@ Chet - That's nice. I too wanted to do one C25K but had to give up initially due to my heavy wt. Am thinking of doing it after I lose another 5 KG or so. @ Shuba - Nice. Motivation should come from within.. or perhaps from Johnny Walker - Keep Walking ! :P
-
Nice. SW - 95 KG - Heaviest in my life. CW - 01/06/13 - 79.3 KG - Lowest in my adult life. :P GW - 70 KG (or something like that!) My next goal is either a 2 kg loss or a pant size reduction. I am not sure which will come first.

I have a gym at home. But now I am doing P90X. Can't do all the circus with my kid running around.
-
Guess you are our Desi team's Biggest Loser Champ :P WTG Chet!

Atta girl!
-
whoohoo.. somebody broke the plateau!! Good work, Arvind! :)

Disclaimer - Sorry if I sound rude! :P Well... let's look at it from a different point of view. Its great that you are feeling like crap! (No pun intended. :P) It is one of the early signs of 'progress'. 99% of us experienced it. We took years to become this fat or ate mindlessly all these years until we reached the state…

Nice. Congrats Aditi.
-
Yes, Chet. Milk - a large cup in the morning and in the afternoon. Yogurt is also consumed but in limited quantities.
-
Haha. yeah, that's the challenge. We are trying soy milk, soya chunks, tofu, panneer and sprouts. I cant have them in in large quantities for obvious reasons. I am just trying to consciously increase the take of such so that my avg protein consumption is increased. We now take maxmuscle after a workout. Tastes good too. I…

@Medicvaldez - Congrats! that's great. I am yet to check my A1C level. Honestly am scared to take it. @usmc - For close to 6 yrs now. Its type II and I am on tablets (Glycomet GP2) twice a day. My fasting is now hovering around 120. I am trying to bring it sub100. Since I am a vegan, I end up eating mostly fruits, veggies,…

Yup. But not into bodybuilding exactly. I am doing P90X to get back in shape and reduce my dependency on tablets. Over the last 6 months, my sugar levels are steadily dropping down to normal range. That's encouraging.

Hello Pratimaram... welcome aboard. Yes, we have a large desi team here. Get well soon. :) BTW, that's one heck of a workout package. It's tiring to read, let alone doing them. :P
-
@Shuba - That's good. Keep doing pushups - assisted ones to start with. You will do regular ones eventually. (I started off with girlie pushups and now I can do regular pushups.) @Amit - Welcome buddy. FR sent. Well, I am no different. I was obese since I was 15. I had a million excuses not to workout. Now, I workout for a…

You are never too old for this. You can do it. Good luck.

Hitting the plateau is a natural process. We all experience it. When I hit the plateau, I googled for some info. Educated myself on what to do and what not to do. Selectively chose a few that suited me. (So, you are free to mix and match the techniques) I broke my workout pattern, varied the intensity, varied calorie…

1. Marinated panner/tofu + bell pepper + onion - onto skewers. Hold them in the flame for a couple of mins. You are done. Tastes good. (Nothing spl abt this.. But I like to do it. That's all) 2. Boiled vegetables + mayonnaise/masala

Well... as we say it... you can't cheat an honest man. Since he is honest, he won't fall for your 'super-duper-wuper-con tricks'. A person with an iota of greed will however does. Its the same case here. Most of them want the easy way out - and in most cases - almost immediately. At least, I am glad about one thing. All…

Hi Shubha, welcome aboard. 10K seems like a big ask for me, if you are all new to this exercise program. You can start with a smaller goal, if that's fine with you. Anyway... MFP is a great place. Log what you eat, do 5*45 mins/week. You should be fine. You will reach your goal eventually. Will you reach your target by…

@Arvind - I too went through the same train of emotions when I hit my plateau. Never mind the number on the scale for the time being. I understand that you have read a lot about plateau and hence I will save some time in not repeating the gyaan. However, let me share how I came out of it as I've been there, experienced…

Just be yourself. Act normal. Be confident and cheerful. That's all they want. Good luck.
-
'comrades' already? :P
-
Nice. Welcome to the desi crowd.
-
Yup. For me, I have stopped watching the scale temporarily. I want to focus on inches instead. So, I may not be entering the values as Chet does. you are free to choose ur path. :)
-
Wt gain/loss is not due to fat deposition/loss. Its just water retention. Increased intake of sodium increases the water retention level. That's normal.

Nice. Welcome aboard. Cheers Avi

Not many, huh? :P

Then its simple. Water retention. You will lose that water eventually but keep working out. Good luck.
