I don't plan on hitting the 100lb lost club following that plan. Exercise is great for getting a good sweat on and getting fit again but I don't see it working well if the body is starved. It needs the nutrition to rebuild beyond just using the fat storage.

Even when the logging was ugly, it was useful. I've had a few runs of being over the calorie goals for a month or two but logging the good and bad helps bring better choices back around. I usually cross check the cardio exercises with other sources when logging in the extra calories since some categories seem too…

I eat a ton of fruit as it's a good filler and low cal. And since it comes with fiber and a lot of fluid usually, it should digest way more slowly than a high sugar snack. I'm pretty sensitive to sugary stuff and don't feel a spike at all from eating fruit, even a lot of it at once. But everyone is different. It's also an…

Likewise. Good side by side pic showing the difference. Holy mackeral. I'm guessing I'll eventually settle into the 220-230 area but we'll see. I once went from 292 down to 219. I still have some of those pants around. The size looks almost comical. But even before I started this I've always been observant of people who…

Since I'm still pretty busy, I do rely on canned or frozen fruits/veggies to fill up and get many of those healthier calories in there. Frozen strawberries are pretty good when defrosted. Peaches are terrible. Green Giant has some great vegetable or potato mixes in a bag with lighter sauces that are only a few hundred…

I'm crazy accurate using the food scale at home. Very handy and simple enough.

That's still fairly quick but it's interesting to see that the skin coped well with the weight loss and shrunk too.

Don't it feel good? You gotta get a counter going to tag onto your posts. That loss number is moving up quite nicely and I find it to be a motivating reminder.

I can feel a difference is how the different sugars react in my system. The fact that most fruit sugars come along with fiber makes a big difference. I actually plow through a lot of fruit but don't really pay attention to how it affects the target goals. Fairly efficient way to get more water into your system too. My skin…

I've owned 3 scales in the last 20 years and I only believe one of them. One I had long ago I don't remember if it was digital or not but it gave a false weight of 20 pounds under reality. Somebody I knew didn't believe me on my weight so I brought it and he was right. The cruddy thing was 20 off. It was probably digital…

That is a remarkable shrinkage! Congrats on the focus and work. That is a huge inspiration to many people.

I'm a bit confused too. I tend to rely more the weight side of the portions and use a food scale. That way I can easily just add a fraction of a portion depending on what the food scale shows. Frozen veggies are estimated on the bags so it's not unusual for my diary to say 3.18 portions of something. I think you may just…

One way I've heard someone think about it is just to think of food as fuel. You need it to power your body if you are burning calories. And if you want to eat more things or treats you can burn it with some exercise. They've shown on some of those extreme weight loss shows that eating too little will slow down weight loss…

The binging is definitely a major factor of how I got to my high weight. No portion control and those foods have an addictive quality to them that makes you crave them the next day so it's very tough to break that cycle. The last batch of years my weight has been stable as I've usually chosen foods that have some sort of…

Hmm, 291, that was TIMv3 about 10 years ago or so on a weight loss effort to fit on some roller coasters. I'm a year older than you. I was around that weight and worked my way down to the 220s. This why my username is TIMv4 (Tim version 4) as this is about the 4th and last time I am going to work off a pile of weight. A…

Great work. Good info all around. And in 16 months which is reasonable. I think my full loss goal is about as much as you succeeded in losing.

In the past the scale would drive me batty but this time around I'm taking the slow approach. I'm starting out near where you are and the fluctuations are even easier to happen. Just taking a shower would sometimes show a lighter number on the scale. Scale error rates are going to come into play too. The mfp app gives me…
