Since me step daughter is with us and off of school, I've been committed to swimming in the morning. Otherwise, I will hear all day that we didn't go! So, I swim .25 miles every morning and run 2.5 miles in the afternoon, usually when it is 97 degree outside. Plus, I try to get my EA active workout in for the…

Its all about setting a goal for yourself. What you can do though is look at the previous years' race results. Most of the time they are on the same webpage. Or look up any 5k that list the previous years results. They should list it by division too, age/gender, allowing you to see what you are competing against. But, in…

Hey, I got a shout out! Cool! Oh boy, girl scouts and the electric slide.....We were earning our dance badge or something and our leaders decided we would learn the electric slide. Wasn't bad at first, but then we were doing it over and over and over for about an hour at each meeting for a month of so.…

I love this group, I love the support, I love the posts, BUT...............................I hate the electric slide. bad girl scout experience.

I'll agree with the food being really sweet in USA. When I take my step-daughter to a German bakery and such, she doesn't understand the dessert. It's not pure sugar. I tell her, its more about the actually flavor, but that is a huge culture shock for most people..........chocolate is not sugar.

Tell me about it! Ugh, passing about 15 fast food restaurants on the drive home from work when your hungry...and thinking 30 more mins until I get home, then I need to cook dinner, so at least 30 more mins to eat. Temptations!

I love all the tropical fruits (except bananas...if they even count). But they always seem pricier and harder to eat! LoL, like a pineapple, man, think of all the work it takes to cut that baby up. And, the first time I had a whole mango, I thought you'd be able to visually see the pit, like an avocado, haha, I destroyed…

DON'T EAT THE CHIPS! Those things are loaded with calories... I usually get the margarita chicken (no cheese) and some veggies. It's really filling.

I did the one near Orlando and the rinse off station was a big arch you walked under that sprayed water at you. The mud here is really strange so it stuck to our bodies completely and the rinse station did pretty much nothing. Even when we got home, we had to scrub for a good hour to get all the mud off. With that said, my…

It might slow your progress taking that much of a break in between running. I take sat/sun off usually and Monday's are then pretty difficult. I would say try to do every other day if possible. I haven't done C25K, but I was not a runner at all, couldn't even go around the block! LoL! But I started in January and have done…

Use that as motivation! Now you know where you don't want to be. Print a few out and put them in the fridge, the the pantry, in your work out area (if you work out at home) and maybe in the bathroom. I know that's why a lot of people are here, they saw that one picture of themselves and went, "OMG!" Good luck, you can do…

I own my own business, Branch of Success, so I hired myself and I do business consulting. My boss is nice for the most part.

You can do Vodka and tonic with a lime wedge, so it has more flavor. I also recommend not eating after drinking, alcohol metabolizes in your body before food, no matter what the order of entry is. So make sure you've eaten dinner first, then have a few drinks.

Find a good friend that you trust and send them a daily telegram or Morse code from the ship every day with your logs and have them log in for you and enter it.

I agree! It's a special occasion, don't worry too much. With that said, don't gorge yourself either. One good thing about the melting pot is it does take a little longer to eat and dine there, allowing your stomach to truly tell your brain its full. So, take your time and enjoy and start tomorrow as a new day.

I keep a glass of water by me all day. I don't even think about it and without thinking pick it up and drink when I'm reading, trying to figure out a problem, doing research or bored. I go through about one glass on hour and don't realize its empty until I pick it up to take a sip.

I work out between meals so I have enough energy, but not where my stomach is full and food is bouncing around. LOL The best time to work out is when ever you feel its best for you. Some people say that right in the morning you should and it will boost your energy and metabolism, but I honestly don't have the desire to…

My first semester away at college I drank no soda because I didn't have the extra money for it. Just by doing that and not changing much else, I lost about 20 lbs. Wish it would come off that quick again, but I have my occasional "drink" every now and then, so slow and steady for now! But good luck, you'll be much better…

I would enter it as aerobics, probably at moderate, depending on how hard you work.

Also, work out with a clean face, no make-up. Drinks tons of water. I usually carry around a jar of those face wipes. That way after working out, I can clean my face real quick without it being such a hassle.

I'm usually under too because I don't snack a lot and forget to eat, so I hear ya! Breakfast, I am now doing smoothies. Whatever fresh berries I have, plus yoghurt. I also toss my daily vitamin in there and puree it all. Try not to eat just to fill up your calories, for example, I don't believe that because you are still…

I have the first EA Active for Wii, which I think is what you are referring too. I was actually thinking about starting it up again. I did the 30 day challenge 2 years ago when I first got it and then tapered off and never use it now. BUT, it did amazing work for my thighs, you do a lot of squats and lunges. I'm hoping…

Usually late night snaking is out of bordem. Try to have something to do, besides just watching TV. Maybe fold some laundry or pick up a simple hobby that you can do while watching TV. This will keep your hands busy and you won't think about snaking. Also, if you think its hunger, drink a glass of water first and see if…

Great job! I'm now pushing to do 2 miles without stopping at all. I can usually push myself to do that once a week and I know it will get easier. I remind myself that 1 mile used to feel as hard and now that's a breeze.

I have a huge gallon freezer bag full of fresh blueberries that I picked and froze. So right now, its a smoothie in the morning. I keep it simple, blueberries, yoghurt and a little water to help mix it all. I also toss my vitamin pill in the blender too, because I hate trying to take those horse pills, so this makes it way…

Just like you, make sure she has good shoes and such. She might try to out run you, thinking its a race, so try to explain it to her first that its about keeping a pace. Sometimes I'll have my 10 y/o bike with me while I jog or scooter or roller blade.

I'd prefer to work out in the mornings, but that just doesn't happen. Ha. So I usually work out after lunch and go for my run. With the summer here, I keep saying I'm going to do more swimming, but that only lasted a week. Time to get back on track with that and start my mornings with a swim.

Usually at night, if my hubby doesn't have to work, we sit around and watch TV or movies. Well instead, last night, I suggested we play some Just Dance 2. Was a great work out and we did 6 songs with a friendly competition. We were sweating afterwards!

Good idea! Its easier to lose when there others and some friend competition. Does your boss ever bring in any food, like on friday or coffee or something? Maybe ask her to bring in a fresh fruit platter instead of bagles or juice instead of coffee. Also, do a weigh in every other week and have a mini prize. Maybe everyone…
