Right on, Julie! :drinker: Happy Birthday! Enjoy it to its fullest!

I had the best run this morning with my friend. We ran a nature trail in the woods- so there was mud, creeks, thorny bushes, roots, hills and all sorts of fun obstacles in our way. We probably ran about 4 miles or so. By the time we were done our shoes were completely soaked and we were dirty and muddy from head-to-toe. It…

Hey everyone! Jess! Congratulations! You rock! Yesterday I ran 12 miles, so today I'm taking a rest. I think I'm going to load my three-year old on the back of my bike and head out for a little ride. Have a good one!

Easy paced 6 for me today. Had to do it on the treadmill because of the rain. Kechie-don't you love to odd tan lines we get as runners? I've got a nice line across my cheeks where my sunglasses hit. So pretty! Teach - sounds like a nice time with your daughter. I think it's great that you get to share time with her…

I've heard "Body Glide" is pretty amazing stuff. It looks like a stick of deodorant, but you swipe on spots where you tend to chafe. Best of luck with your 5K!

Oh, man...that line about having three kids to take care of, why would you want to run a marathon is the huge red flag to find another doctor. RUN to find another doctor! How inappropriate for him to say that! How stinking unbelievable that he would say that! :grumble: I would go to a sports medicine guy for a second…

Hey everyone...six-mile easy run today - although it wasn't so easy. Had some belly issues. I'm just getting so frustrated with the eating-running thing. Ugh. Can't seem to get through a run without feeling off. Jess - best of luck with your tri! You're amazing!

Hi runners. Hope everyone is having a good one today. I did a 6-mile tempo run today: 1 mile warm up 4 miles @ a 8-minute mile pace 1 mile cool down Let me tell you, my quads and butt muscles are feeling it! I think the soreness is from playing tennis yesterday and using muscles that I haven't used in quite sometime. It's…

No run for me today, although I was supposed to do 6. Instead I played almost 2 hours of tennis. So much fun! Sherry - we should get together. Let me know when the doctor clears you to run. It'll be fun to finally meet you!

Hey Sherry. The ING Distance Run is September 20th. I'm aiming for that one, and hopefully the Philly Half. If you need a long run buddy just let me know. I usually do Lake Galena. Also, if you decide on the Distance Run use the coupon code PDRBUCK when you register online for $10 off. The offer expires on the 15th of this…

Hi everyone. Today was my official start to my 1/2 marathon training. I was just maintaining for a little over a month now, so I'm kind of glad to be running with a purpose again. I did 6 today. I discovered a little trick today that actually helped my running. So...I'm already developing these hideous tan lines - you…

Thanks for the update, Sherry. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts. I'm holding out hope that it's not a stress fracture! Hang in there.

Thinking about you, Sherry! Update us when you can! Leash - Awesome job, girl. You truly are an inspiration. Just amazing!!!

Hi everyone. I did my long run bright and early this morning - a little over 13 miles with some killer hills thrown in there. Sherry-I am so bummed for you. Please keep us updated and take care of yourself!!!! As far as stopping on my long runs...I really try not to. I carry my water with me, but inevitably I do have to…

Wow, Christine. You're crazy fast! Way to crank out that 7-1/2 minute/mile pace.

Yay! Got my run outside in today. Did 8.2 and feeling pretty good.

The majority of my runs are in my neighborhood, so I basically drove my route and noted where each mile begins and ends. For my long runs I choose paths that are marked by the mile. www.mapmyfitness.com is a great place to go to measure new routes where mileage isn't marked. I use this site a lot to map new running routes…

Go for it, Michelle. Once you start, it'll be hard to stop! Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Julie - Sorry if you already mentioned it, but what protein shake are you drinking? I've never done shakes before, and I'm considering trying some out. Thanks!

Annaliza - This is what I use as far as a waterbottle for my long runs - http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/RRU1003/ This is not exactly what I have, but it is very similar. It is nice because you wear it like a belt, and it had a little pocket to stash your key. I don't find it a hindrance while running, but I…

Great advice all around, Rainman! Thanks. I ran 6 miles late last night at the gym and did about an hour of strength training. I'm not a big fan of getting home at 11:30 PM from the gym (my gym is open 24 hours), but you do what you got to do, I guess. I don't think I posted yesterday, either...but I ran 5 at the gym the…

I've been struggling with this too. I feel like I've been working my butt off with exercise, but I can't seem to find a happy place with my eating. I understand the need to refuel my body, but it seems once I start the refueling, I just can't stop!! :embarassed: I go on complete binges sometimes, because I'm feeling…

Happy Memorial Day! Ran a bit over seven today. I should have run 70 with all the picnic food I ate today! Yikes! Back on the wagon tomorrow, right?? :grumble:

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a few days, but I've been keeping up with my running. I have a few weeks before I begin training for the half that I'm doing in September, so I'm just taking it easy and running whatever I feel like running that particular day - as long as I keep it at 4 miles or more. Saturday - 6.5…

Did 4 on the treadmill and 2 miles on the elliptical. Good night!

Popping in late to wish Jess a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sherry at least someone was there to cheer me on! my husband tried to bring the kids down to watch the end of the race, but he had a hard time parking, gave up and drove back home. He did take pictures to prove he made an attempt! I ran a very slow 4 on the…

WTG on your 5k! I'm not a professional or anything, but you might just want to try a nice easy mile today, just to loosen you up a bit.:flowerforyou:
