  • It's lonely here! Anyone home?
  • I grew up in Oregon, hiked the Silver Falls trails just about every year. @mtaratoot I recognized the falls in your pictures before I read your post, now I want to hike it again next time I go home. I love the trails were I am now, but always a good idea to have a friend or 2 along, and a dog, to keep our eyes out for our…
  • @BCLadybug888 Your soups look delicious! I absolutely love making and enjoying many varieties of soup, but I have to be so careful with salt, which makes it so tasty but bad for me. Trying to change my salt addiction is so hard! I'm going on a long group vacation in April, and my travel mates keep raving about all the food…
  • I can relate to this! I have an embarrassing amount of clothes, of varying sizes. I finally woke up and looked at myself, that of all these clothes I've bought over the years, most of them are not really flattering. I was trying to "hide" in them and hopefully look less fat. I am now going through them as I lose weight and…
  • This came across my Facebook feed, thought it was cute...
  • @ridiculous59 TRUTH!!
  • Happy New Year everyone! This thread has been slow, with a few spurts of conversation here and there. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that we can keep checking in here and and supporting each other as we try to keep losing, or maintaining our health! I reached wonderland, for two whole days, then went backwards…
  • Sorry to hear about your SIL, glad she is home where healing might be more peaceful. I've spent many a Thankgiving alone (working so others can have off) and as long as you keep busy, or have something to focus on it works out ok.Easier to stick to your routines. Your exercise plans sound great! This time of year I get…
  • I love stir fry dishes, and sushi, but am seriously tracking sodium so I can hopefully get off my blood pressure meds. (It's working!) I love the taste of soy sauce but the sodium content is awful! I found a reasonable substitute that has helped. Not quite the same salty taste I like but works for me. Coconut Aminos sauce.…

  • Wow, this thread must be on everyone's back burner with all the holiday happenings going on. How did everyone do over Thanksgiving? I gained 5 pounds over the few days, but all gone again, was mostly water weight from consuming more salty items than usual. (Mmmmmm stuffing n gravy) And I did a 5K Turkey trot, surely…
  • I ran into Walmart to get a few items, and something felt different. My pants had slid down to my knees! I looked around to make sure no one was taking my pic for one of those "People of Walmart" photos, hahaha. At least I had on dark underwear. With great pleasure I tossed those now-too-big pants into my donation pile. :D
  • Love your pics. Haven't been on any big hikes in a couple months here, the grizzly bears never seem to go to sleep and are still wandering around. I did do a 5K turkey trot just to help keep in shape and "earn" my Thanksgiving dinner. Your pics make me want to get out and stretch my legs on a trail!
  • Just read this, thought I'd post for other's comments. I"m personally planning to enjoy the things I like, but in moderation and portion size. Lucky me, I will be at my daughter's house and have to fly back home, so no leftovers to tempt me. Thanksgiving "food" for thought:…
  • @Gold6767 : Congratulations! You'll make a gorgeous bride! Your smile tells it all, wishing you happiness for your future!
  • Thank you! I have an android too. And, a Sony DLSR camera that I haven't learned enough on. Cell phones are too portable and handy. Might get that app to try out, looks like fun. Youtube instructional videos are my best photography friend, hahaha.
  • @TxDesertFox : Nice capture! I've taken northern lights photos with my cell phone, but have not tried the Milky Way or other star pics, except the big dipper. Do you have an iPhone or Android? Could you share the app you used? I'd love to try for fun. :)
  • @TGG1804 : Nice progress! I hope all the exercise and weight loss has helped your migraines! My lifelong migraines faded away when I hit my 60's, mystery but welcomed. I would wish that for you!
  • Hop over to this thread and find those of us in your age group, similar struggles, but also victories and works in progress. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10718336/60-yrs-and-up#latest

  • I find it interesting that when you decide to work on one issue in your life, it overflows into other areas/issues. I've lived in my home over 35 years, and that's a LOT of debris to accumulate. I've realized that over the years I was always bringing newly purchased things into my home but not removing very many. So now,…
  • @TamiVsTheTrail Love your photos! They make me want to be there hiking that trail and enjoying the scenery. Beautiful weather, too!
  • @BCLadybug888 Glad you are enjoying your cruise. I am going on one next spring! Never appealed to me, I kinda always looked at cruise ships as giant incubators of infection (medical professional here) and too touristy. But...some young friends needed one more person to get a discount, and hit me up. Now, I am getting…
  • Hooked on a Candy Bar
  • To reach onederland. 8 pounds to go. Every time I get close, I backslide. Goal is to reach it and keep going, to leave that stat behind in the dust.
  • Big advocate for wild salmon here, vs farmed salmon. Farmed salmon is cheaper on your budget, but for those of you who have a market choice of farmed or wild salmon: Source: Cleveland Clinic Health Essentials Nutritional content: "And although farmed salmon may have more omega-3 fatty acids, it also has more than double…
  • Hey, glad to see responses! I usually lurk more than I comment! Love your unique flowers, @AnnPT77. I grew a few edible flowers over the summer, but they're so pretty I usually just admire them. Hope to see more people "dropping in" here, have a good day!
  • @BCLadybug888 Hahaha, see? I posted here, and now all the posts have stopped! Been gone 3 months, and when I come back and post somewhere, it pretty much kills the thread. :D :D :D
  • Checking back in from 3 month absence at remote off grid camp. I see several new people, welcome! I was about 3 times as old as all the other people I worked with over the summer, and eating healthy was certainly NOT their focus, haha. Lots of Mac n Cheese, hot dogs. bacon and other processed meats, chips and LOTS of…
  • My favorite summer place....remote bush Alaska
  • @AnnPT77 Thanks for the response! I once carried a canoe upside down over our heads with 2 friends down a highway. We all had swimsuits on, so we just hid our heads inside the canoe so no one would recognize us, haha. Rowing sure looks like fun, and also the posts of dragon boating. Lots of ocean where I live, but the only…
  • @BCLadybug888 Will do! Might be able to post some photos if it works right. Will be a new thing to have communication there! As long as I don't ignore all the beautiful nature around me just to check the latest posts! :p
