I’m sure you’ve looked into all the side effects of Alli. Good luck to you I say. I’m not quite sure what sort of response you are going to get to using Alli on these boards. Most people are supportive, but Alli seems to have a particular stigma attached to it. I would suggest, before you start, that you spend a week…

Hi! Welcome to the site! I am from sunny London…Ok, so actually it is chucking it down at the moment, but welcome none the less! Feel free to add me as a friend etc etc!

Yeah, I agree. It's all about they Harry Potter books narrated by Stephen Fry. That man is pure genius. I think he also narrated his own autobiography, so that is probably worth downloading as well!

You see all this hand sized portion stuff doesn't work for me, because I have such big hands! Good for some things, but not so good for portion control!!

Hey! It's a good little community here, lots of helpful tips etc on the forums. Feel free to add me as a friend if in need of motivation, support etc etc etc

Just want to clear up the fact that tea and coffee DO count towards your daily water intake. The diuretic effect of coffee and tea is very limited and is totally outshone by the fluid you are consuming. While I would not suggest you get all your water from tea and coffee, a cup of two still count towards your daily total!

There is a lot of scepticism out there about Kinect. I'd be careful. A leaked copy of the manual which can be found here: http://www.vg247.com/2010/10/05/entire-kinect-manual-photographed-play-distances-power-details-more/ details all the possible issues, including the fact that you will need 10 feet of space, to tie your…

I found the Allen Carr book really useful for giving up smoking. Worth a try! It helps you understand why you smoke and why you won't want to any more after reading the book!

Over the course of the next few weeks, get in early, place a quarter in her phone handset. Do this every other day. She will automatically adjust to the extra weight without realising. Then one morning, come in early, remove all the quarters and watch her smack herself in the head with the phone because it is suddenly…

Count me in! I keep falling off the wagon and I think this would really help :-)

Feel free to add me! We all have days where we feel like crap and think that the mirror secretly hates us. But it is doable. You just have to keep plugging away. And trust me, that kid of yours will soon be giving you all the exercise you need as you run around after him!!

Why not order takeaway for the rest of the family and whip yourself up something quick when you get home. If you don't want to feel like you are missing out, then why not order yourself some boiled rice and then whip up a quick chilli at home to put on it?

Perhaps just a normal salad. I had a crab salad for lunch, just some crab, lettuce, sweetcorn, tomatoes and a little light mayo and it barely broke the 300 calories mark. Things like Wendys get loads of calories from a MASSIVE amount of dressing on the salad!

Welcome to the site! You weigh about the same as me, I’m looking to get down to about 175. Feel free to add me as a friend, I’m always on here, so when that cake looks appealing, I can always offer support :-) Good luck with the weight loss! Dan

Tried the calculation, just to see. I found it to be about 5% off (I know my body fat %). You can get some relitively cheap scales from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/dp/B0013ISJD8?tag=invihand-21) which might help!

Currently re-reading wuthering heights. Love that book, you start to see Heathcliff's redeeming features after the first time. At first he appears to be a right *kitten*, but you understand him more each time you read the book!

Don't worry about it! He's probably just as nervous as you are about the whole getting in the buff thing  He's already going out with you, so he must find you attractive already, so it really won't bother him and it shouldn't bother you either. Be comfortable, enjoy the weekend and worst comes to worst, have a glass…

Don't feel uncomfortable at the gym, feel proud that you are doing something about it. You'll get more and more used to going and you will start to recognise people in the gym. There will always be the scary body builders and those who are super fit and go twice a day, 7 times a week, but don't let them intimidate you into…

Hi! Welcome to the site. I too am about 210lb, though I only want to lose about 35lb. If I lost 60 you'd be able to see right through me! At 6'3 I'd look like a lamp post!! The one thing I'd watch out for is the slip ups. I allow myself one treat a week, but sometimes, when work is bad or I forget, I go over my calorie…

I too am going to quit smoking - actually I was thinking about starting a topic on it this morning on the way to work, but you beat me to it! Great minds and all that. I'm quite a heavy smoker (up to 20 a day) so it could be quite hard, but I am really determined to actually do it this time. Need to set a quit date - maybe…

I'm going to have a crack at giving up smoking...so carbs may become my friend...It's my biggest weakness by far and tomorrow is actually my quit date. Slightly worried about putting on weight as opposed to losing it, but will have to see how it goes!
-
I'm not part of a particular group either, but feel free to add me as a friend. I'm am determined to do it this time and other people's success always spurs me on! I always want to be the best at what I do, so I'm sure we could help each other out!! :-)

I know the feeling, every time I manage to drop below 210, it's like my body says...'mmm...pizza' and I end up binging and ending back up above the 210 mark!!
-
Just added you! Support def helps in these situations, especially on fridays!

I'm not new, but this is a new attempt at weight loss - want to lose 35 pounds- this site is really handy for calorie counting and the forums seem really active. I never really participated in them before, so I plan to this time to see if it helps to keep me motivated! Good luck with your weight loss!!

Your best bet is to go for clear spirits such as vodka, white tequila, white rum etc. Try to avoid anything that is darker in colour. If you must drink beer, then make it something like bud light (110 calories) - that will leave you bloated beyond all belief, but it will be short lived. Just had a suggestion from someone…

I joined yonks ago, but always find excuses not to do it or fall off the wagon after about a week. This time I am determined. Also want to quit smoking sometime soon, so hoping that doesn't put a spanner in the works!

I found the best piece of advice that I have ever been given was to work out my portions. A portion of, for example, cereal in the morning, isn't as much as you might have thought. It can be a bit shocking at first, when you see your bowl half empty, but you'll come to realise that you didn't really need as much food as…

Hello there!! I'm new to this place too, but it seems quite handy. I only came across it totally by accident actually. But not complaining! Good luck with the weight loss and I'm sure I will speak to you again along the way!
