Really looks great! Can you check the protein count? Seems like it should be higher per serving, with the seafood. Thanks for sharing.

Lol this reminds me of the "5 for 5" challenge I would have when my kids were smaller. 5 fruits and veggies for 5 consecutive days won the prize. Our rules were that fruit juice only counted for one serving, no matter how much you drink, and fries don't count at all. Let me tell you, bananas were the secret weapon to…

Yes, I have to say there is a night/day difference between the better than billion and a carton/can of broth, or even the broth you may make on the stove or in the crockpot from veg leftovers ( like ends of onion, celery, carrot, etc.) I used to always make my own, but I picked this up for a shortcut and really like it. I…

One other quick note: I use Better than Bullion vegetable broth, and I think it really adds a depth of flavor to my vegetarian soups.

Just made a great vegetarian French onion soup in the crockpot yesterday! Whoa yum! Check out the Crocktober-break out your crockpot thread that is still active. I posted several veggie items and I saw several others as well. I make: Tomato soup with Israeli couscous or orzo Vegetable-barley soup (with sweet potato)…

Correction---17 g of protein!

Wow I tried one today that turned out great, Vegetarian French Onion Soup. The crockpot caramelized the onions perfectly, and my husband, daughter and I just gobbled the soup down for lunch. At 500 calls per serving when I entered into MFP, and 7 g of protein. I'm stuffed!…

These lists look good, I would suggest you add pasta. I like to keep different kinds of pasta on hand for quick veggie meals.

Look on Food.com and search for Mocha Coffee mix. It's easy, makes about 16-20 servings ( 2 T of mix that you add to hot water), and it is Amazing with Cinnamon whiskey added if it's not a workday! Lol

You know, someone posted on this site that their favorite way to eat quinoa was to sauté onion and peppers in a little olive oil, add some chorizo, and then the quinoa with water/broth, cook it all up.....I tried this and it was delicious!! I don't eat chorizo but I used Soyrizo, really good.

Made chili in the crockpot for the fam, hillbilly hoursewife recipe. Served over spaghetti with cheese, made enough to freeze a portion for another meal for 4. Combine 2 lbs browned ground beef, 1 med onion chopped, 1 bell pepper chopped, 2 celery sticks chopped, 2 cans diced tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, 2 cans pinto…

I made these, they were a little weird for me, but i thought i would comment that the recipe/batter did totally work. They were sweet enough I didn't need honey or syrup.

Tracie great blog. I look forward to trying some of your recipes!

I tried this and the kids loved it. My son took leftovers to the first day of school!

Pg 7 of this thread--misticache, I made your chicken noodle soup for the kids' lunch today. And they loved it! Thanks for a very simple good recipe!

I don't see any listings in your food diary, and it shows only 16 g of protein required. That's not correct, so you should check your settings. Maybe you could try to focus on hitting a minimum of 15-20g of protein per meal, which should be pretty easy with bean/grain combos or fish, etc. then eat high protein snacks like…

I am, I didn't realize there was a group! What's the name? I'd like to join.

I made the French Dip sandwiches. Easy-peasy, and the family loved them! Thanks!

I agree with everyone here. The trick is to eat in a nutritionally sound way. Unless you are a junk-food vegetarian,it's usually pretty easy to get your protein. Often I will only have one serving of dairy a day (usually milk in a shake, and I don't use protein powders) and it helps put me right where I need to be. I use…

Green monster smoothie. Milk, spinach, chia, frozen berries and banana. Good stuff!
-
I've been drinking them a few weeks now, and I love them. 1 cup milk, sprinkle of chia seeds, 2 handfuls of spinach, a frozen banana. Sometimes it's called a green monster. You don't taste the spinach!

For about 6 months I've been DVR'ing Yoga for Life on the channel Veria. It's a perfect partner for running, it involves strength training, and it will work your core. Love that there's an online class too for when I travel, just use my computer. There's probably a dozen episodes to the class, so I don't get bored.

A couple of good long cook items are pork roast/shoulder to shred for bbq and all manner of beans. (If you have 12 hours to cook them you can skip the pre-soak--have you seen the recipe on MFP called PD's vegetarian black bean soup--I made it and it was just the best). I also will freeze the scraps of fresh veggies in a…

PS We eat it over rice and with a fruit salad.

Google Emeril's Shrimp Curry on Food Network. It's a great base recipe, sometimes I make it without the shrimp, sometimes my husband has chicken with it. Also, I don't homemake the red curry past, I just use the jar.

For a long time I couldn't conceive of drinking mainly water all the time. Now I've made the switch and love it. And if the ice melts it doesn't water anything down. lol I have heard it's not uncommon for people who chew ice to be anemic. I was when I was young, but not anymore.

Tonight I will thaw, pat dry, and broil with red pepper jelly/ginger sauce. Serve over spinach rice; yum!

I'd love any recipes you'd want to share...I have a crockpot barley/black bean/corn burrito recipe I found that is just the bomb.
