Yes, I'm definitely notice a difference in how I feel physically. I'm stronger, have more stamina, my back pain is gone, my knee pain is decreasing. Feeling pretty darned good

I agree with you whole-heartedly.

Homemade Honey Dijon Salad Dressing 1/2 cup Honey 1/2 cup Dijon Mustard 1/2 cup Olive oil 1/2 cup Rice wine vinegar 1 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp thyme pepper to taste serving size 2 tbsp 118 calories This recipe is also very easy to alter to make smaller or larger quantities since everything is the same amount. But I usually…

Definitely eliminate any and all types of sugars and substitute sugars. Try to cut out or at least cut down on flours, like breads and pastas. Those refined carbs will cause those cravings too.

You've come to the right place!

Regular sodas have high fructose corn syrup which is not regular sugar. There have recently been the retro sodas that have real sugar and not hfcs but I have't seen them sticking around in the stores. I think they were just for a limited time. hfcs is just as bad as the fake sweeteners and it's in just about EVERYTHING. I…

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this. Here's a link to a weight chart that categorizes by height and frame. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm and here is a link to a page about measuring your frame size. http://www.ehow.com/how_2346297_determine-body-frame-size.html I'm thinking that the…

I try to eat close to my allowed calories per day (right now I'm at 1460) and only eat my exercise calories if I'm really hungry that day. There are a lot of people that eat their daily calories and their exercise calories and are losing weight. So for you, you could have 1400 calories.

Blues Clues?

During the holidays when I knew I had a compulsive overeating problem and was addicting to sugar, and was sneaking into the break room at work for "one more cookie" (yeah right, more like 5 more at a time).

If the 40 includes the 10 you've alreay lost I think it's do-able. I lost 34 lbs in 3.5 months.

FRUIT! Sliced apples, a banana, baby carrots (when you're not sick of them anymore), grapes.

Welcome! I'm 3000 miles away from ya but happy to be supportive

I have commented on other people's post who are asking others and themselves why it is they can't seem to stay away from sugary and other crappy foods. I started looking into it myself when I saw an article last November about eating disorders and one of them is Compulsive Overeating. Yes, it's a disease! I read a couple…

My highest weight ever was 240 in Jan 2009. On Dec 28, 2010 I was 220. The day I joined MFP I was 212. When I weighed in this morning I was 186.2. My goal is 150.

I'm 5'5" and 186

That is so awesome! Keep up the good work.

I used to do that too, eat until I felt sick and was ashamed of myself. I would sneak food too when others weren't eating. And emotional/stressed out eating was the worse. Then one day last November I came across an magazine article about eating disorders. Compulsive Overeating being one of them. Every symptom they listed…

Go to the library and look up books about food addiction. A good one is "Why Can't I Stop Eating". It will explain to you how sugar is like a drug to your brain. Seriously! For a lot of us sugar is as addictive as alcohol is to an alcoholic. I've read books and now also attend Overeaters Anonymous meetings. Talk about a…

Eating healthy fresh foods and exercising is the key.

Salad salad salad - lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, baby corn, sugar snap peas, cucumber, zucchini, carrots, sooo much you can put in a salad, included left over cold chicken, kidney beans, shredded cheeses. And for dressing try Newman's Own Light Honeymustard. mmmmmmmmm

I think it's fantastic that you've made this decision for yourself to better your health and make it a permanent change.

When your friends post their completion of their food and exercise diary and it says View Diary, you can click on that and see what they eat (if they've chosen to share). You can friend me so that you can see mine. Today I had: Oatmeal with strawberries, mango banana and grapes (all fresh) Coffe with cream A salad with…

I love what you wrote. According to the "charts" I am morbidly obese but then I look in the mirror and think "no I'm not". If I got down to where those silly charts say I should be there'd be nothin left of me!

Like a couple of tires slowly losing air and going flat. Not likin it!
-
Please add me. I think the last time I was at a weight I should be was when I was 8 or 9 years old. I've always been a chunk and always yo-yo'd. The biggest help for me this time around has been learning and researching about compulsive overeating and the effects that sugars and other food have on our brains. Did you know…

Welcome! I've been using MFP for almost three months now and love it. The support is awesome!
-
I feel the same. I like the wii fit, like the activities but don't like the pause time to choose the next activity.
-
Welcome!!! I love MFP too. The support is fantastic and it's so easy to keep track of your daily food intake. That's great that you're starting to exercise. The dance class sounds fun. I made the eating healthy/lifestyle change right after Christmas and then started with exercising 2 or 3 weeks ago. I haven't been…

Same here, I already have to get up at 5am for work and there's no way I'm getting up any earlier! When I get home from work I change in to my workout stuff and exercise, then eat dinner. If I don't do it in that order then the exercising isn't getting done. I also try to take a walk on my two 10 minute breaks at work when…
