Brilliant I love this! Thank you I will definitely do this! Does the weight start coming off again after a break do you think?
-
Hi psuLemon yes I do. Measure weigh and log everything. I have for years but have only recently found lchf.

What’s one of these SunnyBunny? Intrigued. I like doing 16:8 sometimes and I’ve done one 24 hour fast.

Bumping, is anyone able to help? My resting heart rate is now 75 even after adding a banana and brussels for some potassium. Maybe not enough?
-
Just to add that my blood pressure is normal 104/72 it’s just my heart rate that is increasing. Normally my resting heart rate is 62. Within the last 2 weeks it has gone up to 72.

Thank you all for talking to the time to reply and your kind words it is very much appreciated. For anyone with similar issues stumbling across this thread in the future I can definitely recommend YouTube videos by Dr Georgia Ede she is a psychiatrist interested in nutrition and I watched 2 fascinating talks by her today.…

Thank you, I’ve been having a google, you’re right there are a few references to Ketosis and depression. I wonder if the same principles apply to LCHF or if it’s not powerful enough? Like for diabetes you need to be in Ketosis really. I found videos by Dr Georgia Ede, a psychiatrist, on low carb down under, Ill watch them…

I watched another video after the magic pill https://youtu.be/jXXGxoNFag4

Excellent! I’m off work today and fancied something good to watch this will do nicely thank you for sharing 🤗

I thought they were like chewing on rubber bands too!! Perfect description! I’ll give them another try tho if it’s possible to change the texture through a different cooking method. I just rinsed and tossed them into my broth for maybe a minute to heat through. I think that wasn’t long enough?
-
Maybe it’s just a calorie deficit issue then, like the body knows it’s not getting quite enough so shuts down the none essential bits? (Not based on any scientific reading I’ve done just posing a thought). If it was me I’d definitely get my blood checked though.

I’ve only ever read about hair loss associated with losing weight on a low fat diet as the fat is necessary for vitamin absorption so this seems different as you’re having plenty of fat and vitamins. I honestly don’t know. Can you get a blood test at your doctors? Thyroid issues?

Thanks everyone!! Definitely gonna try weightgrapher!
-
Hallelujah!!! Thank you!! Now that makes sense. I honestly thought it was a rigid ‘you must do this at these levels for this long to become fat adapted and if you deviate then start again’ scenario (so I was thinking do I ‘neeeeed’ to do this) but this explanation makes total sense to my layman’s understanding of how…

Thank you @snapshotstacy that’s it! Sorry everyone I thought it had popped on my feed as recently published then disappeared and I was heading down the ol’ conspiracy theory route haha!! I must’ve clicked on a link that took me back to the January post. #soembarrassed

I can’t remember now but it had low carb in the title. It interested me because it said people on lchf burn around 250 calories more a day than high carb
-
Thanks!! I’ve tweaked my macros!
-
R Thank you for taking the time to reply, I’m a bit confused tho because I thought I should be having moderate protein and high fat? These figures are moderate fat and high protein? Also I put my numbers in the Keto calculator and got 25g carbs, 90g protein and 88g fat?
-
Thank you. I’m 160lbs and I’m not sure I’d lose any weight if I consumed 2100 calories like the graphic suggest, though that would be nice lol. I’m eating on average 1300 calories and losing a pound a week but helpful graphic thank you.
-
Just thought I’d post an update. On day 7 of my second week I did in fact drop the pound I had put on plus another 1.5 pounds making my total loss that week 1.5lbs. Very happy. I also read as much as I could in the ‘start here’ section and the post about why weight loss stalls was very helpful. I used the Keto calculator…
-
And as fat has 2x calories of protein it means I usually end up with about 90g fat, 90g protein and the rest carbs.
-
Oh I’m doing it wrong then? I thought I was supposed to get most of my calories from healthy fat. So I’m eating loads of fat. Moderate protein. Low carbs. But the graphic says otherwise? So if I just really need low carb what macro balance should I aim for to burn more body fat? My goals are currently set at around; 10%…

Hi how do you find out if you’re sensitive to carbs? I think I might be so just wondering how to know for sure.

Thanks. I don’t mind weighing portions out I’m just tired of logging calories which I have done for 5 years and I believe the Mediterranean ‘diet’ is a sustainable way of life, not a quick fix. Anyway I found what I was looking for here. It gives a food pyramid and a guide to what to eat if anyone is interested:…

Yeah I do get the calorie deficit thanks. I’m just so tired of counting calories and I had heard of a Mediterranean plan that basically does the counting for you by saying have 6 portions of fish a week, this many portions of bread/grains daily, this many portions of veg, fruit, nuts, olive oil etc. I’ve seen a food…

I’ve just tried SW, just to see if it was easier than counting calories. It really isn’t (for me). You have to look everything up that isn’t ‘free food’ and figure out a syn value (feels negative). You’re allowed 5-15 syns a day if you’re female. On my first day I had 20 syns but when I calculated my calories I’d only…
-
I’m 5ft7 female but I’m quite sedentary I’m 158lbs and I’m 47 (age makes a big difference how many calories you burn). I only burn around 1700 calories a day with normal activity (1400 if I’m working from home) so I have to eat 1200 to lose weight
-
Wow great idea looking forward to this! Thank you!
-
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. I'll keep at it.

Thanks Mimieon. Sadly I didn't take photos or take measurements. My clothes are looser I guess, my friends/family say I look trimmer, it's just that psychological need to see the scales move, I was so close to being under 140lbs and now I'm getting further away, I thought the water retention for muscle repair, if that's…
