I did a milk 'fast' yesterday. I drank a litre and a half of whole goats milk throughout the day and also had coffee and herbal teas. Milk is a great whole food and I didn't feel hungry because the fat and protein are satisfying. I came in at about 800 calories. Felt great and lost 2lbs after a 2 weeks plateau. Hopefully…

You want a BMI of 17.7???!!! Why?

I'm opposite to most suggestions on here in that I love to eat whilst watching TV if I'm alone. But portion your food before hand and once you're finished, you're finished. I am still mindful when I eat and I really enjoy it, I just can't imagine just me, the table and a plate of food. :(

I know others will say this but everything you are doing is heading you in the right direction. It just takes time. Our bodies store water in different ways throughout the month and can lead to massive variations in readings on the scales. I weigh every day and yep it's really frustrating that after a light eating day with…

Hey Amanda, Don't throw them away lol - plenty of older people lose weight. It's just a little harder! Log your food intake (this does get loads easier after a few days), eat 1450-1650 calories per day, try to achieve 45 minutes of some exercise each day (cycle to work, walk, jog, aerobics - whatever), eat plenty of…

So this person has put on 9 lbs of fat in a month? Woah.

Why are you all still here?

And I'm prone to burrowing into Netflix with a glass of wine! I'm happy to back out cycling and jogging and hope to lose 3 stone now. Happy to cheer you on. x

You can change how you look, and how you feel. It will just take a little time. I too gained about about the same in my first year of teaching - comfort eating!! Please don't be disgusted with yourself though. We all make terrible choices again and again but please love and forgive yourself and know that you are now taking…

So 3 months on and I've lost another 6 lbs. It is very slow going now and kind of frustrating but I knew this would happen as I near my goal. Rarely log my food these days but still more mindful when I eat. I guess my goal is now 1 or 2 pounds per MONTH instead of per week. That way I hope to be able to transition into…

This is all you need to know. It really is eye-opening when you start to weigh and realise how many calories are in small amounts of food. It very quickly adds up. My scales were £10 from Amazon and I weigh things a few times a day to check. I have lost on average 1.6 pounds per week for the past 4 months and have not…

Great! :)) This morning I hit the 'healthy' BMI range and it is a super feeling to shake off a label. Wishing you loads of support as you traverse your weight down through the 'overweight' catergory to 'healthy'. Keep going:))

Hi, I think 30 lbs in 5 months is achievable. I am 170cm and started at 185lbs. I have lost 23lbs in 3 months. My diary is public if you would like to take a look. I usually come in around 1200-1500. Good luck

It can take time for your body to adjust. Try to see these changes you are making as lifelong improvements rather than a short term 'diet'. Your weight will fluctuate and you will notice it more now that you are monitoring your weight more closely. Take heart knowing that you are doing good things for your body and in time…

Hi there, I am exactly the same weight and height as you! Down from 13st 5lbs a couple of months ago. I am aiming initially to get down to 11st. I have been surprised by how unevenly the weight falls off even though I read about it on here. Some weeks I stay the same and then some I lose 5 lbs. So I just used the weekly…

Don't be afraid of that hungry feeling, it's ok. It's completely normal to feel hungry at times. We have never in the distant past been able to satisfy our our hunger every half hour or so as getting food was so much harder than it is now. If it's late at night, have a small glass of water and get some sleep. Stop thinking…

Millet or Quinoa flakes with dried apricot, figs and mixed seeds soaked in rice milk overnight. Warm through in the morning, add a teaspoon of tahini and then drizzle with maple syrup when cooked. So scrummy :) Or a soya yogurt with some blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, sprinkled with Baobab powder. Or a banana…

Yeah you need to do whatever works for you. It is really surprising how quickly they all add up. I try to stay mindful of what I am eating, don't deny myself things I particularly desire but also accept that is OK to feel a little hunger sometimes. Rather than being really afraid of it and trying to stave it off all the…

I log everything but usually manage to stay below 1200 - I will try to open my diary to public for you to see. I do exercise almost every day even if it is just a walk but pretty much net 1200. Hope this helps :flowerforyou:

You could be intolerant of what you are eating for breakfast. I am Coeliac and if I eat (accidentally or intentionally) a meal with gluten in I feel full and uncomfortable for hours and hours. Try making your breakfast gluten free and dairy free and see if you can get a little hunger by lunchtime. Try to eat unprocessed…

England. Sadly just spent 3 minutes of my life watching a vid on youtube. Turns out broiling seems to mean grilling. I've also never seen a pop tart!!
-
Never heard the world broil before. But Googled the whole thing and turns out you cook ;em the same way we do lol.
-
Indeed I do, but how do you charbroil it? Is that even a thing you can do?! Here they are cooked on a kind of hotplate. 'Griddled'? Maybe I should just Google in future lol.
-
What on earth does 'charbroiled' mean (in the logo)? Doesn't sound like something you should advertise! Sounds disgusting.

Hi Caroline, I have just started and done 1200 for 2 weeks and it is working for me. Make sure you include calories from all drinks as they add up and write down EVERYTHING. It's really helping me to see where all the calories come from. It's true that 1200 is not very many and it can be hard to stick to but if you are…
