Any unused protein will be turned into energy to be used similar to carbs and will then follow this path. I also have a lot of extra protein. I usually hit some extra after a hard weight training session to help build muscle, but it should be fine as long as you are not getting extremely high like 300-400 grams a day.

And think about all of the money you will be saving in gas!!!

I have been using GNC Whey Isolate 28. It has been working great for giving me a real protein punch both in the morning and after a good workout. I have seen some solid gains in my lean muscle which of course is good for burning fat. If you are just looking for a good supplement it is great and mixes well in water. I…

I definitely overloaded this weekend. Especially yesterday, but luckily the scales showed I have not gained a thing. I am guessing the reason why is because even though I was eating a lot I mowed the lawn, cleaned the storage shed, did a lot of walking in the grocery store and playing with the kids. And of course my Sunday…

I am the true image of a nerd. Whenever I go on vacation my laptop goes with me. This is where I sit on the beach under the umbrella to keep from getting burnt. I sit and write computer programs and answer emails using my Sprint wireless card in my black socks and sandles. I hope that did not paint to ugly a picture, but…

I started buying different protein powders at your local discount stores (i.e. Walmart, Target) and found that the more expensive ones actually mix better and taste better. Try it out and see how it works for you. I use it at least once per day. When I weight lift I take a second heavy dose. I see it helping while keeping…

Just had to check in today. This new Calorie Shifting and tough workouts is paying off well. I am just so excited and if things continue this well I will shatter my goal. Starting Weight: 233 lbs Last Week: 221 lbs Current Weight: 217 lbs Goal Time: 8/31 Goal Weight: 195 lbs

You might consider take you normal calorie count with no weight loss and move it down by 250 cals. If this does not help drop by another 250. Dropping down to 1200 in one shot may have put your body into starvation mode. It is recommended to keep your body above 1200 at all times. Good luck.

Going on vacation can be a real killer on a diet. Those all-inclusive resorts make it hard to stick to it. I guess I can be thankful it was only 2 pounds. Starting Weight: 233 lbs Last Week: 219 lbs Current Weight: 221 lbs Goal Time: 8/31 Goal Weight: 195 lbs

I created a spreadsheet which does this based on what my average calorie burn is suppose to be. It really works it out nicely for me. I can plan out what I am going to eat for every meal 3-4 days in advance. If ayone would like a copy just let me know. It is in Excel 2003 format.

This has been a great motivator. Ready for a healthier summer. Starting Weight: 233 lbs Last Week: 222 lbs Current Weight: 219 lbs Goal Time: 8/31 Goal Weight: 195 lbs

Reverse Crunches are great but take it easy to start out and definitely stretch before.

Definitely in on this one this time. When does it end? Starting Weight: 233 lbs Current Weight: 222 lbs Goal Time: 8/31 Goal Weight: 195 lbs

Thanks for all of the input from everyone. I am giving it a shot to see if it helps in continuing my weight/fat loss. I will give a report at the end of the week and let everyone know how it comes out.

I just took, based on my BMR, and determined how many pounds per week I wanted to loose. Example would be my BMR is around 2300. I want to loose 1 lb per week which would be approximately 3500 calories. Divide that by seven or 500 calories per day and subtract from my BMR. This gives me around 1800 calories per on average…

This past week I got very frustrated with not loosing any weight/fat. I kept my calorie count down and continued my cardio and weight training regularly, but was still getting nowhere. I started doing a lot of research on the internet and articles about the Zig Zag or Calorie shifting diet. Basically you continually change…

I know the feeling. I was right on target for today and my daughter convinced me to go to Taco Bell. Boy did I blow it there. I guess there is always tomorrow and something to think about next time to help make a better decision. You have done well so far I see. One small slip will not loose the battle.

3 years ago I lost 30 pounds knowing would gain weight when I quit. I have been 18 months smoke free, but I put back on the 30 pounds. Having a heck of a time trying to get it back off. It is not as easy this time. I have started going to the gym every day, and today I am starting (High Intensity Interval Training) HIIT to…

This is so great to see. I just found this site today and have been looking for something like this for a long time. I lost a lot of weight with South Beach about 3 years ago and felt great. I quit smoking a year ago and put it all back on. Summer is coming and I want to look that good again. I got a membership to a Gym…
