All4norma, I highly recommend that you read the third post down (the post by mrsbigmack) in this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/993146-people-eating-low-calorie-to-maintain-weight-read Glycogen/water is a good thing! And just because you gain a few pounds when you start eating your maintenance calories…

Bump. Awesome thread. :) I love this kind of encouragement and wisdom.

Thanks for joining me in my excitement, everyone! :) And thanks for all the kind remarks. :) And thanks to everyone in the past who has posted success stories. I find them very motivational and exciting. :) (Again, I apologize for not accepting friend requests from people I don't know in real life. Please don't take it…

I'm really hoping to do something like this, soon! I'm at 202~203 right now, and I think that once I get into the 100's, I'll stop weighing for a while (a couple of weeks? maybe a month?) and focus more on hitting my calorie deficit and watching my macros. (Partly because I would be too sad if I fluctuate back above 200…

OP (and others in similar situations), I highly recommend that you read the third post down (the post by mrsbigmack) in this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/993146-people-eating-low-calorie-to-maintain-weight-read Glycogen/water is a good thing! Awesome. :) (If you resize the pictures so that they are no more than around 500 pixels wide, then the whole picture should show.)

...my first attempt at fixing someone's pics... hopefully this works! :) (Edit: nope, didn't work. Trying again...) Congrats! I'm about 5 lbs away from onederland, myself, and started at 265. So I can almost taste your excitement, too! :)
-
Thanks! :) I've been overweight since high school, and so I've always needed wide or double-wide shoes. So this is almost as exciting as switching from plus sizes to misses, for me, because in the past it's been SO hard to find shoes that fit well. I'm pretty excited that it'll be much easier, now. :)

Aaw, sweet. :)

Awesome! Likewise, I tried zumba last night, for the first time. I've been going to the gym and eating fewer calories for about 5 months, and was really surprised at how simple zumba seemed. I thought it was going to be much more intense - labored breath, and lots of sweat and such - but I'm just in so much better shape…

Awesome! :)

Awesome!! :)

I love purging my closet, too! :) Although I agree that making some things smaller is a great idea, as well.
-
The mini goals is a great idea. This won't work for everyone, but since my starting weight was on a number ending in a 5 (265 lbs), I'm both excited when I reach a number divisible by 10 (like 260 lbs) and when I have lost an increment of 10 lbs (like 255). So my mini goals are naturally 5 lbs. I also set an end-of month…

And it's a new/smaller-jeans-week (I went shopping last weekend). Always so fun! So that's two NSV's after a seeming drought of NSVs. Yay for progress.

I remember that after I had lasik eye surgery, whenever I left home, I felt like I had forgotten something. I would pause for a moment and then realize it was just my glasses. lol I feel like loosing weight is sometimes similar - I feel like I'm forgetting something or that I'm still wearing my pajamas (because my clothes…

I've stalled for three separate weeks ... and after seeing the patterns for myself, I think it may have more to do with "regularity" than anything else. I would suggest you try to eat lots of fiber and increase your water for a while.
-
Yeah, I've been looking at my fiber intake for a little while, now, but I think I should up it, more. The funny thing is that I'm not convinced that is a gallbladder attack, because I didn't have the symptoms directly after eating, exactly. It was a couple of hours later, the first two times. Then the third time was mid…

Excellent problem. :) I was wondering, myself, if there were some way to adjust/sew the bras I have as they get too big... But full inspiration hasn't struck, yet...
-
Thanks for sharing your story. That's great to hear that you've been able to manage your gallbladder troubles. (Sorry to hear that they started, in the first place, though.)

I have issues in this department - related to water consumption/weight. I used to log every day (for about 4 months --all the ups and downs). But I found that I was getting too stressed out about how much water I drank the night before ("A pint's a pound, the world around" --a pint of water weights one pound at sea level).…

I'll definitely second the "intimidating" thing! lol I agree that it's hard to know where to start. My primary feeling was as if I had previously belonged in a cage, and now I've been set loose! A pretty crazy feeling. But at the same time, I'm afraid of being "caught" and reprimanded and told to go back to my cage of plus…

I love wearing rings. (They're so pretty!) I just tried on all of my old rings (high school and beyond), and they either fit and are broken or they're too big, now! So I just *had* to go to Amazon and order a new one. ;) I've decided that instead of goal clothing (since I have no idea what my final shape will be), I might…

hehe, thanks. :)
-
Ah, yes! I was forgetting about the concern of muscle loss. Good point. And interesting thought about the no-more-than-1%... I'll have to think on that.
-
I'm not at all qualified to answer your question. But... ...from personal experience, when I first started losing, I was losing about 3.5 lb / week. At the very beginning, I was eating a couple hundred under what MFP recommended for a 2 lbs/week loss. A I was going to the gym a lot. I noticed that by the end of every day,…
-
lol, that's awesome. :) Yeah, maybe I should think about saving them all, for something!
-
When people say they've lost X inches... what do they mean? From where, exactly? Is there a standard of what inches lost that they're adding? (Is it bust/waist/hips all added together? or is that only their waist?)
-
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. :) Yeah, it is a lot of material - I've done this 4 or 5 times, and each time when I cut it off, I panic a little, and think the shirt won't fit, now. But it does! :) Yay, me!

I thought it was pretty off, for me. After a month, I averaged the total calories I ate in a day, and compared it to what MFP told me to eat for losing 2lbs / week. By the average actual calories I was eating, it should have been a 2.5 loss / week, when comparing to MFP's guess of my daily burn. But it was more. My scale…
