  • Did you forget about the two brand new processors in the 5s? The A7 chip is over twice as fast as the A6, and the new M7 processor is meant almost exclusively for health and fitness apps like MFP!!! But it's a choice everyone has to make for themselves. I almost jumped ship to the Galaxy 4S until this new iPhone 5s was…
  • Go for the 4 or wait for the iPhone 5s....
  • About 10 minutes ago after I ate this massively huge and juicy sweet naval orange!
  • My last straw was realizing I was "one of the pack" at my 20th high school reunion and we ALL needed to lose weight. I had thought I'd be one of the more in shape folks, but was way wrong. I worked hard and lost all those pounds over the next few years and this year at my 25th reunion, I was pleased to be at my ideal…
  • I weigh the whole jar, remove what I eat, then weigh the jar again and subtract the two....
  • I cheat. I take Healthy Choice steaming entrees, or something similar and add some fruit and a protein shake later in the day....
  • Don't forget to read through In Place of a Road Map if you are becoming intrigued - you can get totally lost in that forum and end up with enough information to make your head swim. :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/974888-in-place-of-a-road-map-2k13
  • I only use it if I can't find a particular beer in the database - no real nutrition info on beer anyway, so I just record the calories.
  • also, keep in mind that, if you are at 23% body fat, there's no WAY you can be obese....no possible way! overweight? Maybe. Obese? Nope. Your NET calories need to equal your initial goal calories that are set by MFP. So if MFP says to eat 1850 calories, that's what you need to NET.
  • I would agree with this sentiment. With all that work that you are doing, you absolutely need to eat more in order for your body to get stronger, not weaker. Good luck.
  • ^^This^^ My boyfriend didn't know how to cook when we first got together because his Mother didn't *trust* him in the kitchen. Once I gave him free reign to play and experiment, I'm sitting back and seriously enjoying the concoctions he comes up with now!
  • Go for your full fat food choices - nuts, full fat milk, full fat yogurts, etc. And lots and lots and lots of protein! Plenty of veggies. Higher calorie foods include peanut butter, avocados, red meats, cheeses, pastas, etc....there are tons of lists out there. I realize you may be "full" so go for the higher calorie foods…
  • I'd say it depends on what your reasoning is? If you are working out or lifting weights, yes. If you aren't, then it's entirely up to you? I deliberately went two pounds below my maintenance weight so that I could be *at* maintenance with that water weight from the weight lifting added. But honestly, 2-4 pounds isn't going…
  • Doesn't matter if you're married or not - it's still nice to have someone think that of you, isn't it? *big grin*
  • Bingo! I finally started to listen to this advice and began eating at around 1300 calories....and finally lost those pesky last 8 pounds! It's strange, but it works.
  • I'm 5'3", 42 years old, and I average 1700 calories per day at maintenance level of 110 pounds. I would eat your full 1200 calories as much as possible, *especially* if you are working out that much!
  • I homebrew and have a 7-tap bar in my basement along with the multiple bottle back bar cooler. Yeah, I drink. But if it fits your calories, and you're not stupid about it, I don't see the issue. It's all about choices that you make. I eat more protein and filling foods that are good for me that are lower in calories, so I…
  • ^^^THIS^^^ exactly. Some landlords don't even know the laws. Whenever I have rented, I always go through the place with the Landlord *and* a camera with a date stamp on it, before signing any lease. I make copies of the before photos and give them to the landlord, then I keep a set for myself along with a copy of the…
  • Don't discount it yet! It *is* possible and looks fantastic on many people. I'm 5'3" as well, 42 years old (32E bust size)...124 pounds looks horrible on me, though! I am on maintenance now and my current weight flucuates between 108 and 110 pounds. I look and feel fabulous. You'll get to your goal weight and you'll love…
  • In 2007, I bought a VisionFitness treadmill specifically because it had the Sprint 8 program already built into it. I use it at least 3 or 4 times per week, walking, jogging, running, and I've programmed the Couch to 5K program into it as well! My bf who is in the Army, uses it as well in order to keep up his physical…
  • ^^^This^^^ I have a FitBit and my GOAL each week is 6,000. The days I actually jog, I sometimes manage to reach 7,000 or 8,000....
  • One of my worst "enemies" is a vanilla or caramel shake from McDonald's or Arby's. It's an enemy because of the number of calories in a single cup, but ALSO because I'm lactose intolerant. So I eat those calories and it takes three days to actually get through my body. But it is soooo goooooodddd!!!! I try to indulge less…
  • My boyfriend and I currently have 4 ales and one lager happily "bubbling away" in our beer cellar as we speak...along with a 7-tap kegerator in which to place them when they are finished brewing. So yeah, I'm thinking I could be counted in your "real ale drinkers" here. LOL!
  • No. That's the MFP way that doesn't take exercise into account for the total. If you do TDEE-20%, the point is that you DON'T eat back your exercise calories.
  • I'm a lightly active 5'3" 42 year old woman maintaining at 110 pounds (good for my height!) and I eat an average of 1700 calories per day. You'll definitely need to eat more than that - I'd suggest over 2,000 at this point? What is your goal weight? 130? 135? You can do it. If you have trouble eating that much, go for the…
  • Like others, I'll either braid mine, or I'll trow it up into a bun to keep it off of my neck and sweat. I leave it up while I shower and only take it down after I've dried off. It works well for me.
  • I wear mine all the time, but do notice a slight rash if I'm sweating excessively under it or if I shower with it. So I take it off when I shower, dry my wrist, then put it back on. After a run, I will take it off, RINSE IT off, then thoroughly dry it before putting it back on. I haven't gotten a red spot for quite a while…
  • Then munch on peanuts, or have peanut butter with your apples. It'll get you up there pretty quickly. I'm 5'3", 42 years old, maintaining at 110 pounds for the past three solid months on 1700 calories a day - "lightly active." I'd say if you stick right above your BMR, you'll be fine and be able to keep losing the weight.…
