5'4" female Connecticut SW: 227 CW:180 GW: 165 & see how I feel

I agree with all of the above, but for me, I need to decide/plan to have a full protein serving at every meal if I want to meet my goal for the day... Greek yogurt or maybe an egg with bacon for breakfast, chicken or tuna with lunch, and maybe fish with dinner. Snack may be apple/carrots w nut butter. Nut butters have more…

I did WW a long time ago- but I think that it's a good way to encourage people who more than likely aren't eating many fruits & veg to eat them & learn to try new recipes, etc. Also for them to learn how their bodies feel more full on healthier foods. Most people aren't obese bc they eat too many natural (grows in the…

There's a similar blanket - I saw it 2 days ago on Kickstarter. Would be neat if it actually worked, but... $$

I think it's great OP wants to eat a balanced diet... I made the heart breaking decision a few years ago to give my bread machine away. Had to be done! I used it to make fresh rolls & cinnamon roll dough but lived alone and ate ALL of it. With lots of butter!! It was the best decision for me. I can't trust myself with a…

This was so true for me! I used to sweat profusely (so attractive!) in one armpit & had to use clinical strength antiperspirant. That totally went away and I didn't think about it til now. I frequently felt dizzy/GI issues when it was hot, hot unless it was 70 degrees or cooler. Now, I carry a sweater to stores/movies/work…

I just like when guys wear gym clothes that fit (not too baggy or sloppy)

I would try more on- you should feel great about what you buy/wear

I also started 2 Diet Bets, but it took me 6 months to decide to put that $ on the line! There are maintenance DBs & step DBs, but I decided to try a 6 month Transfirmer and a 4 week Kickstarter (hasn't ended yet, but I will meet my goal easy peasy).

Cream cheese & green olives on toast!! My mom used to eat PB & raw Spanish onions on toast. And my grandmother loved hot dogs (must be sliced in rounds), cheddar, & stewed tomatoes (cooked together), open faced, over toast.

You CAN conquer this aspect of your life... but it's something you will need to work on every.single.day. I'm not trying to disappoint you, but that's why people say "diets don't work", bc it's seen as a quick (temporary) fix. MFP does absolutely work, but you will need to learn a lot (starting here on MFP) and make health…

I would suggest you take some group classes with a live instructor. They will offer modifications & can help you make adjustments to do it correctly, minimizing risk of injury & maximizing results. Plus, I work harder in a class than when I practiced at home. Something about doing the same thing as other people at the same…

Pre-log during the work week. I make my breakfast & lunch to bring with me. If I plan to go out (or eat Oreos!), I pre-log those, too. Dinner depends on how late I get home after gym & if/what my workout was after work.

I try to eat it dry or use as an after dinner snack. Or w yogurt, but then it's mostly just a topping. It's so sad- I love cereal so much- "healthy" or sugary

@wedyleigh: thanks for the knixwear info! I want to try them- they are sold out of a lot of items, and are having a sale ATM.

Why it's so hard to find cute (closed toe) summer work shoes that aren't sneakers

PS those "endorphins" only kick in when you can do a "workout" for longer duration, so you need to build endurance to get there. No-one told me that before, and so I thought I couldn't handle it... Once I got to jogging and spinning and hiking for 45 minutes at a clip a few times a week, it started to fall into place. You…

@Bookworm: yes, it has turned around for me a lot! Of course part of it was just losing weight so I had less to move in the first place, but I tried a bunch of different things along the way. Its a process. I liked strength training, and knew that I should try to lift a bit heavier than most of the other women I saw. So I…

I also used to be majorly cranky about exercise- I was single, no kids, had a great job, commute was 30 min so not bad... so, totally lame. I actually cried while working out once just bc I hated it SO much!! And all everyone ever says is how great the endorphins feel, blah blah blah. I wanted to punch all those people-…

Agree! I went to college in RI and live in CT- there are many delicious Italian restaurants & pizza options around! (There is an amazing one tucked into a strip mall across the street from the OG, but very tiny.) I guess the appeal is it's proximity to the mall in my case. And next door to the Dead Lobster, where the…

You are doing great! I also would suggest going clothes shopping & bring a close friend or family member to take some pics of you trying on new clothes in smaller sizes & newer styles bc you will see yourself in a new way when you have a few new pieces :-) You can do selfies, but having someone else help you figure out what…

I can relate- I was afraid that if I was physically smaller, I would also be less significant as a person?!? It makes no sense, but obviously I found the opposite to be true. More attention was very strange at first, but it helped me to be more outgoing, not less.

Short answer: I didn't use a "diet plan" to lower mine. Just this site/app and weighing & logging what I ate & consistent light to moderate exercise (less than what you are doing). I'm younger than you, but loosing weight (and consequently eating more nutritious food + exercise) fixed mine. I see you're doing well with the…

I've had this happen twice: once when I was a teenager (17-18) & was trying to be a vegetarian (badly!)- took maybe 3-4 months before I looked & felt better, but I had hair loss, and that got better much faster. It was a few more months before my bloodwork was close to normal. Happened again when I was about 25-26... I was…

40 something... denies this "middle age" thing  Lost maybe 50 pounds before, life intervened... close to where I was and have bigger goals now! Looking for new friends

Not sure if you're a woman or a man, but if you're a woman- have you had a gyno visit recently? It's possible there could be a problem & may warrant a visit if a GI specialist clears you. Better safe than sorry

Flintstones! Has what I need (iron, vit D, etc) without being wasteful or expensive. I like the way they taste  Until my Dr tells me I need something else, I'm sticking with it.

Do you think you're getting enough exercise? Maybe take a short walk at lunch?
