I really enjoyed reading the replies here. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who has had to make such a big change. I lost weight before but never addressed my issues like I have this time around. Basically my takeaway is: -start learning to make homemade stuff so that I can still enjoy foods that normally have…

Oh wow, you lost so much though!!!!! Very straightforward post, especially the part about "just waking up" and deciding it has to end!!!! Totally relate on that one!!!! Congratulations, darling :flowerforyou:

Although I haven't lost over 100lbs (YOU KICKED BUTT!!!! WOW!!!!!) I agree with this. People say they wish they were as small as me, and I'm just like, isn't it the opposite? O.o When I see pictures of me where I didn't have time to pose or I didn't know they were being taken, I'm surprised at how I don't have the double…

Yes, definitely be patient. Losing too much in smaller periods of time close to your goal will lead to looser appearing skin and such if you don't let your body catch up with itself ^^ if it's working, keep doing it until the end!!!!

That's awesome! Using the mirrors to visualize where we are vs. where we want to be is a good technique. Cause guess what? You CAN change what you see in the mirror through hard work :D Best of luck to you fitting into an amazing wedding dress :flowerforyou:

Same here!!!! I would like to be able to dress up or down on some cool cosplays without worrying about my fat sticking out from dresses and such  The Japanese just have to make their characters so tiny ;p I swear the best cosplayers look so accurate because they match the physical part so well Sending a friend…

A girl who was already on the low side of her BMI range, eating like 600cals a day, and posting things like "how many calories do you think were in my sandwich made with this bread with this much meat", "I'm going to stop eating red meat because someone said its bad for you", and "I feel so bad for eating those cookies"…

I also use body fortress, the chocolate peanut butter kind. Has 30g protein per 150cal scoop, which was the best ratio of all I looked at at my local Walmart. The only thing I've used it for since getting it a few weeks ago is mixing it in my oatmeal. Tastes like a mild no bake cookie dessert for breakfast! I will also…

Looking fantastic!!!! That is some work definitely paying off for sure!!!! To be honest, I would wait until you get to the 75lb mark to reassess yourself. Otherwise, the journey will only seem to drag on longer. Enjoy the day when you reach your original goal weight, celebrate your accomplishment, then work on other stuff…

I know how you feel. When I was a senior in high school, no one thought I would actually lose weight and that MFP was rubbish. I would spend $30 of my $70 I made a week working weekends at a movie theater on healthy food that my parents didn't see fit to buy me. I would hit the pavement and jog my neighborhood at 5am or…

At least back yourself up and add to the conversation so that I know why you feel that way... Now your comment just makes me feel like crap.

When I "took a break" after 40lbs lost then came back to lose the last round, my boobs looked SO much better after getting enough food and proper nutrients in that I was probably skimping out of with my 1000 calorie deficit everyday. They look slightly deflated now that I'm back into weight loss, but it makes me feel…

A lot of people have a very good point: you can take people diagnosed with diabetes and heart problems and joint pain and all this stuff, and some of them will decide that eating better for their health is worth it and some will decide to just live off the meds for the rest of their, probably shorter, life. But dangle a…

That's awesome!!!! I also still use my "fat clothes" to workout, as pajamas, etc. It's a great feeling to compare the old to the new, a big eye opener to how far you've come :D

Same with me. There tends to be one day of the week, generally Friday or Saturday, when I'm sitting down with friends and family and think, seriously??? Why in the world would I pull my calorie counter out now?!? I only eat until I'm full and drink lots of water like a good girl, but the point is to really enjoy my food…

I like that ^ You're also testing your willpower, too. So it's a win-win for the people being loved on and for you practicing self control :)

Hello fellow tall ladies ^^ I am 5'11" and I think a mixture of my build and high BF% makes my stats not exactly normal...lots of ladies my height stop at the weight I'm currently at now and are at a few sizes smaller than me :_____( I'm still trying to lose more fat and have been delving into the weight training world…

I definitely commend you!!!!! Glad you can extinguish a food addiction for sure!!! Now, if only I could get rid of my Lindt truffle addiction...hehehe...

Couldn't have said it better myself! You're supposed to do both strength training 2-3x a week, and cardio 3-5x a week. Strength training while losing weight lessens the loss of muscle alongside fat. Your journey will be slower, but you will be closer to your dream body when you reach your goal weight. Many people, like me,…

Like I say...these arms aren't just for show!!! Hehehe :) Hoping everything turns out for the best soon!

Correct. Like Lynn said, don't eat back your exercise calories on MFP, because they use a different method (BMR + activity level + additional exercise - deficit). Your TDEE basically already includes your exercise calories. It is a simplified version of looking at your calories in, calories out and spreads out how much you…

I recently had taco night with the boyfriend and was happy to find that jalapeños are like 5 calories per 1/4 cup, and the label on my hot sauce says zero calories. So guess what things I slathered my meat with? ;D Many classic yellow mustards are "zero calorie", as well (though I believe Heinz adds some calories to…

Not worth it then :____( Remembering this for future reference hehehe

I also noticed this the first time I walked into my gym to work out at 6am rather than 4pm (I worked out at 5am during high school and wanted to get back into what works for me). I immediately texted my boyfriend, "all of the people in here this early look so thin and determined. I SHALL JOIN THEM SOON!!!!!!!!" There are…

Same happens to me!!!! I try to eat an abundance of red meat to bring my levels up, and my boyfriend bought me a bottle of iron pills to take every other day, and that has been staving it off. When I was larger I used to not be able to give blood because i would fail the test they do when they prick your finger! I was…

I am a fellow perfectionist...I love to follow charts, graphs, and other data to pinpoint my weight loss at all times to try to make the most of it. So, I very much enjoyed this post :) I hope I can keep my fluctuations as contained as that when I reach maintenance one day...seems like only a dream still!

TALL GIRLS UNITE!!!!!!!! I shall send a friend request your way. I can only hope to be for you what so many of my wonderful MFP friends have been for me on this journey :flowerforyou:
-
I would totally override it and go ahead and eat 1500, then. You might be more active than you realize? Though that makes me wonder, did you eat back exercise calories on live strong? Because maybe getting weekly exercise contributed to your goal setting at 1500. So you might not want to plug your exercise in to MFP at…
-
^ truth I remember when I first started with MFP I didn't record things like condiments...but 15 calories per ketchup packet really adds up!!! The biggest thing would be to double check your measurements of what you're eating. Like use actual tools instead of eyeballing everything...you'd be surprised!!! Take it from…

Representing Columbus over here! :D I do wish we had a MFP Ohio meet and greet, but this works just as well :)
