  • 75lbs is amazing. No matter what you look like, it's such an accomplishment. You should be so proud. Keep of the good work!
  • Congrats! I think I'm now the smallest I've been since I was in middle school. It's a great feeling, right? I think I'll try on my hideous prom dress (c. 2001) when I visit my parents next. Here's hoping it's big.

  • I also log all the veggies that I eat. Sometimes it feels silly--100g of cabbage is like 25 calories--but it does add up. Things that are high in sugar absolutely need to be counted. That means all fruit and things like sweet potatoes. They pack calories and eat up your carb allowance in no time.
  • Aw. Thanks! I made a commitment to myself of 2014 in 2014. I'm working towards that ultimate goal.
  • Finally updated my info, too. I about had a heart attack when I saw that the 75 miles remaining. For some reason, I was thinking it was telling me I had only done 75 miles and that didn't make sense to me. Too early in the morning for math. Yesterday a front came through and it rained off and on all day. I'm pretty proud…
  • Do I win for slowest? 3 months. And I'm still a little iffy (one week I'm under, one week I'm over).
  • Before you invest in a big jar, find some samples to try. I'm doing that right now. A lot of natural food stores sell one serving samples for $1-3. I looked at the SunWarrior website and it says they will send you samples for the price of shipping. You might check other companies and see if they will do the same.
  • I will be thrilled if I can maintain in the coming week. I'm heading into PMS. I generally gain 5lbs and I want to eat EVERYTHING. The worst part is that I know I'm making bad choices but I make them anyway. Hormones are the worst!!
  • Walked: 77.92 Remaining: 102.08 Goal: 180 miles
  • There's a group called Happy Herbivores. Feel free to join us!
  • You seem to be filling up on carbs. Cut down on some of the breads/muffins and replace with good protein sources like Greek yogurt, tofu, and seitan. Make protein the base of your meals. Stir fry and curries are an excellent way to get a lot of veggies and protein at the same time. You can join the group Happy Herbivores.…
  • Goal is 180 miles walked. I've got 118.69 left to go.
  • Congrats! I think that if we can focus on being healthy, being beautiful and feeling beautiful just falls into place.
  • Another taller person (5.4) chiming in to say that you weigh more than me but you look WAY better than me. I assume that you lift? You are stunning! Way to go.
  • No one else wants to join in? It's spring! The weather's getting nice. Come on, other people must walk, right?
  • Eat more calories. You might not lose as fast, but if it's the difference between sticking with it and giving up (or just being plain miserable), I think the choice is obvious.
  • Your stride is the distance you walk with one step. You need to set your stride so that it knows exactly how far you walk with each step. Often times the default stride is really short. It will accurately count your steps but not the distance (ex. you might walk 3 miles but it only thinks you've walked 1.5). It's easy to…
  • No, I do not have a smartphone. The upkeep is too expensive for me. Thanks for the info on Polar Loop and FitBit. Everyone seems to be talking about FitBit these days but I didn't know that you were able to input different strides. That makes all the difference. I've tried googling but all the reviews didn't seem to…
  • I've been using a $30 Omron HJ112 for over a year now. I love it and would recommend it. However, it's not accurate if you run. The problem is that you set your stride length for normal walking. When you run, you take fewer but longer steps. The device isn't smart enough to tell that you're running so your mileage will be…
  • I walk 6 miles a day at least but only input 5 miles and I say that I walk at a slower pace. Like other people said, I would prefer to be conservative and underestimate than be optimistic and end up overeating. It's been working for me!

  • Cravings. Every once in while, I'll crave something and the feeling will last for days. I've pretty much decided that if it lasts that long, I should just give in and eat it. There's no use wasting my mental energy on it. Usually I eat it and then I realize it wasn't that great and I don't want it any more. My memories of…
  • >>I know I'll get back on it again, so that is the good part. Its all part of the lifestyle change. Being ok being 'off' for a bit, and getting back on it That's the big change for me this time. Realizing that it doesn't have to be "all or nothing." If I mess up for one day or a week, I can just go back to being healthy…

  • If you've got a Trader Joe's nearby, try their curry sauces. They're high in sodium, but otherwise pretty healthy. I like the red curry and yellow (the green is like pure cilantro). I cook/steam a whole mess of veggies--carrots, onions. broccoli, peppers--and pour the curry over it. Then I heat it just until warm. I use…

  • I stopped buying certain foods because if I bought it, I was going to eat the whole thing. All at once. The next step was logging. I'm a very healthy eater in general, I just ate way too much.
  • I'm in! The weather is only getting better. I can't wait to be able to simply head out the door and walk without having to put on 3 more layers.
  • Hi guys. I'm 30 and I live in Delaware. I'm not from here and I hope to be out in July. I've been overweight since I was in 4th grade. This time last year, I realized my weight was going up really fast. I bought a scale and started using MFP. It was great until July when I completely fell off the bandwagon. I gained back…
  • Turning 30 and realizing that I did not enjoy my youth because I was ashamed of how I look. I don't want to continue that trend and end up like my mother--65, overweight, and full of self-loathing. Before that, New Years Day 2011, I saw a photo of myself that I almost didn't recognize. I couldn't believe I was so big! I…
  • Height. Five four and a half. CW: 134 GW: 125 I don't actually know if I want to go as low as 125. In 2008, I weighed 10lbs more than I do now and I felt and looked much better than I do today. What I really need to do is start lifting. I'm an apple shape and will never have a decent stomach if I don't lift. I know that,…
  • I try to walk on average of 6 miles per day. That's just me--I want to walk 2014 miles in 2014. Right now, it's my only form of exercise. It's not necessarily to lose weight, but it does keep me from putting it back on. While I'm walking is when I have creative thoughts and when I sort out my issues from the day.
  • You are stunning. You're shorter than me, weigh more than me, but you look WAY better than me. You're gorgeous.
