  • This is the best post I've seen all week. Thank you for putting it out there. Your dedication and great attitude are of rock star proportions. :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • I think part of the angst is because it's often used by misinformed women who think picking up a weight will make them insta-hulk. "I don't want to be bulky, I just want to tone." I won't lie; that usage does make me itch. I've never crabbed at anyone for saying it, though.
  • OMG, this. They need to bring back lime and send those green apple abominations back to the hell pit from which they spewed. The packaging is false! "Original," my butt.
  • As a fellow lurker and someone who very much appreciates the "mean people" around here, I thank you for this thread. You are everything that's right about these forums. Way to kick buttocks! :drinker:
  • I like you. Totally doing that the next time I have a Snickers. Thanks! :flowerforyou:
  • I've had the steak one, and it is my new fave rave. Definitely will nom again.
  • I read the topic title as "Daily Alarmism" and thought MFP had created a new board. It would be nice to have all the fear-mongering threads in one nicely labeled spot.
  • This is one of the best posts in the history of ever and it should be stickied next to the Sexypants thread. I've been lurking on MFP for a year now (and on other forums for many years), but as a newbie I would've found the post extremely helpful. So, thanks, OP! Excellent PSA, and I believe it will help many new people…
  • There is a Type 2 support group here as well. They're a nice, helpful bunch. :-) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/1789-type-2-diabetes-support-group
  • Here's the thing. Most of the posters labeled "mean" around here are actually very nice, knowledgeable people who make sincere efforts to help when they see questions. Their tone is civil and honest, but what they say is often not what the asker wanted to hear, so they are called "bullies," "mean," "trolls," and…
  • OMG srsly. This thread is full of win. Tagging for inspiration in my newsfeed.
  • IN so I can follow this thread and see if anybody else got that joke. Thank you for the evening snortle. :flowerforyou: No advice for detoxes here. My bod seems to handle that just fine on its own.
  • This post is fantastic, and you're right. We are listening. Makes me wish some of you guys had been adopting noobs back in June. Is it too late? ;-)
  • OP, this post was very helpful AND lets me know I'm on the right track with my program. It brightened my day, so thank you! :flowerforyou:
  • This thread is made of helpfulness and win. Thank you. I <3 you all! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • I am so proud of you. You've made this endeavor worlds better than it would have been on my own. Any time someone asks for an example of pure strength and will, you're the man I'll point to. <3 <3 <3
  • Oh this is a great thread, thank you all! I've been having big issues with my squat form (as in, it sucks), and these resources are massively helpful. Bookmarking for later when I need a refresher. :-)
  • Also in for sexypants. This post is a great resource for us beginners, thanks SS! Thanks to Joy as well for the group recommendation. I do love a good derp-free zone. :-D
  • This is beyond awesome. You're my new hero! I just started lifting last week and you've shown me what I can look forward to. I'd like to send an FR as well. :-) Thank you for sharing your victory with us!
  • Thank you so much, guys! Very helpful tips and support, and I appreciate all of you. It's nice to meet you, too! Feel free to friend me and I'll keep you updated as I progress. Definitely excited to be moving into the weights at last. :-)
  • Heh, I just did that to figure out how to calculate LBM, and you're right. Thanks, Marge! :-)
  • Good deal. The compound movements make a lot of sense and have helped me realize where my weak points are (shoulders, wow). I've focused on starting rather slowly to avoid injury, and my back is holding up surprisingly well. Everything feels good so far. Sounds like I need to calculate my LBM and go from there. Thank you…
