  • I don't really care what anyone else eats - whatever works for them! But if someone asks me about clean eating or what I eat., I am happy to share what I eat and why. I don't see why there needs to be any debate of clean vs. not-so-clean.
  • I don't use spray, just pure coconut or olive oil. 0 calorie sprays aren't really healthy and there isn't really an in between option. I also use cast iron pans which, once properly seasoned, don't require much oil.
  • I know the feeling all to well. You just have to get to a point where you realize that 'this is for me, it's not about anyone else'. You have no control over how anyone else perceives you so why worry about it? And the worst thing you can do is have imaginary conversations in your head about what they may or may not be…
  • lululemon may be expensive but there stuff really lasts. I have pants that have been thru 2 pregnancies, as well as me varying between a pants size 0 to a size 2. Champion brand from Target seems to hold up well too. I can't speak for their pants, but I have many of their sports bra type tops that have lasted me several…
  • One reason I don't use canola oil is...what is a canola? I know what an olive is, I know what a coconut is so I use those oils. I chose to cut out processed foods not to lose weight, but feel healthier. I go about 80% non-processed and I feel great. My energy is up, I don't bloat, I sleep better and my minor depression and…
  • Anything specific you are looking for? Once I gave up those things and the enzymes were out of my system, I no longer craved them. I still haven't found replacements for yogurt or sour cream in recipes, but replace all milk with coconut milk.
  • Try not to focus on the calorie count. You might surprise yourself and not even want those things. Sometimes I think I want those things til they are right in front of me and then the thought of how they'll make me feel (physically) afterwards is just not worth it.
  • This. In recipes, T - always equals tablespoons and t - teaspoons. I know, I wrote out 'tsp' - sorry! Scallions are an individual unit - so 3-4 scallions.
  • Here is the Paleo Chocolate cake I made for my boyfriends birthday and we all LOVED it (even two very picky 6 yr old and a 3 yr old). I did the chocolate ganache frosting but it was VERY rich so I think next time I'll make it with a coconut whipped cream frosting.…
  • I buy a 2 lb flank steak and get eat off of that for several days. Also chicken drumsticks are really inexpensive, I slather them in coconut oil, season with paprika & garlic salt then bake. Country pork ribs in the crock pot are relatively inexpensive.
  • Eggs Beef (usually flank or filet) Uncured Bacon Coconut (oil and unsweetened flakes) Chicken Romaine lettuce Almonds Strawberries Mustard Crab
  • Ditto. This morning was 2 hardboiled eggs and a tablespoon of full fat mayo.
  • Cake, cupcakes. Oy.
  • I didn't read the article but I know it's about the cartons. I make my own almond and coconut milk. It's very easy and IMO it tastes much better than the stuff in the cartons. It's also less expensive. There a lot of tutorials online about how to do it.
  • Eating clean isn't about lowing weight, it's about overall health. You still need to create a calorie deficit to lose weight.
  • Ezekiel bread is awesome! I can't have it anymore as I am grain-free but my kids love it. The have the cinnamon-raisin variety every morning.
  • Getting rid of all dairy has rid me of flatulence issues as well. I am not a fan of almond milk unless I make it myself, so I tend to use a lot of coconut milk.
  • Eggs. Scrambled or an omelet with veggies. I top it with guacamole and pico de gallo.
  • It may be your body is holding on to that weight because you are at a healthy weight. I would love to lose about 5 lbs, but it's not what my body wants or needs.
  • I love me some pizza! We order gluten free pizza from Fresh Brothers but I'll eat regular crust if that's all their is. We get it loaded with sauce & meat, no cheese...YUM!
  • I've actually never seen real butter that has more then two ingredients - sweet cream & salt (except for unsalted)is all butter should have in it, otherwise it's NOT butter.
  • If you are going to do cereal, do old fashioned oats straight from the cylinder. Even the 1 minute oats have been treated (processed) so that they cook quickly, therefore making them less nutritious then the Old Fashioned variety. There are no 'healthy' box cereals out there. If it has more then 5 ingredients or something…
  • And remember when they thought cigarettes weren't bad? Doctors actually prescribed them for anxiety & stress.
  • You could try cutting out the processed sweets - yogurt, breads, cereals - these all contain bad sugars which can spike your insulin, causing cravings.
  • Center cut, uncured bacon - YUM!
  • I cut out gluten, all grains and dairy about 2 months ago (went Paleo) and it feels amazing. I have only lost 2 lbs, but I only weigh 116 so I am not looking for a major weight loss or anything - just better overall health. To be fair, I wasn't eating a ton of gluten, grains and dairy before, so it wasn't a huge thing for…
  • Yummy dark chocolate. I love Green & Black's! I try to stick to 82-88% varieties. Hershey's is only 45% , so -meh - not so good, but probably the lesser of the milk/dark chocolate evils.
  • I have the UP and love it for tracking my steps, sleep, etc. But I still have problems with how it syncs with MFP. If I track an exercise at 250 calories on MFP, it shows a negative adjustment of 250 calories from my UP band.
  • I've never seen anyone cardio bash. I live in a very fit city and everyone has their own way of doing things to remain fit. I personally am not a runner. I never enjoyed it but always wished I could! I do Bar Method and the stairs. My BF does Cross FIt and the stairs. I have friends that run & do yoga. To each his/her own…
