Used to be a once a day/everyday on the scale but recently moved to once a week but am thinking about going back to daily. It's an accountability thing for me.

You had me at...boobs...

My wife refers to me as the garage door worrier. There are nights when I'll check both garage doors on multiple occassions and I too have turned around to go back just to make sure that the garage door is closed. I also apparently have a tendency to touch my nose with my tongue when I'm deliberating over a serious issue.

I'm more in line with the one meal crowd here. I do plan a cheat meal. It's my way of rewarding myself otherwise, my motivation can sag and I get into the woe is me, is this even worth it and binge right off the wagon. The one thing I always make sure is that my binge meal is bracketed by a workout that morning and a…

Agree completely with this. While I haven't been successful every single day, I am committed to being healthy. Previously I've had unhealthy years of poor eating and zero excercise and those times have been significantly reduced. It is truly a commitment but the only person I'm committing to is me. My health and my fitness…

It may sound cliche' but plan your meals and take your lunch. The biggest challenge I always seem to face is getting the "right" calorie counts. When I take my lunch I always seem to end up in the evening trying to figure out how to make my dinner with enough calories to close out at 1200 for the day. When I grab lunch…

Underbid and overperform. If answer lightly active, you're going to be in the ball park and once the calories begin to burn the weight is either going to come off or you'll maintain and you can adjust from there.

Keep up the good work!!

Stunning! What a transformation.

Men's Health has a variety of programs and they change up every few months to give you a variety. I have a subscription so I tear out the workout and hang it on the wall by my weights here at home and I work my way through the workouts. You'll have to modify some of the exercises if you're using dumb bells at home but it…

This kind of put it in perspective for me. I'd never thought about it like that before.

Same here, stuck with logging as circuit training. Also why I never eat back more than half the calories because I'm not 100% confident in the calculated burn. I've got a fuel band but I don't trust it either because if I ride my motorcycle I end up with 20,000 steps...

I've tried to limit my weigh in to no more than twice a week because even though it's just 1 - 1.5 pounds it can be discouraging. If I give it a week I can actually see what I'm doing. I have started weighing on Mondays though to make sure my weekend of debauchery wasn't too devastating.

LOL. Yes, sometimes one pound is not a pound.

"There is no evidence that vaping produces inhalable exposures to contaminants of the aerosol that would warrant health concerns by the standards that are used to ensure safety of workplaces" From the article above ^^ As a smoker (going on 30 years) I've tried just about everything short of hynosis and believe that as…

Usually those throwing a résumé onto a forum is full of it ... perhaps you're the exception to the rule. Then again .. you also told a person that knows little about shoes to go fit themselves .. setting a poor example that hopefully the OP is smart enough not to follow. [/quote] Read and then opine. Those that cannot be…

Don't want bust your bubble but if there was a "quick" and "safe" way to lose weight, we'd all be doing it. The thing I tell myself is that you didn't get this way in a week or a month and you aren't going to get back to where you were in that time either. Pick a workout program that you can stand and hopefully enjoy,…

http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/02/28/strength-training-101/ http://blog.codyapp.com/a-basic-free-weights-workout-for-beginners/ Time could be considered a matter of commitment. I don't have a minimum or maximum time. When I'm finished, I'm finished and by finished it means I can't lift anything else for that day…
