  • I used to drink. A lot. An average night was 18-24 beers, 3-4 times a week! I put on a ton of weight. Over the past 2 months I stepped off the wagon. I drank 8-12 beers these nights, had moonshine one night. I counted the calories of the beer. It totally slowed down my progress. I wont touch it now because of that.
  • I walk 2.5-3 miles a night so I can have some extra calories to play with. I use an app that uses GPS to determine my distance and speed. It also tells me how many calories I burned. The problem with the calculator here is it determines a rough estimate of what you burned based on the average speed you were walking. No two…
  • It wouldn't work for someone like me. I carry very little extra weight from the waist down.
  • I have sleep issues. A few months ago I started walking a couple miles before bed and so far it has been helping me get great sleep.
  • Just run the beard trimmer through it once in a while. Neatens things up.
  • I also want to mention..if you ever feel like you are at a good place in your recovery and doctors are doing unnecessary surgeries, don't be afraid to walk away. My injuries were extensive and required numerous followup surgeries, each with a long recovery span that led to plans for more surgeries. I had to put a stop to…
  • I once completely broke both ankles at the same time! There is a ton of fixation hardware in there. Now that I am losing weight, I can see some of it as the fat used to hide it all.
  • I tip fair, and frequently overtip and frequent the same dozen places. 9 times out of 10 the server knows me, or another server gives them a heads up. I get great service everywhere I go. Another thing I do that saves me some money. I always figure a tip is 20% as a base, and usually add to that. Inform the server after…
  • I have met numerous "celebrities". One friend I will mention because he is kind of related to the subject of this forum. Subway Jared is a friend of mine. He is a super great guy and we have had some memorable moments in the past. He really thinks we look like brothers. I am kind of holding off on seeing him until I lose…
  • Just keep going. You will likely have a really awesome week down the road that makes up for it. I look at it by months. Even though I have stalled a few times, it all managed to work its way out in the long run. So just keep an eye on the long term and not week by week.
  • At first I was losing faster, lately I have been losing slower. But if you look at it overall, not broken down into weeks, it has been fairly accurate. I am in a slow loss mode right now (in my last 25 to goal), so it may be a month or so longer if I stay at this pace, but the loss may pick up and surprise me. It is hard…
  • The only thing I can add to this is that I found after getting rid of sweet drinks (real sugar or fake) my pallet changed drastically. There are foods I once could not stomach that I like now (mostly green vegetables). I also do not crave salty contrasts to go with food paired with it (like fries or chips) .
  • I am realizing that I have to go a little further than planned to achieve what I want. My initial goal was 200 pounds, and I am about 27 pounds away. I am going to go an extra 10 and see where that takes me. Right now things seem to be slowing down, but if I look at things by months, I am still losing about the same. It…
  • Do we really have to watch the same 5 buildings blow up from a dozen different angles? The militants must be zombies because he kills the same dozen over and over again.
  • It depends if I have gone yet that day. If its golden, I am holdin'.
  • I allow them once a week. But I only allow myself to take from my deficit and not exceed what maintenance would be at this weight. This way I am only delaying loss of what I have, not adding fat.
  • Switching to non-sweet drinks changed my pallet. I found I liked my food saltier to enhance the sweetness as well.

  • I found the same problem with shirts at Casual Male XL.
  • RoboCop should have been left with the first. The second was just "ok", third was a turd. Ghostbusters 2 sucked. Exceptions to the rule: Lethal Weapon 2 was as good, if not better than the first. 3 was okay. Evil Dead 2 was good. It was almost like a sort of reboot. I liked aspects of it more than the first. Evil Dead 3:…
  • I discovered I had a very warped sense of calorie estimation. I was flat out ignorant of what most foods contained. Even then you don't realize how quickly they add up.
  • Take a look at my pics. There are 3 face pics, newest to oldest (last week to February). My face is becoming more round as it was kind of rectangular. Right away I developed a wrinkle on my chin. The extra skin has made me sort of jowly, but it is tightening up.
  • I have worn Levi's my whole life. In the 90's, they started changing things. Most notably is the larger diameter of the pant legs. I now only buy "vintage" Levi's, usually Orange tabs as they fit better. A nice aspect of this way of buying is most seller measure the waist rather than list what they were sold as. Usually…
  • I think sometimes we are basically swapping fat for muscle. I am in a phase right now after I started walking a few miles a day, my weight hasn't been dropping like it was. However, my clothes continue to get looser. I see better muscle definition in my legs too.
  • It sounds like your bathroom scale is off 5 pounds. You should probably just use the data given by one scale. Even if it is off 5 pounds, the loss would still be shown even though it is off. you just will have to factor it into things when getting toward your final goal.
  • I tend to eat chicken with my salad. So I have really grown to enjoy using balsamic vinegar.
  • I take my walks between 1-3 am. I don't have to worry about traffic and no sun to burn the hell out of me. It helps me sleep too.
  • Others and myself have just really started to notice. The only real giveaway I had was my original belt became too big and I had to start making notches. I bought another belt where it fit me on the largest notch and I started moving down that one as well. Then I tried on a shirt that shrank and became tight, now it is…
