day. :) I am going broke. LOL
  • If I'm really sweaty I take a shower, if not I take a "bird bath".
  • Mini goals, what a great idea! Thank you.
