  • I decided the same thing about my goal. Originally I set my goal at 132,and upped it to 137. I think that's where I want to be,as when I dropped lower, some people were telling me I looked gaunt(even though it close to my max weight). I weigh in tonight, but my scales shows I'm 9 pounds away from goal. Finally, after losing…
  • Thanks for this link.We have a program in Iowa called IowaCare that covers some medical cost, but not mental health. Just blows my mind ,that this aspect of health is brushed under the rug. Maybe they figure that too many people that can't afford medical insurance would be depressed, and so they would rather dodge it and…
  • Trying to get back in therapy.I had been going but funding ran out,so waiting because I don't have health insurance. I ,sometimes deal with anxiety about issues I can't control. That's why I like losing weight, because it is something in my life,I CAN actually control.lol... Happy Friday to all of you. p.s. Be kind to…
  • You kicked butt, girlfriend. Good for you,not eating your emotions and dealing with them head on. Thinks that's hard for anyone to do. Some people are just better at it. I end up apologizing too much, when it wasn't anything to apologize about, but getting better. I have a hard time understanding why someone would be in…
  • That's great,Evelyn. Way to be accountable.I kept the weight off for many years,by watching carbs and sugar, but having one cheat day a week, and maintained. I gained when I became depressed and lethargic and ate nonstop. Good for you!
  • Well, glad I'm not alone. Went to a cookout last night, and my friend(that is in my weight loss group) was telling me to eat more, since it was a barbeque. I ate food, that probably wasn't the best choice for a diet, but smaller amounts. I am also getting closer to my goal(12 pounds to go) but it seems harder to lose now.
  • LOL,Facebook, also. Sometimes, only allow myself a certain amount of time on the computer,as I could sit here all day and that certainly won't help me burn calories! By the way,I think that is such an accomplishment, losing weight, while on vacation.
  • Please check out SocDoc website. He is a chiropractor that has a different approach to feet problems. I also suffered from plantar fasciatis and went out and bought new shoes and orthotics ,specifically made to help plantar fasciatis and was also doing stretching exercises. It wasn't getting better but worse, and I stumbled…
  • I kinda went on a sugar spree last night but the important thing is to bounce right back the next day. Today,I will make better choices, and step up my exercises so my splurge doesn't affect my program. Be determined and don't beat yourself up. Get rid of thinking that keeps you stuck and know you are worth getting healthy.…
  • Just love my sweet friends. We have such an awesome group. You are so encouraging to others.
  • Great advice and very insightful!
  • It is so important to take time(to literally smell the roses). I am so glad you are taking the time for yourself to unwind from the stress of your job. Stress is a big trigger for emotional eating. Hope you are having a good week! Not posting my food diary, because I'm on a liquid diet, until tomorow, due to a molar i had…
  • Dear Maggie,You know you aren't alone in what you feel. Most of us in our group are emotional eaters,as well. There are some good books out. Just google Emotional Eating. I suggest one that has a journal. When we eat or overeat,it feeds a part of our brain, that is responsible for pleasure. When emotional eaters binge, they…
  • I'm 5'2,62 year old female. My highest weight was after the birth of my youngest son(210 lbs.) My least amount of weight was 117 lbs. when I was 40 years old. I must have a large bone structure for a short person, because when I was 117 lbs. people asked me if I was sick. Saw old movies of myself, and too small, even for me.…
  • I think you sound very healthy. I think anyone that has lost weight and on a diet(per se) becomes a little obsessed. If you google amount of food and visual aides, you will be able to judge food amount without a scale. For instance,a proper portion of meat, chicken or fish, should be the size of a deck of cards, etc. I think…
  • Thank you so much. These are great ideas. I was always taught, that loving yourself was a selfish act, until I realized that if I don't ,then how can I possibly have enough left over to love others. A counselor once told me to picture myself,as a young child and also, myself as a parent. How would you treat that little girl?…
  • At least you caught it before it became A huge weight gain. I'm sure 10 pounds feels as if it is a lot,but the nice thing is,it is NEVER a permanent condition. I lost 50 and kept it off for years, and I let the needle on the scale keep going up,and finally stopped weighing. It seemed as if I woke up one morning, and weighed…
  • I have been taking care of a friend and not able to post so just now saw your post. I can totally understand how you feel and what you are going through. I went through a similar job situation with toxic people and I let it almost destroy me. Food can be like a drug and I ate and ate. I wish I could just reach into the…
  • Thank you. Hope you had a good day. I had one of those types of mother's but she is gone. Not worth letting others steal your joy. I went out to eat in a fancy restaurant and was semi good(not eating bread and half of a baked potato, but am sure I consumed more calories than I should of,but it was really yummy. Back to it…
  • Super goals! what an inspiration. Keep up the good work.
  • You are awesome, sweet lady. What a great example you are for your mom. Have fun at the beach. The ocean is a wonderful place to count your blessings. God bless.
  • It will happen(smaller size). I also was getting frustrated, cause I was losing weight and inches, but not smaller clothes. It just seemed to happen overnight. I saw my size 12 capri's and really didn't think they would fit but they did! A little snug but they did fit. You are doing awesome.
  • Brown rice, whole wheat pasta with (cheap) generic frozen vegies with any type of beans. You can buy an entire bag, very cheap. If you buy canned, make sure you rinse them,as they have quite a bit of sodium. Check your local grocery store for sales on chicken or beef. If there is a good sale, try to buy a good amount, and then…
  • I am very sorry about your cat. Our animals are part of our family and it's hard when we have to say goodbye. I am happy you are feeling better and very proud of you,as you are doing the derby and shred. Wow...I need to get motivated. Have a great day!
  • My prayers and sympathy are with you and I am very sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost my dad several years ago,and it was very difficult. He also died from cancer. Take comfort in knowing that you were there for him,in his last days. My dad was such a strong, independent person, but on his death bed,I also got to care…
  • I will add you as my friend. We can all use support and encouragement along our health journey. I'm sure most of us have messed up,it's just about getting back up. The worse thing you can do is beat yourself up and feel bad. What has helped me after a binge,is EXERCISE. If I push myself hard,I can usually get back to…
  • That's awesome! Wish my waist was going down as fast as my hips! But I'm happy. Started out wearing a size 16 and now can wear a 12..yipeee...
  • I didn't think it was anyone from our lovely group. We are all about spreading the love! Have a good weekend, ladies. (off to exercise)
  • I think it would be hard to get in exercise when someone else is there. I live alone,so don't have that issue. Wish I was more of a morning person. I usually exercise late afternoon, but happy anytime I do it,just cause I'm exercising!
  • It has been rainy and cold here and when it's gray out,I get depressed and that's when I eat. So strange how weather effects me. You spurred me on to go exercise. I was a total slacker yesterday. Just can't seem to get energized. Will will push through this, ladies!
