  • i do appreciate the effort people go to anonymoulsy to try and help each other with no personal gain their own. i guess logging it is then. P.s. that thread is good
  • the photos i take are of the nutritional information on the food i eat. so they show the calories/weights etc. the time between my weight checks was two weeks so thats why i was curious i guess mfp isnt for me if i cant log as the advocates insist.
  • i know my loggin is sparadic but i keep a photo food diary (i wish MFP would support that as a feature.) i try and load all the information from my photos in bulk, i know that doesnt help with food critiqueing by my mfp friends but its easier for me then logging all the time. its eassuring to know you can retain that much,…
  • any takers?
  • thanks for the responses, it seems setting targets based on timescale short/middle and long term is quite a good approach. helps to keep people on track then in the mean time make it a lifestyle changee, forever, not just for now. much appreciated. MFP is an incredible reosurce
  • back for the final push after a little absence, it would be great to have some more active friends. although i realise its slightly rich considering ive been absent. feel free to add me im help keep me accountable
  • i have a bigger issue! when it rains: the ground gets wet!!!! im concerned for the safety of the ground what if it cant swim?
  • Muscle does weigh more then fat? that is a fact...its denser?
  • although i do think you might be being harsh on yourself with the time scale, one thing to bear in mind, 5/3/1 is a strength orientated program, i dont think it does much for gaining size, if you want to build size you need to really break down the smaller muscle fibers with close range movements at a medium rep range, i…
  • the calories i log for exercise are the ones that MFP gives me , and typically they are a lot less then my HR and Suunto Ambit tells me, so i take both with a pinch of salt, although the Suunto is one hell of a piece of kit :) it has only been 3 weeks with no real change, so maybe i should be patient, i can imagine my…
  • thanks for your advice guys and gals, i know im not the best logger, mainly at the weekends, but similarly if i dont log food i dont log exercise, i would have thought it would balance, maybe youre right about moving my calorie goal in line with my weight loss, that sounds like a good bit of logic
  • my favourite: i play rugby and rugby players are supposed to be big!!! stupid mentality
  • just echoing what the people above me are saying, i do record my weight ever day, sometimes weigh myself more then once a day, through a week i can fluctuations of 6-8kg but as long as the trend is heading down, then , thats what matters stay on target and use a tape measure, good luck
  • i dont mind at all, the more the merrier :) 4 months is faster then i expected and the difference is really noticeable now, roll on the next 4 months i say, see how i get on
  • Anorexia is the feeling that you are fat even when you are not! anyone who thinks they have fat hands at 63Kg has an unhealthy body image, i hope a medical proffesional assists you, nothing the wisdom of MFP forums can do! best of luck to you, i wouldnt be aiming for 45Kg though.. maybe 55Kg
  • 1 litre of water weighs 2.2lbs, if your weight doesnt flucutate that much every couple of days then your not drinking enough, just to put your mind at ease , i was 103kg when i went too sleep last night, then 99kg when i woke up, thats a change of 8lbs just in my sleep, by all means weigh yourself every day or couple of…
  • Some of the posting on this Topic is a tad mental!! lets not get confused between cause and effect! running burns calories= Fact Food is calories= fact if you burn more then you eat you will lose weight= Fact finding some middle ground between the amount you run and eat? well thats just self control in my opinion i run 5km…
  • i find not eating carbs is a good way to eat less calories, and a high protein intake suits my end goal in terms of body composition, i also echo the rebound risks though, these can only be counteracted if you cycle the carbs back in, thats where atkins helps compared to a pure keto diet, it explains about adding carbs in…
  • this is excellent advice, i only fuel for events, try and run as free from any help as possible whilst training
  • i would keep a similar fuel intake as what your comfrotable with, jelly beans work really well for the inbetween miles when your doing more then ten, particularly if you know your run well or have a way of keeping track, 2 jelly beans per mile is my motto, seems to work for me
  • Charles Bronson, yes the criminal, built some serious muscle and fitness just doing body weight exercises. check out his stuff on solitary confinement fitness, he still holds the record for full press ups in 2 minutes, at a little over 170 , he was 53 when he completed it ...
  • its not so much the health benefits of having a six pack, more the health benefits of not having excess belly fat? does that makes sense? its comparable to asking whats the benefit of having safety boots? well the benefit is negating all the risk of not having them on?
  • 36 calories? stop wasting everyones time, you could easily mis-count by 100 calories every day... even at 1200 calories 36 is 4% of your daily intake... if you had that much over every day i bet my life youd still lose wait ..
  • i love these repeat arguments. case for the defence = explain to me why its 1200 calories minimum net calories ? where does that come from? would 1150 put em in starvation mode? case for the prosecution = ive tried the 2 different diets and lost more eating more. time to move on surely? SW, SW, SW, N Some Will, Some Wont,…
  • everytime i see them i always skim read it as IKEA fitness member, makes me chuckle
  • Escalated quickly?
  • both is the answer... MORE is always better
  • have you tried prolonging your breakfast? so wake up, grab a piece of fruit, then in half hour, a piece of whoelema toast with peanut butter, then another piece of fruit and a yoghurt? i find eating breakfast great but its like my body forgets so i eat pretty constantly between 7-11 when i wake up
  • i find eating 6 *300 calories a day easier top control then eating 3*600 calories a day.. if i dont eat for more then 3-4 hours, when i got to eat i end up making bad choices, have a look at the OAMC (once a month cooking) on google, doesnt quite suit my lifestyle but is of the same ethos as eating regularly
