I easily burn 200 calories walking the dog for 30 minutes. Living in Colorado dog walking in my area involves hills. At least according to my heart monitor watch.

Kohls is great for inexpensive workout clothes. They usually send me a $10.00 coupon no minimum purchase. They carry Adidas, Nike, Fila and Champion.

I love chips n salsa and guacamole . I have to be careful to only consume the treat on a heavy workout day, I have sometime substituted Trisquit crackers instead of chips. Instead of a whole bag chips I can eat six crackers which is about 150 calories.

I would like to incorporate my hounds in my workout. Unfortunately both my dogs are over 10 years old and are slowing down. I usually do a 5 mile run solo. I then cool down by walking the dogs for about 20 minutes.

I never eat raw whole tomatoes but love salsa and sun dried tomatoes . I am not crazy about cucumbers but love pickles. I used to think chicken fried steak was chicken when I was younger.

I could never cut milk out of my diet no matter what someone says in an article. I enjoy ice cold milk. I have cut down on the amount consumed. I drink about 8 oz a day of fat free milk. I have tried soy and almond milk but to me it taste like wallpaper paste.

Love eggs . Good article. I eat them usually on the weekend for breakfast. I did cut the cheese out of my omlettes.

Love Trader Joe's but unfortunately they are not in Colorado. When I go home to Arizona or travel down to New Mexico always stop at the Trader Joe's to stock up.

I use Run Keeper for the Droid. It allows me track not only running but other activities such as snowboarding.

Choose a gym with a trial membership before making the decision. I would choose the gym membership over the treadmill. Just a treadmill could lead to boredom in your workout routing. Besides depending on where you live there is always running outdoors.

Check if they post the information on the company website. My group where eating at On the Border Mexican Restaurant. I was able look up nutritional information online. It will shock you what some of standard plates have for calories,fat, sodium, etc.

If I am attending a large food gathering then I will always try to complete a great workout in the morning. Usually try to burn 700 -900 calories during the session. I then try to use best judgement and guesstimate the DB entries. I am planning on attending a BBQ over the 4th weekend. I plan on running at least 6 miles in…

Great story and congratulations on the progress. My breakthrough would be when I was able to run for the entire 30 minutes on the treadmill for the first time back in March. Five minutes of running was all I could do when first starting out in January. I ran my first 5k race back in May and have completed two more races.

I gave up my old drinking habits to loose the weight. I have an occasional beer now and then. Always a craft beer so I can enjoy it since I limit myself to 2. I really like IPA's. Stone is one of my favorites. I am also a big fan of New Belgium Brewery products. Colorado is one of the best states for a craft beer drinker.

I completed C25k few months back. I did my first 5k back in May. I have completed two more 5k races. It's a great program to get you started into running. I would recommend joining the Face Book group. They post some interesting articles relating to running and health.

I agree, the food scale is one of my best purchases. I weigh my food most of the time. It has helped with judging portion size even when the scale is unavailable.

Get a rice cooker\steamer. I cook steam most of my fish except tuna in a steamer. I lightly pan sear tuna. Some good fish would be Mahi Mahi, Ono, or swordfish. I usually by wild caught except for catfish. In my opinion catfish should always be USA farm raised. Since catfish eat anything farm raised have a specific diet.

A few more recommendations I always bring two t shirts . One to work out in and the other to change into for the ride home. I tend to sweat heavily on the treadmill. Change your workout clothes. I can't tell you how many times I see the same people in the gym wearing the same workout clothes three days in a row. I know…
