Hi and well done you for taking these steps towards changing your health :)) Every little success you have is a step in the right direction rather than further down a road to an early death. It is so, so easy to massively over consume calories in our modern world and it sounds like your lifestyle and location are going to…

Almost identical! Started September 1st 2015. I'm 5'7 and was 185lbs. Now at 145 and feeling so much better. Still want to drop to 133lbs but I know that is going to take a very long time and I want to get fit in the meantime. 10K is booked for July and I know that to run successfully I am going to need food lol. So slow…

Best of luck. Remember it's a marathon and not a sprint. Give yourself plenty of satiating fats and proteins to avoid feeling empty or deprived. That's what works for me :) going strong after 7 months having lost 41lbs and never feeling like I am missing out. Fill up on all the nourishing foods and then there is less room…

I started at 13 stone 3lb in September and I'm now 10 stone 4lb. About 3 months ago I had a whole month where I hadn't moved a lb and other months where I have lost 8lbs. It is definitely not consistent. Mentally it is a struggle but I reassure myself that my body is adjusting and recalibrating (i.e. working out where to…

Yep - food diary is open for all to see. Hit my target of 40lbs (just over 6 months) on Friday so there is a 2 day Chinese food blip but the rest of the 6 months is representative of what I always have eaten. Have stuck to all the yummy foods I love to eat, have cut alcohol down by 3/4 and definitely eat much smaller…

It was an over indulgence in wine and nibbles whilst working at home in the evenings that led to the weight gain of 45lbs. I have eliminated those and also slightly reduced my portion sizes. So I am thinking I will normally sit around 1500-2000 without much difficulty. I have also increased my walking, cycling and jogging…

You can do it. :) buy a food scale, log everything (absolutely everything, I mean EVERYTHING) you eat and stay under 1600 calories most days (but allow yourself the occasional 2000 cal day :). Enjoy eating, but look upon it as nourishing your body. Don't punish yourself. Nurture yourself. Move around more - walk, cycle,…

Feeling confident enough to go to a Metafit class. It nearly killed me though.

Often have my lunch at 11! Just stay within your calories and you will lose xx

Oh dear - worst night's sleep in months and had a really sore tummy this morning! Kinda good in a way because it's put me off doing that again for quite some time! Back to healthy food being my reward lol.

Thanks guys, you have put it into perspective! I guess the idea of saving it till the evening will probably allay these anxieties next time. It feels so odd to just eat what I really want for a day!

If you've seen Supersize Me and are convinced by its message (as you say you avoid Mcdonalds) then extrapolate that to the other fast food chains. I imagine they all use the sweepings from the meat factory floor, grind it up with salt, sugar, colourings etc and form it into burgers. Then consider the amount of…

Thanks Librarian :) Anyone else happy to share their stats?

I'm at that stage too. I'm interested to know if following the 'rules' for 1lb per week actually equates to losing 1lb per week? Are there any super diligent 'rule' followers to comment on this? Personally I am always under or over by a couple of hundred per day. I have been losing 1-2lbs per week for 5 months now but of…

Good to hear another person in this world wants to make a positive change. :) loads of lovely people on here. Some know it alls who will bicker for the sake of it but I just ignore them lol. Wishing you lots of luck and support. We are all individuals and this is a bumpy journey ahead. But such a worthwhile one :) xx

I can only tell you what has worked for me. 1500 calories average most days. To do this you have to make time to weigh most things and log EVERYTHING, every mouthful - it is very illuminating how quickly it all adds up - you can run out of calories pretty fast. Eat as many natural, whole foods as you can afford - we are…

Thanks for the support guys. I look at my weight chart a lot and I know I am still steadily losing (5 pounds in January). I think it must be my mind playing tricks - hormones ARE mean! I haven't been able to go to the gym for most of the month because I have been ill, so maybe that's why I feel gross too. Will feel better…

I wanted to try fasting twice a week but didn't want the sugar rush and subsequent slump of a fruit fast, nor did I think I could cope with the hunger of a water fast. Having one day where all I drink is whole goats milk is quite easy for me to control and manage. So I have a very low calories day (800-1000 calories) but…

Great to hear everyone is doing so well :) My progress has slowed right down over Christmas and New Year but still losing. Down to a BMI of 23.5 now. What should I aim for? Some days I still feel quite big.

Run much, much slower than you think you should. I would always run too fast, get knackered and not be able to make it to the next walking section! So I kept giving up. I joined a local jogging group and the beginner group pretty much jog at walking pace lol. But it meant mentally I was able to continue jogging for longer…

4 foot 9 is a healthy height for this weight giving a BMI of 20. Are you 4 foot 9?
-
Good grief - how short are you that 96lbs is a healthy weight?!

Well done on the transformation. Would love to have a new friend - and all those pokemon are just irresistible! My son would love them :)

Daily, I like seeing the fluctuations. They help me to understand my body. Also it keeps me on track.

I am a primary school teacher. Best job in the world :smiley :)

Welcome back. Never too late. xxx

I have misplaced a two year old and a chihuahua. Careless.

Oh and my diary is public if you want to snoop. I eat foods I like, I almost always go over on fat and I never feel hungry.

I have no experience or advice to give but sending you love and hoping you get good help and find a way to manage this. It sounds horrendous for you. xx
