The way i understand it is this- if you have 1210 calories a day to eat and then exercise 300 calories then you havent given your body the needed 1210 calories it needs to function correctly. I do a fair bit of jogging but mostly walking, I hike on saturdays when i can and the last week i have been to the gym 6 days in a row. I have exactly the same issue with both my knees- I went to see the doctor and told them exactly what was happening and she prescribed me with some naproxen with is an anti-inflammatory pill. I went out and bought some cushioned running shoes and a knee support and touch wood the knees are holding out ok. Hope that helps

just plug in your headphones and walk, its a great way to lose calories and how little impact on those damaged joints.
