I was 21 when I had my first son, and 23 when I had my second. They are now 26 and 28 years old; they are college educated, and living productive lives. The three of us are very close. They are the best thing that ever happened to me. I know people didn't think I was old enough and I am sure plenty of people thought I'd…

Wonderful! This is a huge problem. My husband used to not speak to me when I went to the gym. He was very insecure and still is at times, but over the past couple of years it has gotten better. I used to let it bother me a lot, but finally had to just tell myself, it's his problem and all I can do is take care of me. Glad…

4:30 am - kudos for getting up so early! I have always heard that working out int he am BEFORE eating burns more calories AND boosts your metabolism for the day ahead. Plus it makes you feel good all day! Either way - it is never a bad thing to work out - keep up the great work! Kim

I could always use more support! I've been struggling lately and would love to be added. Hows this for brutal honesty, I gained 8 lbs since my last log on here, that's how much I have struggled. I'd love to help another person on their journey! Kim

Adding you! I'm returning here and really need support also! Look forward to following your progress, -Kim

I like weight training and it can be done at home. When you build muscle you increase your metabolism and do good things for your bones. What I like about it is, it does not take too long, there is variety, and you see results pretty quickly. Also you can challenge yourself to increase reps and weights. All you need are…

Let me start with saying - great job so far on working toward your goals! There are some great comments here already. I commend you for having a good career, benefits and raising your son. Try not to get too far ahead of yourself, would be my advice. Focus on your health - sticking it out where you are and getting the…

This is really hard for me especially in these winter months. I am a knitter and keeping my hands busy prevents me from being able to snack! other than that, I'll cut up celery and dip in a little bit of hummus, it's better than eating junk and straight carbs which are my downfall!

I have the same problem, and loosening my laces, as well as shifting my feet, wiggling my toes, helps. I'm certainly glad to see it isn't just me!

What Brandi says is true about the body going into starvation mode; so yes, it is possible, to answer your question. What's more important for me at least is trying to ensure the calories I am allotted consist of a balance of healthy fats, proteins and complex carbs - and as little sugar - especially processed sugars as…

Hello and welcome! I am new here too. I prefer the elliptical to my treadmill! What helps me immensely is listening to music on my iPod while I use the elliptical. There are some great songs that really motivate me to work harder and the time goes by faster! Good luck with your journey - you can do it!

Good luck to you, from a fellow newbie!
