  • I’m a newbie to Keto as well. Welcome, Ashley!
  • Oh boy, do I need this! I get this HUGE carb craving every night. My carb of choice is cereal - any kind and in massive quantities. :embarassed: So, I think I'll make my cut-off time 7:30PM. So...how are you guys beating your cravings? What's your trick of choice?

  • Jenny, You are truly an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your story. It's sounds so amazing. I love that you soaked up and appreciated every single moment. And to have such an awesome race time-wise to boot! Wow! What an accomplishment! You certainly rock!:drinker:
  • Sounds scary! I love it! Thanks for the tip about going through Jess!
  • Did a little over 8 miles today. Ugh. Another hot one here in PA! Happy running everyone!
  • Becky... Let me know what you think of Insanity. It looks great, and I'm thinking about it, but I'd like to hear what other people think before I committ.
  • Shuntae - This is great! You did it and if you average your times for each of those four miles at tempo, you'll find that you were running well under the 12:10 pace recommended by RW. That's awesome! Happy belated birthday to you! Enjoy your dinner tonight! :flowerforyou:
  • Yeah! What Sherry said! Go for it!
  • I knew you would!!! Don't you love the way you feel once the agony is over??
  • You'll do fine!! I'm sending you all the fast running, no puking vibes you need to get you through. I'm telling you, I dread tempo runs just as much as you. I'll take a good speed workout over a tempo run anyday. At least you get some recovery time with the speed work. Let us know how it goes. You said yourself you are…
  • YIKES! Good choice on heading back to the hotel parking lot! I love running in new places and on vacation. I'm sure Colorado Springs provided you with lots of good scenery as you ran.
  • Ick! Hope you'[re feeling better soon. I had a sinus thing going on a few days ago. It stinks!
  • Ugh. Two words...TEMPO RUN...ARGHHHHH:sad:   They are NOT fun in general...then add heat and humidity t'boot and it makes a grown woman want to cry! Needless to say, I made it through in the time recommended by RW, and I feel great now, but I wanted to die while running! Here's the breakdown: Goal - Tempo…
  • Thanks for the tip on drying. The rain was weird. It downpoured at the lake (PVP) big time. I was so worried, because I left my house with every window open. But, when I got home, everything was bone dry in my neighborhood. I guess the storm was pretty isolated. Good for my house! Did it ever come your way?
  • Just got done with my 9 for the day. I timed it perfectly -- about half way through the skies opened up and it downpoured. It was such a relief from this humidity. I was completely drenched, including my new running shows (it's only my 4 time running in them). So what to you guys do with completely soaked shoes? Air dry or…
  • Awesome, Sherry! :drinker: That is fantastic news! See you September 20th, then, huh?? :drinker:
  • Hi everyone. I've been MIA for the past few days - I've been reading but not posting. Last week I stuck to my RW training. It was a nice week - 7 miles each day. Now this week everything is kicked up a notch (or five :noway: ). I'm doing 9 miles today once the dryer repairman leaves my house! I'm also stepping up…
  • Oops..almost forgot..did 7 miles with my girl in the stroller again this morning. I'm wicked pooped!
  • I feel for you! I have so much trouble with eating the right thing before my runs. Honestly, it is my stomach issues more than fatigue that hampers my runs, which stinks. I have found that depending on what I eat - even 3 hours before a run, can effect my stomach. I tend to stay away from dairy at all costs before a run.…
  • LOL! I almost forgot about your cheering bird. You crack me up! Good idea on the PowerBar chewy things. And don't feel bad about stopping for water! I felt the same way, but let me tell you...gulping down some water really can make a difference - especially on those 15 mile runs you're working up to. I carry my…
  • Hi everyone. Just got back from 7 with the jog stroller. It was actually a really fuin run because I had my daughter in the stroller and my son biking along side of me. My daughter breaks into these "Go Mommy" cheers - how cannot you not want to keep running hard with that kind of cheerleading! My thought on the…
  • I was checking out the Insanity informercial during one of my fits of insomnia the other night. It looked awesome. Let me know what you're thinking. I may just make the investment.
  • It's going pretty good - thanks for asking. I've been pretty much sticking to the Runner's World training plan. I stray somedays when I just don't have the time to squeeze in a run due to kids' activities, work, life. I'm at PVP almost every weekend and then some. I mostly always incorporate at least one loop around the…
  • Hi Sherry! I'm so glad you're back in action and you're taking your time to ease yourself back in. That's a smart way to go about things. Today I'm resting. I'm buying a new pair of running shoes today. Awww the excitement! Did a quick bike ride with my daughter this morning, then some swimming this afternoon. Have a great…
  • Just got done with a 14 mile long run. It was a great run. We all must be crazy because we are all loving on the long runs today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
  • Wow, Jess! Congratulations! That is an incredible accomplishment. You worked hard to get where you are. You deseved a great race! :drinker:
  • Welcome, Renee. You could definitely run 12 miles straight within the next year. That's a very doable goal! And this is the right place to come for inspiration. It's a wonderful group!
  • Yay, girl! You should be proud of all you are accomplishing. Congratulations on your 12-miler. It is such a good feeling once you're done, isn't it? I'm started much the same way as you. I remember struggling on walks while pushing my newborn baby girl in her stroller. I was 200lbs. and feeling miserable. My walking…
  • Checking in late - it's been a crazy busy day, but I managed some speedwork today: 1 mile warmup 4 x 1600 @7:46 with 800 jogs 1 Mile cooldown Total 8 miles I was able to do all my speed laps under 7:46, except for the last one. I did it in 7:47 :blushing: . It was killer, but to me speedwork isn't as bad as my tempo runs -…
