  • I went from a 36C down to a 32DDD...in otherwords, my chest size went down, but the cup size stayed the same....
  • Gummy vitamins for the win!
  • *nods* Fair enough, point taken. I've always been of the opinion "you get what you pay for" however, and I have seen that this is indeed the case with treadmills - with the caveat that you're buying a brand new one! A used one for $300 may be just as good as that $1600 one I bought brand new. (oh, and for the record I'm…
  • No. You will not be happy with it. I took the time to do a LOT of research when I was ready to buy my treadmill. Two things were brought to mind: 1) the length of the tread - those cheaper ones have a MUCH shorter tread on which to run and I would have felt like I was falling off of the back end of it; lesson: more length…
  • ^^^This^^^ I do about 200 - 300 for Breakfast, the same for lunch, I'll have a mid-afternoon snack, and then the majority of my calories for dinner and beer/wine after work. I make sure to have plenty of protein in the morning so I stay full until Lunch if that helps.
  • I'm at my goal weigh tof 110 pounds and I average 1550 calories of food per day with my relatively sedentary lifestyle (I'm considered "lightly active" by most accounts). I have maintained this weight since mid-June. That tells me that you probably need a few more calories per day to fuel your activities. And if you don't…
  • I'm 5'3" and weigh a decent 110 pounds at maintenance level. If you've only recently upped your calorie intake, your weight gain is NORMAL! Since you are exercising SO MUCH, your body is craving the nutrients and the calories. Two weeks is not enough time to reset your metabolism. I am very sedentary and have a desk job.…
  • My 20 year high school reunion picture motivated me to lose those extra pounds in time for my 25th year reunion. Success!!
  • I also use the Accu-Measure calipers in addition to my Aria scale from FitBit. So far, they seem to be in sync with each other!
  • Yep, over BMR, under TDEE. I'm close to your height and at maintenance, I typically eat around 1550 per day depending on my exercise levels. On days that I actually go out and exercise (gasp!) I burn around 1700 and eat most of that back. If you're around 1400 or 1450, you should be good to go. If, after a couple weeks,…
  • I'm the same size and have the same issue - I also don't like compression bras that cause the sweat to ooze between the "ladies" either. *shudder* I just bought the Anita Women's Extreme Control Sport Bra off of Amazon.com. It should arrive soon and I hope it works for me! For that price, it had better.....
  • Reset your FitBit. https://help.fitbit.com/customer/portal/articles/1041329 If that doesn't help, then call their HELP line because yes, your FitBit is, as the other poster said, "Whacked." In the meantime, yes, go to the other online calculators and take an average.... My FitBit started acting up one day, I reset it using…
  • LOL! *nodding and giggling* Yep! You just learn to "deal." My sister complained that she would never be able to wear a bikini again after having her children because of her stretch marks. I just gave her the finger and pointed at my scar, then told her where she could go put THAT notion! :)
  • It's actually easier to lower your body fat than you might think: lift heavy! Take a look at the numerous threads on lifting heavy, start doing that, and watch your body fat% drop. In less than a month, mine has already dropped by over 0.75% and I think that's awesome!
  • It's really going to be hard for anyone to give you advice without looking at your diary, but I'm going to place a bet here that you actually aren't eating *enough* based on the high exercise amount you've mentioned. Take a look at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/974888-in-place-of-a-road-map-2k13 Read through…
  • Oh heck, I have a big fat scar straight down the middle of my belly (if you look at my pics, you might be able to see it - there's a reason I take 'em sideways!). That gives me not only a couple of rolls in my middle, but divides my belly in two as well! It happens. It could be worse....MUCH worse. Learn to love your body…
  • *smile* You're not the only one who has trouble with the concept, so you aren't alone. I had that trouble at first as well. My BMR is low - 1205, so I had less of a struggle than most, but it was still there. Do NOT get discouraged if you see an initial gain of a pound or two when you start eating your BMR! That is NORMAL…
  • I'll give you a hint: I'm 5'3", 42 years old, at my maintenance weight of 110 lbs, sedentary job. I got a FitBit (great tool!) and in order to MAINTAIN my weight here, I have to eat at least 1550 calories. I tend to NET right around 1250 - 1300, but I definitely EAT 1500 or more calories. That's to maintain at 110 pounds!…
  • I agree with Westcoast with the addition of the fact that not everyone uses the same methods to calculate their daily intake/burn. For instance, some people use what MFP gives them, some people use the TDEE-20% method, and some people (me, for instance) go the custom route and use a FitBit or Jawbone UP to calculate their…

  • Yep - new shoes (get fitted properly by a specialty store!), and do lots of squats and wall-sits to strengthen your quads. If you have stronger quads, it can take some of the impact pressure off. Also, check your stride and make sure it's a smooth stride rather than a bouncy one? I've just re-started the C25K program after…
  • I have the 10 minute trainer as well and they are excellent for waking my fanny up in the morning....10 minutes is about all I have time for then and it's perfect. :)
  • Typically takes me 2 to 3 days.
  • I do the same thing - I check my weekly stats and change my MFP goal accordingly. I'm in maintenance mode now and it's working great!
  • I just started W1D1 last night of the C25K. I have registered for a 5K at the end of September thinking I'd have to walk the whole way, but determined to do it anyway. I have chronic Pleurisy....or at least that's what I've been told. I've had it for over 25 years now and I'm darned if I'm gonna let that stop me from…
  • Not knowing all the specifics, I'm gonna say "Age." Guys go through a second puberty around the age of 18 when their shoulders start to widen out and they stop looking gawky and stuff (okay, 18 is just a general age here...), and then another little jolt right around 25 or 26 when they all of a sudden discover that they…
  • I actually went 2 pounds below my goal weight before eating at maintenance level. It helped my body to readjust to the new calorie level and I'm up and down within two pounds. My goal weight was 110, and I go between 108.5 and 110.5 now. I'm pretty happy with that.
  • I'm in Cedar Rapids....I work out at home and don't go to a gym, but I've been told I'm a pretty good motivator?
  • Having not done or seen Jillian Michaels' stuff, I can only go from what others have said and the weight sizes you use: no, it's not strength-training; it's endurance training. Strength training requires MUCH higher weight levels and consists of few reps, not more. For instance, take a look at stronglifts 5x5 or some of…
