New Member question about adding recipes

Hello !

I am a new member and am trying to slowing add some of my recipes of my meals. I work way to many hours every week and it is a constant struggle to eat heathly.

I am trying to enter the ingredients that I use when I make smoothies but I don't use the amounts that they suggest. Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

For example, I just got a packet of Garden of Life Raw Meal Replacement that is 2.8 oz which is the serving size. I broke this down into 7 tablespoons so that I can add other items to it.

I do this for 2 reasons. 1) I can barely finish a kids meal portion on most days and 2) I get more bang for my buck since I have to eat every few hrs to keep from getting sick.

Any suggestions? I really want to be able to accurately track my food intake, but am not sure how to make it successful for me with how I am needing to break things down.

Thanks :)

Hi, I don't know if this will help or not as I'm not sure I fully understand the measurements you are using but I have found it helpful to go ahead and enter the full serving amounts of things in my recipes and then in the serving box say it makes 7 servings for example so that I get the right numbers for the amount I'm actually consuming. Hopefully that makes some sense. The logging thing can be a bit frustrating but I've found that it is worth the time and trouble in the end, I hope you are able to get it sorted :)

I'm a bit confused too. I tend to rely more the weight side of the portions and use a food scale. That way I can easily just add a fraction of a portion depending on what the food scale shows. Frozen veggies are estimated on the bags so it's not unusual for my diary to say 3.18 portions of something.

I think you may just want to build a recipe based on a daily portion of your mix and then enter it into the diary as a consumed fraction when you have it.

I have a recipe for a turkey honey dijon sandwich for making logging simple. Sometimes the flax bread I use is hard to find so if switch to something else for a while, I can increase the portion a tad to account for the higher alternative bread calories. The nutrition log may be off some but I'm not going to fret over that.
