Find another couch to 5k participant and have a buddy. The more people= more motivation. woops, someone already mentioned this.

If it is raining and you slip and land on concrete with your face you will bruise. This bruise will last for a month. However, there will be other runners that will help you out. Be sure to thank them for taking their time to help your time. That being said, if you have any tight turns-try not to slip.

friends who have open diaries are helpful.

I'm quoting because everyone is saying eat more & for the most part I agree with this dude. I'll add on- you are probably not sizing your food up to the correct scale. As for what you eat, that is up to you to decide. The whole cannot eat after 6 is broscience.…

My biggest regret is not growing a pair and not learning how to do starting strength lifts properly. I specifically asked about learning that type of program and all I received was H.I.I.T workouts & circuit training b.s. this may work for other clients, however, for me-nothing. This is because I did not say anything and…

sorry, I run marathons and long distance stuff. My easy = another person's hard. visa versa on lifts. A person's warm-up= my struggle. it's something to work on ;)

a. not exercising enough? There's this trend called the active lazy. A person sits on their butt all day and then goes for a relatively easy 5-10 mile jog. b. Add weight training to mix up your exercise so your body doesn't adapt to the same procedure &/or add another workout routine or even change your routine. (Look, I'm…

aint nobody got time for that ;)

I am confused by your question. When you want to add someone follow these steps: Click on the person you want add. You can do this either by clicking on the picture or username (your username is missrat). Click on the green button near the top of the page that says Add as a Friend. Write a "Message to include with your…

obviously you know you can't spot reduce. Work on exercises that tone your muscle. Some people like the ab roller Some people like Ab Ripper X off some program Some people like other things. Mix that in with cardio and after a couple months of tracking see if you see a difference. (this is generic advice)

Just an FYI to anyone that DOES read this. BMI IS a consideration for a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa. Anorexia (shortening it) is considered if the individual can not maintain weight out of 85% of what is expected (and if a girl has missed a succession of period cycles). This is usually done by BMI. yes it is a mental…

The changes you make have to be committed for a lifetime. Make sure the changes you do (cutting calories, type of exercise) is a nice mellow transition and something you can keep up for your entire life. It is good to find something you will truly fall in love with. Weight lifting--you can do this to participate in games…

Go to Groups and join the numerous Insanity groups. :] "c'mon everybody. Let's gooooooooooooooooooo"

run faster to get the run over. Kidding. I deal with this problem all the time and you are correct. Water is attractive to bugs. This sucks when I run trails by certain rivers and lakes. I have swallowed flys, had bugs gone into my eyes, looked manic as I ran and kept sweeping at my face... you get the point. Do not wear…

Great reply! long distance adds more stress on your lower legs (if there are hills as you mentioned then your quads... yeah)... however you don't need to stop lifting entirely. Some runners could actually use a weight lifting schedule. The best advice is your rest days if you are doing weight training and running. maybe…

@pennydreadful sounds like they're doing a barbell row.

what exactly is your goal for your first half? Is it simply to just finish?--- then don't cut back on your usual training regime. Is it to finish with a certain goal time?-- cut back on the training 2 days before the race day and let your muscles settle and enjoy your run. Either way, way to do a 1/2 marathon. Enjoy all…
