Chicken breast in a wholemeal bagel works for me :D

I say this to alot of people who get disheartened by the scales when working out. DITCH THE SCALES!!! measure yourself and find out your body fat percentage. You want to lose fat not weight as weight is a mixture of fat, bone and muscle. You may find that you're not losing weight as you're actually gaining muscle as you…

Best advice i can give you is buy a heart rate monitor-every ones effort level is different and thus will change depending on energy levels and how hard someone trains. MFP was estimating an hours spin for me as 600ish calories where actually on Saturday i burnt 955 calories and rising as my effort level and heart rate…

Cheers for the reply, I had a look at them and wasn't sure about the support around the ankle for impact training using step ups and stuff but yeah for running they do look comfy may get a pair regardless

You are not a dog, don't treat yourself with food! If you eat well and work hard there is room for the occasional burger or beer but only if you can control yourself. end of the day in it's basic form it's calories in vs calories out although i dont agre with 'saving' your intake for the weekend. you can't do that with…

Simplest thing I say to everyone- Take your measurements and body fat % its more accurate than BMI or your weight! using weight as a target loss can cause under eating and a loss of muscle mass which is not the goal unless you want to be skinny fat. When hitting the gym muscle growth causes a higher metabolism and muscle…

Some tough love here but Only you can motivate yourself to do this! you can't lose weight and go back to your old lifestyle of eating ****. If you want it badly you need to prepare for a lifestyle change! Now Ive done stupid diets in the past and the reason most of these dont work is they're unsustainable over a long…

Only you know how you truly feel! Stay the course and use MFP to trant and rave. I've given up talking to family and friends about my lifestyle change and post on here how i'm feeling or how well i am doing. I like to support those on here who support me we are like a family if you let people be. Just keep doing what…

This is the worst thing about it all my eyes are open to fads and the lack of knowledge and information we're taught when growing up and as adults. My advice in that case is sadly do nothing i know it sucks but those that don't want to really change wont, they just enjoy ranting. Hopefully one day when she realises she…

Agreed! I recently split witha gf, we had been dating for 2-3 months and throughout that time i said I've restated my training slwoly building up fitness so my routine will become more intense as the weeks go on. She was fine with it said she liked the gym few weeks later 'you dont give me enough time' your starving…

I have two diet whey protein shakes in my intake as i just can't handle that much food right now. I still consume 8 glasses of water on a non workout day obviously it goes up during training (but not including shakes, green tea etc in that count) but that's just me i enjoy drinking water.

Agree with Tricksee 0 calorie drinks like coffee, water and green tea are natural hunger suppressants and can help you through the tough times. And as he said it doesn't matter if how you intake so long as you're doing it in the window. Currently for me i'm consuming 1800-1900 calories a day in a 6 hour window, slightly…

I should add this is not for everyone and because of my high fat % it is working well. same as any training program or intake plan it will work for some and not for others

I've been using IF for a week now and the weight is dropping im eating for 8 hours solid hitting my calorie intake and then fasting for the remaining 16 hours. The idea is that back long before we had easy access to food hunters would catch and kill food from which everyone would feast over a few hours then they would go…

As i'm currently back home with the family I have no control over the bad stuff that is bought and it wouldn't be fair for me to force my lifestyle on the others. Luckily i eat what I want (that's healthy) It's been tough but i've actually learnt through tough love with myself how to survive in a house full of unhealthy…

Agreed! Eat more protein especially within the first 1-2 hours post workout, those aches and pains are your muscles crying out for fuel to rebuild. You're basically starving your muscles.

so how much of a step up or step down in your case is the sprint to the beast?

Ditch the scales or if you have to hold onto them do it once a month. The amount of training you're doing you are probably building lean mass as you lose fat and as we all know muscle weighs more than fat. Get your body fat% and lean mass measured including your measurements (hip, waist, neck etc). It could be a number of…

AMEN to this! if you're not compatible 9/10 it wont work it's like someone who's only into heavy metal music and the lifestyle it holds compared to another in the classical/ instrumental life. Completely different Theres obviously a lot more to it than that but people sometimes just dont understand what another person…

While I agree with the comments that a relationship/ marriage is only partially based on appearance and looks there is another side. I recently split from my gf although we had only been together a short period of time. Now there are a number of reasons why I decided to end it. 1) Yes I had made improvements to my diet/…

Regardless of what everyone is saying; “What you think of yourself is much more important than what others think of you.” ~ Seneca If you're happy continue what you are doing and if you aren't, well only you can make the change but do it for you, and no one else! :)

How is that in any way constructive? I'm sorry but don't put this on men! I have been in a similar relationship before where I was constantly being controlled and constantly knocked down confidence wise by her, I skipped meals and crashed dieted to lose weight but couldn't see it. The way he went about telling you was…

Using scales isn't going to give you honest or accurate results, checking your body fat % and lean mass is the best way. But if you're keen on using the scales, weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you've been to the bathroom and before you take in any fluids or solids. Weight can fluctuate up or down by 5lbs…

i think i may have gotten it slightly wrong and confused myself my katch BMR is 1887.45 my TDEE is 2990 and i think i wrote 1800 done somewhere in my notes and stuck to that number? I'm currently 11.6% over my body fat % (29.6%) if its true that 12-18% is ideal I've been told that my lean mass is bang in the middle of the…

As i said im only 2 weeks into properly being accountable for what im eating, could it have anything to do with the amount of water and green tea im drinking? i have 8 glasses a day of water and 2-3 cups of green tea I did have a problem with soda, drinking 1-2 pints a day of 'diet' coke but now have one every so often…

Age: 24 Height: 5'11 Weight: 220 lbs lean mass: 72.7 kg fat %: 29.6 I use to be really fit before i tore my acl 3 years ago and have only now got the confidence back to train again. This morning i did 20 mins on a cross trainer as the warm up before doing 50 min circuit training, 40 min walk fairly fast raised heart rate…

From personal experience i suffered something similar and it could be down to an intolerance to something like wheat or gluten, Have you had any tests for sensitivity to food types? Also does it flare up more than usual on occasions when you've eaten certain items.
