  • sounds good... thanks for sharing :)
  • I use fat free mayo, splenda, and balsamic vinegar. I imagine a person could get some ranch mix and mix with sour cream and/or mayo and make a low fat/fat free ranch that was healthier than the pre-bottled stuff.
  • I have not lost 100 pounds, but I am at 52 pounds lost since Jan 1. I am not doing a strict diet but have based my choices from the glycemic index. Whole grains, no sugar, fresh fruits/veggies, portion control, 3 meals, 3 snacks a day, and exercise. I will be at over 100 pounds lost sometime this year I hope and I won't do…
  • Let them help with preparation... usually mine are more likely to try something new if they helped create it.
  • That's awesome!!! The longest journey begins with the first step.... you must be an inspiration to them! Keep up the good work!
  • what about upper body strength training? seems like maybe you could do that from a seated position? Might not be much.. but a little something and be extra cautious to stay within your calories too and you should be fine
  • This is the biggest drawback to the homeopathic drops. You learn to eat very little and then when you aren't taking them you are naturally more hungry and haven't learned portion or calorie control that is going to get you there long term. So definitely need to research what to eat/not eat once you get to maintenance.…
  • I have never been a breakfast person. So I do just force myself to eat anyway. Since I rarely want to eat breakfast, I don't really care what I have so I vary what I have everyday to make my nutrition and calories come out right based on whatever we are having for lunch and dinner. I do try to eat within 40 min of getting…
  • 1. Pre Plan. However, I did that before I chose to start eating healthy as I have done a family menu and grocery shopping from that for a few years to keep us within our budget for groceries anyway. 2. Schwans sugar free/fat free vanilla ice cream. 1/2 cup is only 70 calories 3. Zumba 4. 1200 ... losing about 2 lb per week…
  • Definitely going to have to try the Iron Out .... will it get set in dirt? For instance we had a game Wednesday night... got home at 9:00pm and had to have his uniform washed and ready to go by 7 am when we had to leave for the day yesterday because he had a game right after school yesterday. There just wasn't time for…
  • Definitely a ball field mom here... and I work full time too... Three boys... 15 yr old does high school football, baseball and wrestling 14 yr old does junior high football and golf and rec league baseball 11 yr old does rec league football and baseball The 11 yr old is actually my stepson and he plays baseball when he's…
  • I have the opposite problem. My heart rate monitor shows a lot more than the gym equipment shows. I talked to one of the gym staff and they said to go with the monitor as it's most accurate.
  • I am here for moral support. I was SO addicted to my diet soda... I think both the caffeine, the chemicals, and the carbonation. I gave it up June 24, 2010 and I am doing GREAT! I won't lie... if you are as addicted as I was then it is NOT easy... I had headaches and felt shaky and worn out for the first couple of weeks.…
  • that's awesome!!! Congrats on the courage that must have taken!!! Once years ago when I decided to finally lose the weight (turned out that was just one of many trial runs for this time) I actually just took my deep fryer and gave it away... no looking back... could no longer have a plate of fries with salt and cheese and…
  • I mix fat free mayo, a little splenda and balsamic vinegar
  • yes, stick to one scale to be the "official" weight... and the same time of day as well.... on top of that, always just be sure you are standing in the same position on the scale that way it's always an accurate reflection of what you have accomplished. As for the up and down weight...that happens to everyone... no matter…
  • This is what I do also so that I make sure I make the wisest choices when I get ready for a snack
  • My husband and I both have the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports HRM. They have the chest strap. It's better as you don't have to do anything special for it to record your heart rate continuously. They are great and fit comfortable for women that are big chested. No problems there. In fact, I almost forgot to take it off one…

  • I am very proud of you! You are doing awesome and I love how dedicated you are to our goals!!
  • no green for breakfast, but I have a salad for lunch, a lime sugar free dessert for one snack, a golden delicious apple for the other snack, and we will have brocolli with dinner tonight.... I didn't even plan it that way but found it interesting after you posted.... a very green day for me :)
  • depends on how badly you need a job or can you survive without it, how much you would like or dislike the job, and as for gas .. the age, mileage, and dependability of your car...
  • I don't have a sports bra but I do wear the most supportive bra I have... and I choose shorts and t-shirt (I don't own a tank due to being so embarrassed of my arm "wings" for so many years)... it's a true workout and you don't want to be dressed too warm.
  • stick with wheat or the whole grain oat bread... if you are really worried about the bread, ask them to remove some of it from the inside when they cut it open before they put the meat and veggies on it.
  • I go to the gym 3 days a week. Two of them are at night and I do eat dinner when I get home and a light snack prior to the workouts. On Saturdays I go to the gym early and try to have a piece of fruit or half a bagel.. something to give me some fuel and then finish my breakfast after. I have been steadily losing an average…
  • whole wheat thin spaghetti Classico fire roasted spaghetti sauce spinach salad whole grain (multigrain) rolls with spray butter and garlic
  • I finally got a HRM and I have a lot of weight to lose so I know that I burn more calories per class than an average size person. However, depending on what songs and the instructor, my calories burned for a 45-50 min class have been between 1100 and 1400. One of our instructors is VERY intense and makes sure we keep…

  • My husband just got this watch and it seems to work pretty good. I have trouble learning new electronics with lots of buttons but it seemed easy enough for me yet accurate as well. We have just ordered a second one for me.
  • I was worried about that at first when I started zumba (I am well over 100 pounds overweight)... but honestly I didn't notice anyone but the instructor because typical zumba gives no verbal cues.. only visual.. so you have to watch and learn from her so I figure if I am watching her then everyone else is also watching her…
  • welcome to MFP!
