I've never been addicted to pop. In my family we grew up with pop and chips only on Friday family nights. For me I just like the fizz so I've been drinking club soda whenever I feel like I want something bubbly. It has worked so far. There was a time when I was drinking one or two cans of club soda a day (Canada Dry is my…

I think for the most part people mean well. I just don't tell anyone I'm losing weight or becoming healthier. To me it's a personal journey so I keep it to myself. My family knows and the people who ask if I've lost weight know (I'll tell them only if they ask). If you don't mind telling people then I think you should…

I think you should really go see a doctor especially if all the things you've tried haven't helped. One thing that I think has helped me is Align. I'm not 100% sure if it's effective or if it just has a placebo effect but I don't have the stomach problems which I used to have.

I think this is all about the journey. It's easy to initially be caught off guard about how many calories are in things and avoid them by the plague. But hopefully overtime things begin to even out as you realize that there are no innately good or bad foods. Truth be told though, I'll probably have to go through my friends…

I agree with this statement too.

If you're weighing everything and know your actual intake then there is no reason to doubt you're getting the correct amount of calories. Even if you're off by a few it doesn't matter much in the long run. I think you need to confront the reasons why you are so scared to go over. I think you should go get some help to fix…

I want all of that!

I'd see a doctor. Could be a number of reasons and better safe than sorry.

I don't eat them. They just taste bad to me. I'm also not a huge fan of processed foods in general.

Make it a habit. I have expectations of myself. I've been doing this for almost 7 months now and what is the alternative? I know how I was living before was unhealthy and I can't return to that. Something inside me clicked and this is just the way I will live for the rest of my life. Some days are good, some days are bad…

^ This. And also "1200 calories is too much". Especially when coupled with the whole when you eat clean you don't need to eat as much.

When I first started I did the 1200 calories/day + exercise. It worked for awhile and then I stalled. Although I also didn't want to eat 1200 calories a day (way too little for me). So I switched to the TDEE -20% method and I've been losing ever since (except for the times I know I went over on calories). I'd suggest…

In my budget I allot $75 a week to food. Some weeks it's more and some weeks it's less (when I buy meat it's more - but I only buy it when it's on sale so I can freeze it). I don't even eat meat everyday so I don't understand how some of you get by on less! I guess it depends on where you live. I could probably spend less…

I think the method you choose to follow is also in large part about your own personal mentality towards weight loss. When I started out I got the 1200 calories/day + exercise calories. It was fine for days I exercises and got to eat back my calories. But on days when I didn't exercise 1200 seemed impossible. That approach…

I eat the same thing pretty much every morning. I have a turkey bacon sandwich and it's delicious. It only takes about 5 minutes to make too (and that includes clean up!). While toasting a whole grain English muffin I saute two slices of turkey bacon. I put that on the English muffin with some ketchup and eat. Yummy.…

Judging from your ticker you seem to have been successful so far at losing weight using the TDEE method, why do you want to change? I'm 5'1, 152 lbs and I eat 1600 gross calories a day using the TDEE method. According to most of the calculators I use I should be eating about 1650 so I'm trying to slowly get up there (most…

I'm not going to give any specific tips. Just find out what works for you and stick with it. There will definitely be ups and downs (sometimes in the same day!) but consistency is key :)

When's Thanksgiving? Canadian Thanksgiving is this upcoming weekend so I don't think that's doable. I'm trying to lose 12 lbs by Christmas if anyone else is interested (I tend to lose about 1lb/week).

I identify so much with this. I have anxiety about what life will be like when I'm thinner. Will people only like me because I'm thin? I have so many other qualities and what does it say about people that I get more attention when I fit society's beauty standards. Did people discount things I said when I was heavier. Or…

That's great! It's always the littlest things that seem to have the most impact.

I'm 22. I've lost about 25 so far and have probably 35+ left. Feel free to add me if you're interested in doing this in a healthy sustainable way!

I had "Spanish potato soup". It's made with onions, potatoes, garlic, tomatoes and seasoned with bay leaves, thyme and paprika. Pretty yummy! I also had fresh local strawberries and yogurt.
