  • I definitely know the feeling. Over the past year I have gone from a tight size 40 to a comfortable 34. I have gotten more stylish in my clothing, having to do the shopping trip as well. I decided to go all out and shorten my hair and shave off my mustache. A completely different look. I kept hearing how I was going…
  • I have been maintaining for about 4 months now. I average about 2400 calories a day and burn about 700 calories every day. I have been at 200lbs for these past 4 months but have dropped body fat by almost 10%. It is a hard balance to do loosing fat and gaining muscle, but I truly believe it can be done.
  • I light stick cheese or a half cup cottage cheese.
  • I have been smoke free for a little over 3 years now. I picked a day, set my mind to it, told a lot of people to get support and accountability and just devoted myself. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. Keep active, watch what you eat and try and keep out of situations where you will be tempted. Good luck. I…

  • I have been using OxyElite Pro from USPLabs. I had been at a plateau for about 6 weeks and decided to try something different. Very powerful stuff. Lost 3 lbs in the first week.
  • Even though it may have seemed you gained weight you may have lost fat and gained some muscle. I have worked out diligently for the past 8 weeks and have not lost 1 pound. You may think that is a terrible thing but I actually lost 16 lbs of fat and gained 16 lbs of muscle. May body fat has dropped from 26% down to 18%. If…
  • Thanks for the encouragement. I can definitely see the difference and things are moving along well, but sometimes you just want to reach the goal. I have not lost any weight for the past 2 months, but my body fat has dropped by almost 10%. I know I things are going just the way I want, but just not fast enough. It is not…
  • I have been continuing my carb/calorie shifting from the past year and things have really gone well. I have been trying to keep things slow and steady to try and build muscle while still loosing fat. I have lost about 35 lbs and more importantly 20% body fat. I intend on keep this pace as much as possible and maintain my…
  • I found a completely calorie free mayo from Walden Farms. I may not taste exactly like your typical oil based mayo but it wasn't to bad. http://www.waldenfarms.com/what_new.html
  • Keep your cardio up the way you are doing it right now. If you can increase it by a couple of days. At least 5 days worth of cardio at 30 minutes a shot is a good start. For weight training there are 3 options. Get a gym membership, which can be costly, get a set of weights which are cumbersome and can be costly or try…
  • I would modify the potato for a sweet potato and throw some rice in there every once in a while for good nature. Instead of so much whey protein try having some chicken, fish or very lean red meat instead. Mix it up a little to keep your body guessing about what is going on.
  • I read this thread last week and thought about some new shoes, but then decided against it. I walked into a ****'s Sporting Goods this weekend to find a new pair of shorts and later found my self in the shoe department. I tried on a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider shoes, but there just was not enough cushion in the front. I…
  • I have always had problems with my knees and legs in general and am unable to run long distances. By long 1 mile and I am dying. The elliptical has the same type of effect. What I have done is use the bike quite a bit and push myself much harder than I would running maintaing about 85 rpm. Lately I have been using the…
  • I only spike at that level my average around 140 which is 70% of my max, but I burn a lot of calories according to my HRM. I burn around 1300 calories every morning. Is this what others are seeing as well?
  • I ride my bike every morning before work and burn almost 1300 calories in a 45-50 session based on my HRM. I get my heart rate up to over 90% of my max. Could this mean my HRM is incorrect, or is my workout that good?
  • I do use protein supplements every day. I was sort of looking for a high protein meat substitute. Guess I need to be a little more specific.
  • I know chicken breasts are about the best food to fit into this calorie, but I am looking to add a little variety. I have thought about tuna, salmon and other fish related food but they are all high in sodium. Can anyone else provide me with some ideas to fill this category?
  • For me it has been around the office. People have seen the energy I have put into loosing weight and have been encouraged to do it as well. We are all becoming a bunch of rabbits around here. Once your friend sees the change and confidence you show they will accept it and join you or wait for you to fail. When you don't…
  • I see that things are slowing down here now. It was great to get a laugh like this at the end of a long day. Thanks
  • I think my kids think I have this power already. They are constantly wanting things and I tell them, "Just let me go to the toilet and make a withdrawl to pay for it."
  • 2 filets of tilapia, 1 Wasa Multigrain thin bread and some mix veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and celery. YUM YUM!!!!!
  • I do something very similar except instead of some whole wheat crackers I found Wasa Multigrain thin bread. It is like a cracker and a half can of tuna fits on it nicely. At only 45 calories, 10 carbs, 2 grams protein and no fat it is really good. You should try them out.
  • A couple of web articles to get things started here. http://www.naturalphysiques.com/faq/525.html http://www.squidoo.com/tabatatraining
  • Are you interested in really loosing some fat? Try looking into HIIT or Tabata training. I understand it will seriously kick your butt, but it is the most efficient way to burn fat without loosing muscle. Anyone else trying this?
  • My wife is from Turkey and has introduced my to a variety of new and exciting food which are nutritious. Foods such as liver, gizzard, salad with light olive oil, lemon and crushed red pepper, lamb kabob, italian beans with lamb and probably one of my favorite is an okra soup. I don't make it but here are the ingredients.…

  • One thing else you might consider is changing things up. If you are continually doing the same thing your body will get accustomed and will adjust accordingly. If you normally bike trying running or swimming instead. Try using the rowing machine or if you are using an upright bike try using a recumbent bike. Whenever I…
  • I love the South Beach Bars. They are pretty much all the same nutrients their different types. I love these things and have at least one every day. Cinnamon Raisin Calories 140 Carbs 15 Fat 5 Protein 10
  • I definitely noticed when my caloric intake has dropped below 1500 my weight loss stops as well. Thanks for reassuring me on what I had been seeing.
  • I had the same problem for about 2 weeks and I upped my calorie content by about 250 calories a day and started loosing weight again. Dropped 6lb in 10 days. Ended up I was cutting back to much.
